Hi friends,what's up?!
About 3 monthes being a member of this forum i've never came to this nice topic,well i was busy with other topics and communities.Now i'm here and i'll try to keep up with you guys from now.In fact i like English very much even more than my native language(Farsi)!I think English is really simpler than any other language speacially Arabic!In no way i like to read and write Arabic,it's boring and crappy!!
Anyway,I finish up my first post in this topic with a motto from my favorite music band,Scooter:"The only way to have a friend is to be a friend.":)

The only difference between chat rooms and topics is timing. chat rooms are real time but topics aren't. topics are permanent.

Dear Amin as you know from starting this topic until now we(specially me!) had very problems with Managers and even moderators (like VOA new Problem!) but we solved them and behind this we also had lots of successes and our topic had bin seen about 2,450 times and we have 278 posts here...so i don't think that one day dear Reza will close this topic and about this : " here is not a chat room!" i should say as dear mansoor said i named this topic "Just Speak in English" and i added this in my first post here that you can speak every thing but in English and my end was (and also is!) improving our English! l

Well, I wanted to know have u ever read NTC’s dictionary of slang and colloquial expression. I’ve read some parts & learned some of the expression but one of my English teachers told me that, the expression of that book R just old fashioned & they R not useful .now could U please tell me what’s your opinion about this book? I really wanna learn some slang terms but I really don’t know where I can find a good book (I‘ve read almost all the terms in slang forum). I remember yesterday I was young … American made a movie that was about a Iranian man who got a marriage with a American woman. She came in Iran but after 2 years, she came back with her daughter. Because her husband was so terrible . There were so many women with chador who was cruel with this woman ( they were her husband relatives ). This movie wanted to show Iranian like animals .terrible animals who don’t know any thing about freedom. It was show Iranian like stone with no soul and emotion..
And also One of my relative send me a book from Germany 2 years ago. That was so awful. I am sure u will be crying if u read it. It was about Iranian who …. Its better I don’t say any thing about it. Because all part of this book was funny:37: :37: . Some funny things about our people.

So i want to start first! a big part of my life (also my days)is spending with Internet ...my best friend is my computer! and i think internet is the best teacher of me! at first i download my softwares and other Files from that and next i search internet for every thing that i want to know or learn ..next i came here (p30!) and as i said in upper posts about 3-4 hours im here. then at the end i check my E-Mail ans Yahoo id.
sometimes i buy things i need from internet shops like p30shop and sometimes i write posts in some webloges and after internet i design my graphical works with Photoshop and if i have a order i program some software and also ofter it i play PC Games!

i spend most of my times working with computer ,u know when I come home from school i start working with computer till 9 pm .what do i do???? Well, first I come here and study ur posts and try to speak about the topic that other friends R speaking about that, during I’m here i check my mails and off, and send off to my friends .sometimes, my friends R online and I chat with them. After that I read Nasa and Hubble‘s articles and try to find a topic for my lecture (for my English class) and also find the synonym of the words that R in my books or in different articles and I don’t know them. After all of these if I am still alive I play with computer and then connect to internet again and search 4 astronomy articles or try to find the answer of my questions. sometimes my friends or cousins have a research and they ask me to find sth for them and I think I have to accept and u know what I do next… .

u should say "my english is not very good"instead of "i'm in english ill".please do not translate sentences from persian to english.just think and talk.and the other thing i have to say is that :you'd better use "in this forum"instead of on this forum.just try to learn more and more things.as my dear teacher always said "we are all elementry learners"so try to be a good elementry learner.bbye

What will u do if u have some so hard time in your life. By the way I ask these questions because of sth .I am so sad and depress now. In norooz holiday I had some traveling in some city .during the way I saw a lot of modern and new car in the road and many people who were so high class …. These people have great time. But u know there are a lot of people in our country Iran who don’t have any money …they have joblessness, homelessness, and every thing lessens:18: . However, sb have great life and don’t remember these people any time. I was too like these careless people. But I change my mind from now on:40: . Because I’v think a lot and I realize our life is so short and it fly fast.
It’s my own question, what do u do if u don’t have any thing like those people...that mean what will u do if u were instead of them.

It was not a good holiday att all.It was raining half(or more) of the holidays in Mashhad.We had two series of guests from Karaj and Shahrood.They were so upset because of the weather too.ButI myself watched a lot of DIVX films and it was so exciting.
The best day of holdays was 13th.,I think.
We(I and my parents and some of our relatives) went out and we had a really wonderful day.

