چگونه ابراز تاسف کنیم؟
تمام فرهنگ‌ها و مذاهب به شخصیت انسانی و رفتار شایسته ی نوع بشر با دیگر همنوعان خود ارزش زیادی قایل است و دلیل این مدعا را می‌توان در ضرب‌المثل‌های متعدد و متفاوتی که در فرهنگ‌های مختلف وجود دارد یافت.
در زبان فارسی “ادب مرد به ز دولت اوست” از برجسته‌ترین این مثال‌ها است که معادل انگلیسی آن چیزی مثل “Manners maketh man” خواهد بود.
در کارهای روزمره بارها پیش می‌آید که بابت رفتار بد خود مجبور به ابراز تاسف و ندامت هستیم. در چنین مواقعی می‌توانید از جملات زیر بهره ببرید:

استفاده از هر اسباب و ابزاری آداب و اصول و قواعد خاص خود را دارد، کلمات و اصطلاحاتی خاص را می‌طلبد و نوعی دیگر از نگاه را باید به رویکرد خود به نحوه ی استفاده باید داشته باشیم. تلفن زدن یکی از این اسباب و ابزارآلات پرکاربرد در نیای امروز است. به ویژه اینکه با کاهش هزینه‌های تماس‌های بین‌المللی دیگر هر فردی قادر است تا با حداقل هزینه این تجربه ی شیرین را کسب نماید.
برای داشتن تماس تلفنی درست با انگلیسی زبانان می‌توانید با توجه به موارد فوق، چهره‌ی خوب و متبحری – بالاخص در دانستن زبان طرف مقابل – از خود نشان داده و اعتماد او را جلب نمایید، که در تماس‌های بازرگانی و تجاری که اغلب بدون حضور فیزیکی رخ می‌دهد از اهم واجبات است. مراحل یک تماس تلفنی به قرار زیر است:

ادب حکم می‌کند که در هر بازدید – چه فیزیکی و چه غیر – ابتدا سلامی به مخاطب خود بدهید. برای این منظور می‌توانید از عبارات زیر بهره ببرید:

بهتر آن است که پس از سلام، وقت بخیر بگویید. برای این مهم می‌توانید از عبارت‌های صبح‌بخیر، ظهر بخیر، بعد از ظهر بخیر، عصر بخیر، و شب بخیر استفاده نمایید.

اگر می‌دانید که وقت محلی – وقت محلی مخاطب تماس – چه موقعی از روز است می‌توانید به راحتی یک از عبارت‌ها را انتخاب کنید. اما اگر مطمئن نیستید که مخاطب شما در چه زمانی از روز قرار دارد، می‌توانید با کمک نقشه، موبایل، رایانه، تقویم جیبی یا هر وسیله‌ی دیگری که اختلاف ساعت‌های جهانی را دارد، زمان مناسب را استخراج کنید.

گاهی دسترسی به این ابزارها ممکن نیست یا شما هم مثل من از ریاضیات تنها 2 2=5 را می‌دانید (!)، پس حالا چه باید کرد؟ در چنین مواقعی ترس به دل راه ندهید، و قدری هوشیار باشید. از آنجا که مخاطب شما معمولاً منشی یا دفتردار یا هر کس که باشد، پس از برداشتن تلفن، وقت بخیر به شما می‌گوید، می‌توانید به راحتی از خود او کمک بگیرید. مثلاً پس از برقراری تماس کسی گوشی را برداشته و می‌گوید:

شما هم بلافاصله می‌توانید بگویید:
