1. Step 1 Beat the dog mentally first. When the dog is charging and trying to bite you hold your arms way up in the air, run at it, and growl and scream as loud as you can. This will make you appear larger to the animal, and also show the dog that you are not afraid of it. If you show fear, an attacking dog will know it. By doing this you are beating the dominance game that is inside of all dogs. Show it that you are big and not afraid at all. Most dogs will back off and think twice about what they are doing.
2. Step 2 Swing any objects you have, or kick your hands and feet at the dog. Growl and scream the entire time that you are doing this.
3. Step 3 Try in every instance to not fall to the ground if you are being bitten. If you must fall down, fall on top of the dog to pin it down. DO NOT try to run while being bitten. This will only trip you which will give the dog access to maul your throat and face. Again, if you are going to fall, pin the dog down with your body weight. If you pin the dog try to work your elbows and knees to pinpoint parts of the dogs body. Keep the dogs mouth away from your face and neck. If you can wrap your legs around the dog and put it in an old wrestling leg scissor hold. The worst position that you can be in is lying on your back with the dog attacking you, even though it may feel natural to be this way. Be sure to keep screaming the entire time.
4. Step 4 If you end up on your back with the dog attacking you, using your fist hit the dog as hard as possible in the nose. Put your other arm and attempt to put the dog into a head lock. Do not let the dog go wild and have free reign on your body. Poke or gouge the dogs eyes if you have to. Remember, a terrible vicious dog can kill you, and you have to protect your life and limbs. Do fight the dog, do not let it maul you.
