Hi.
Has any one got any info about Tolimo exams?
I participated in it and now the result has come so wanted to know the score is like Toefl or some thing else? What's the maximum score you can gain?l

Hi dear archi-girl (May I know your real name?)

I have taken part in TOLIMO exam. The answer is affirmative. It is just like TOEFL (Albeit paber based TOEFL (PBT))

Its maximum score is 677 and for writing I think 6 is the maximum.

If you are more than 600 it is excellent.

I think the difficulty level of questions are also comparable with TOEFL.

I've got 593 in the test and 4 or writing. (I'd thought that I marked all the tests correctly) ...It was so easy..Not that much bad
But anyway I think this Tolimo was so so easy.Toefl should be much more complicated

Well ... Dear Azadeh, 593 is a very very good score, it shows your English is in good condition
I said that anything over 600 in excellent and 593 is also excellent, don't worry!
How old are you? If you are an applicant for Iran's universities PhD exam you should have passed this exam or its equivalents before.

به منظور ايجاد زمينه تقويت وتوسعه زبان آموزي در كشور و فراهم آوردن امكان سنجش توانايي دانش زباني دانش آموزان ، دانشجويان و دانش آموختگان، بیست و نهمين آزمون زبان انگليسي پيشرفته(TOLIMO:E-A2007) با شرايط ذيل ، توسط سازمان سنجش آموزش كشور برگزار مي شود . تذكرات مهم:
1- كليه علاقه مندان در سطوح مختلف آموزشي مي توانند در اين آزمون ثبت نام و شركت كنند.
2- توصيه مي شود داوطلبان علاقه مند كه در مراحل اوليه زبان آموزي قرار دارند و توانايي دانش زباني آنها در سطح پاييني مي باشد، از شركت در اين آزمون خودداري نمايند.
3- به كليه داوطلبان توصيه مي شود، مطالب انگليسي ذيل اين اطلاعيه را به دقت مطالعه نمايند.
4- به كليه داوطلبان شركت كننده در آزمون دوره هاي دكتراي اعزام به خارج كشور ويا دكتري داخل كه توسط دانشگاهها و موسسات آموزش عالي برگزار مي شود، تاكيد مي شود در اين آزمون شركت نمايند.
الف - مواد امتحاني و مدت پاسخگويي به سوالات آزمون
آزمون ((Tolimo:E-A2007 شامل 140 سوال چهار گزينه اي و يك سوال دربخش نوشتاري درحيطه هاي زباني زير است :
1- بخش نوشتاري (يك سوال و مدت پاسخگويي 30 دقيقه )
2- ساختار و نوشتار زباني ( 40 سوال و مدت پاسخگويي 30 دقيقه ).
3- خواندن و درك مطلب ( 50 سوال و مدت پاسخگويي 55 دقيقه ).
4- درك مطلب شفاهي (50 سوال و مدت پاسخگويي 35 دقيقه).

It's something like Toefl ..it's said that the questions are for the previous Toefl questions.

Are you really a PhD applicant?
The minimum acceptable score depends on the university to which you apply, some of them require 450, some 530 and so on, however, 593 is enough for any university.
Do you really want to apply for Phd? What is your field of study?

Thanks for the info, No I'm not going to apply for the Phd. I think studying phd in Iran doesn't worth it , there's no job for phds except being a professor in a universiry ..But when It comes to hiring professors, the ones who have studied abroad are in their priorityl
I also can't bear all "party bazi" they do in phd exams....

I've just applied for ms this year, my practical exam was on previous Friday. I think ms could be enough if I want to stay here in Iran..But if someday I chang my mind to study abroad I'll continue to phd no doubt l
