I love this movie, and I love Milos Forman.The guy makes great movies, and I love his historical biopics (Amadeus anyone?) I loved Javier Bardem in this, he makes a really great bad guy!

and now for the sake of starting an argument which one do you prefer? American or European cinema?

hey! nice to see you here too I personally don't care where the movie is made as long as it doesn't bore me but it always annoys me when the directors (European or American) make pretentious movies that try feed some hidden philosophy that simply isn't there. and there are people that praise them because they don't want to admit that they didn't understand a single thing in the movie.

after all that rant I still prefer American cinema, mostly because of the language I think. I can connect with the characters and the storyline better when I don't need a subtitle to understand what the characters are talking about. another thing is that I think Americans have a more traditional approach to s*ex and nudity in their movies, I don't like it when unnecessary se*xual content is forced in a movie and no matter how good the movie itself is, It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

And yes I want examples

I'm a newer to this post but I really intrested in this topic because I'm crazy about film every kind of films
so for the first discuss I stongly recommand you to watch"cinema paradiso"a movi from italy
thats perfect in acting, music and other ways . in this film you'll see how people in a far village are effected by cinema.their culture, behavior,and their definition of good and bad
of course this is my idea about movie . you'll have the same or diffrent opinio about it after you watch
and the best ending , absolutely this movie has one of the best final scene and ending

Yeah you're right. Javier Bardem makes really fits in bad guy roles. He showed it in "No Country for Old Men" ,too.

And about American and European cinema, I think it depends on my mode. Most of the time I like to watch movies which makes me interested in watching them. And I think American movies do this better. But some European movies also are great. Like "Malena" or once I watched a French movie named something like "Butterfly".

But I think I like American movie more.

I also prefer American movies, 1st reason is the language. Actually I can not understand English movies completely and I can not get the whole story but I prefer them and when I watch a movie with a strange language I feel like a deaf person who doesn't hear anything and just following the subtitle makes me angry. But I'm sure that there are so many movies which are deal far better than American onesl

Last night I watched "Margot at the wedding", it was a bit dull n boring
the acress of the movie was Nickol Kidman n the story was a bout two sisters who hadn't had relation for years but one of them invited the other for her wedding party so they saw each other after a long time and ... l

As I said it was a bit boring n I think you won't lose anything if u dun watch it
I rate it 5.5 out of 10
