You know, in this sentence we have an
adverbial phrase that is: "
fighting in the war" , we can use this form when we are talking about two actions or events that occur or occurred in the same general time frame.
We should place the more imortant idea in an independent clause that is "Ten million men from 32 countries died " and after that the less important one that is an adverbial phrase"fighting in the war". the verb in the adverbial phrase is in the "ing" form
