Making African Food

I used to live in a village in Africa and I'd like to tell you about food they ate there. This is something that they ate almost every day, the food had two parts one was the sauce and the other was something that they called ovoo. We don’t have that a exact food in English so I don’t have any English word for it but the Ovoo was made from a kind of flower from millet flower or from crashed corn and they would boiled that in some water and some salt for a while and it would become very thick then they would pour it into a bowl and then they would pour the bowl upside down on to a tray and it would stay the shape of the bowl. To make the sauce they would fry some chop onions and some meat if they had some meat all this cooking they were doing on a wood fire. They would have leaves chop up very small they could different kind of leaves sometimes they would take the leaves the tender small leaves from sweet potato plans or from ….. Plans. Also they could go out in the forest and they…. Certain leaves they would gather from forest for cooking. They would chop the leaves very small and boil them in with be fried onions and a little bit of water and boil them in a quite long time until they were very soft. Then they would add some pin of butter and boil it together for about a minuet. Then the sauce would ready. They put it in a bowl and put it on a tray. Everyone would gather around the tray and the y take their right hand and take a piece of the ovoo and they would deep it in the sauce and eat it. It was really good and I like it .
