Our most prestigious award goes to the single greatest game of the year--the game that moved us, impressed us, and entertained us like none other. Since we play and enjoy hundreds of games each year, it isn't easy to settle on a winner--and especially not this year, in which there were so many excellent games that settling on just one absolute best of the best was a rather painstaking challenge. So, before we celebrate the winner of GameSpot's 2004 Game of the Year Award, we wish to sincerely congratulate the 10 finalists.