Babak I agree with u .these complicated problem is so harmful for our country and also so painful for every one with soul and emotion.... but really what should we do?
I think We should not do any thing. Our government and stat man should schedule for these complicated problem and find a solution for people welfare...they should organize every thing in society with good supervision... Your mind maybe disrupted since 1 or 2 weeks ago. But I thought about this so much and finally I disappointed. I just aggravate my mind with thinking. u shouldn’t blame yourself because two hand is more better than one or many hands make light work. There are a lot of idioms .but there isn’t any body to do them.

im Sadegh,and i want to join you(great peoples)im 18 years old and i live in babol city.
im educating in scientific realm{hozeye-elmie)(im not sure that,is it corret or not?)i started it last year.
my favourite soccer club is Manchester United(notice:i like it since manchester win bayern munchen in only 2 last minutes,in 1999)
and my favourite singer is ShadmehrAghili that i have a problem whit on of his songs and if god want i will announce you about that later.
before i went to scientific realm i had educated in experimental field untill 3rd high school but i leave it coz of some reasons.
on of my best habits is interenet,and i use it in these days more than before.
wehen i see this topic i fell in love whit that(coz there are very nice peoples such as you)
but unfortunately my language isnt as wll as yours but though i like to join you.
if you accept me(whit all of my mistakes)i will thank god alot for that.

The Importance of Speaking Practice

There are 4 key skills when you learn a language:

1. listening
2. speaking
3. reading
4. writing

Which one of these is the "Odd-One-Out"? Which one of these is different from the other three? The answer is speaking. The other three you can do alone, on your own, without anyone else. You can listen to the radio alone. You can read a book alone. You can write a letter alone. But you can't really speak alone! Speaking to yourself can be "dangerous" because men in white coats may come and take you away!!

That is why you should make every effort possible to find somebody to speak with. Where can you find people who can speak English with you? And how can you practice speaking when you are alone?
At School

If you go to a language school, you should use the opportunity to speak to your teachers and other students. When you go home, you can still practice listening, reading and writing, but you probably can't practise speaking. If your teacher asks you a question, take the opportunity to answer. Try to say as much as possible. If your teacher asks you to speak in pairs or groups with other students, try to say as much as possible. Don't worry about your mistakes. Just speak!
Conversation Clubs

Many cities around the world have conversation clubs where people can exchange one language for another. Look in your local newspaper to find a conversation club near you. They are usually free although some may charge a small entrance fee.
Shopping

If you are living in an English-speaking country, you have a wonderful opportunity. Practice speaking to the local people such as shop assistants or taxi drivers. Even if you don't want to buy anything, you can ask questions about products that interest you in a shop. "How much does this cost?" "Can I pay by cheque ?" "Which do you recommend?" Often you can start a real conversation - and it costs you nothing!
Anglo-Saxon Pubs and Bars

Even if you don't live in an English-speaking country, there are often American, British, Irish and Australian pubs in many large cities. If you can find one of these pubs, you'll probably meet many people speaking English as a first or second language.
Language is all around You

Everywhere you go you find language. Shop names, street names, advertisements, notices on buses and trains... Even if you are not in an English-speaking country, there are often a lot of English words you can see when walking in the street, especially in big cities. And there are always numbers. Car numbers, telephone numbers, house numbers... How can this help you? When you walk down the street, practice reading the words and numbers that you see. Say them to yourself. It's not exactly a conversation, but it will help you to "think" in English. For example, if you walk along a line of parked cars, say the number on each car quickly as you pass it. Test yourself, to see how fast you can walk and still say each number. But don't speak too loud!
Songs and Video

Listen to the words of an English-language song that you like. Then repeat them to yourself and try to sing with the music. Repeat the words as many times as possible until they become automatic. Soon you'll be singing the whole song. Or listen to one of your favorite actors on video and repeat one or two sentences that you like. Do it until it becomes automatic. It's good practice for your memory and for the mouth muscles that you need for English.

Above all, don't be afraid to speak. You must try to speak, even if you make mistakes. You cannot learn without mistakes. There is a saying: "The person who never made a mistake never made anything." So think of your mistakes as something positive and useful.

Speak as much as possible! Make as many mistakes as possible! When you know that you have made a mistake, you know that you have made progress.

if i had the opportunity to modify just one thing in the world be sure that it was the problem of poverty.have u ever thought about the world without poverty?do u know how many children die everyday because there's nothing for them to eat?do u know how many of them die because they're ill and don't have money to see a doctor?have u ever noticed youngsters who r sentence to work all day long from dawn to dusk?i remember once someone told me we will find the real freedom ,love ,faith,food,and culture
when there's no poverty in the world .by the way i love this sentence so i wrote it for you:

sorry I am so rude person . But dear my friend I just come here for answering dear shahrzad’s question and also her opinion’s about it.
dear shahrzad I agree with u but i think
two hand is more better than one or many hands make light work.only talking about this huge problem isn’t useful . There are a lot of idioms although there isn’t any buddy to do them. Like sb whom you know more better than me and ............. they should organize every thing in society with good supervision .
