Motorola ROKR W5 Phone Pics Out
Now just after the Palm Treo 500V being announced, let's check out some stuff at the other side of the wall.
Some pictures of Motorola's latest offerings have surfaced. Earlier today, we posted some pics and details of the upcoming Motorola PEBL U3 recently announced in Brazil.
Now we have the new Motorola ROKR W series! Based on the pictures, you have to admire the way on how Motorola is making a brand out of the ROKR.
The phone will have music control keys on the side as opposed to the touch sensitive ones found on the yet-to-be announced Rokr U9.
It will also have a 1.3 megapixel camera and a microSD card slot.

Compared to the Motorola RAZR phones and slightly newer KRZRs, the PEBL line was never all that successful on the market and, as a consequence, few such models were released up to this date.
But Motorola has just released a new PEBL phone in Brazil, the U3e.
The clamshell handset looks set to be an entry level version of the original PEBL.
This quad-band GPRS/EDGE handset looks slightly different though, featuring a flat back and a standard hinge.
The camera and external display are retained at expense of Bluetooth connectivity.
New features include Push-to-Talk capability with Push-to-View picture sending. A mini USB slot is thrown in for file and data transfer.
Apparently, it will come equipped with a camera with video recording capabilities, push to talk and a media player.
The mini-USB port it includes will allow the user to connect the handset to a computer and transfer data.
Additional details like pricing and availability are currently unknown.

Here's a sneak peek of the Motorola ROKR U9 clamshell handset, bringing you mid-range functions at a yet undisclosed price. The internal 262k color display measures 1.8" and comes with QVGA resolution, while the external display is a 1.4" 65k color OLED screen. You get a 2 megapixel camera albeit without flash and autofocus, a microSD memory card slot, MP3 playback, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. The oval shape doesn't look universally appealing though, and it sort of reminds me of the Motorola PEBL. As with most other sneak peeks, there is no official word on when and where the ROKR U9 will be released.

According to rumor rounds currently doing the net, Motorola's new Z9 slider will have a 2 megapixel camera and boast 3G functionality. Along with Motorola Synergy DC, it will provide a microSD memory card slot for expanding on the available memory.

Motorola has revealed more photos and details of the upcoming Q900 cellphone, also known as Zante, which is actually the name of a Greek island. The Zante name is good for a cellphone because it doesn't have an actual meaning, it is like what Microsoft did to the their player called Zune.
Anyhow, the good looking Motorola cellphone features the classic sliding keyboard which gives it plenty of style. The keyboard itself seems to be big enough so you don't press other keys by accident, it has 5 rows and the mighty QWERTY style. The screen is on the QVGA TFT category with the usual 65 thousand colors and measuring 2.4-inches.
On the technical specifications it has: 128MB of internal RAM memory; support of different audio files such as MP3, WAV, MIDI, AAC, ACC+, and WMA.2.5mm; game controllers; and Java. The connectivity options are bluetooth, or for the internet related tasks – EDGE. And if storage capacity is one of your needs, there is one expansion slot to increase the memory to 2GB, thanks to a miniSD card.

Motorola has a couple of iDen handsets that were recently rolled out, and they are the iDen i355 and the combo iDen/EVDO i605. The former is an entry level handset that takes the candybar route and will definitely be the ugly kid on the block, featuring a rubbery keypad, a textured back, and silvery, rubbery sides. The iDen i605 on the other hand, is a mid-range combo Sprint/Nextel phone that boasts EVDO connectivity and comes with a 2 megapixel camera. Unfortunately, it lacks a memory card slot of any kind or music playback. The i355 and i605 will be released before the year is over at a yet undisclosed price.
