Sword (Level 1)
Axe (Level 3)
Scout (Level 3)
Light cavalry (Level 2)
Ram (Level 1)
Catapult (Level 1)
you will have one extra you can add it to sword or Light cav.

Noble you do not have to research it is automatically researched and not for your first village you dont need HC.

Agreed, and upgrade sword too - they make good value defence!!
Also that suggested tech level only adds up to 14...

Froslass on 17.10. at 01:45 Quote Edit Delete
The secret to the best build for a village is NOT to max out every village just because they look nice, or because you want more points. They key is to keep every thing as minimal as you can.
Why would you have a minimilistic village?
Because many buildings use up lots of your population which could be better spent on troops. Also because later in the game morale is going to start helping if you grow fast, which I expect you all to do. So every method of cutting corners in points and to get more population is very useful, it could cost you a battle or two.
So, which buildings/levels don't I need?
Every building has it's uses, but for different circumstances/type of players and for different stages in the game. For example, if you're a very inactive player and you're being farmed a lot, you would want to build up your hiding place. This will never be needed for any of you, so don't even have a level 1 hiding place in any village. If you're not as active as you should be, you might fully upgrade your warehouse. We will all be very active so never max your warehouse (it won't eat up pop. But it will give you uneeded points!). Keep your warehouse at 26 or 27 in all villages. Your HQ should only ever be at 20 (or very near there), it eats up pop and gives out points like nobody's business, you don't really need to build your villages up faster than at lvl 20 speed.
Which buildings/levels do I need?
Level 20 wall in every village is a must. Level 25 barracks in every village is a must. An academy in every village is also a neccesity (offensive will produce nobles, defensive will supply the coins). 30/30/30 resources in every village. Farm at 30 in every village. In my opinion all other buildings are subject to change depending on what kind of village it is.
Typical structure for a defensive village
Village Headquarters (Level 20)
Barracks (Level 25)
Stable (Level 10)
Workshop (Level 15-0) <<< Some players have all the same so it's not obvious which village is an offensive and which is a defensive, I have mine at lvl 2 so I can make fake ram attacks there.
Academy (Level 1)
Smithy (Level 20)
Rally point (Level 1)
Market (Level 10-25) <<< I had mine at 18 in th other worlds so I could send my noble packages around easier, this won't be necessary here, so I will downgrade it significantly.
Timber camp (Level 30)
Clay pit (Level 30)
Iron mine (Level 30)
Farm (Level 30)
Warehouse (Level 26)
Hiding place (not constructed)
Wall (Level 20)
It's all about personal preference. I would suggest that if you have built your village properly then it should be around the 9k points mark, the same goes for basically all of your villages.
Typical structure for an offensive village
Village Headquarters (Level 20)
Barracks (Level 25)
Stable (Level 20)
Workshop (Level 2 - 15) <<< I have my workshop as lvl 7 in my villages, but that's just the way I like to have them.
Academy (Level 1)
Smithy (Level 20)
Rally point (Level 1)
Market (Level 10 - 25) <<< Did have these as lvl 17, I might bring that down further still this time around.
Timber camp (Level 30)
Clay pit (Level 30)
Iron mine (Level 30)
Farm (Level 30)
Warehouse (Level 26)
Hiding place (not constructed)
Wall (Level 20)
Typical structure for a scout/HC village
Village Headquarters (Level 20)
Barracks (Level 0 - 25) <<< this really depends on whether you're going to keep it as a scout/HC only village, or if you're going to build some defensive units in there too.
Stable (Level 15 - 20) <<< I would suggest having level 15 if it's going to be a defensive/scout,HC mix, and a level 20 if it's going to be just pure scouts or HC.
Workshop (Level 2)
Academy (Level 1)
Smithy (Level 20)
Rally point (Level 1)
Market (Level 10 - 25)
Timber camp (Level 30)
Clay pit (Level 30)
Iron mine (Level 30)
Farm (Level 30)
Warehouse (Level 26)
Hiding place (not constructed)
Wall (Level 20)

Just putting the guide that Arduin found on here.
I get this from my tribe in w9 , it can be some help to you guys
Here is a starting guide for those of you who need some advice in how to go on building your village and defenses. This strategy is pretty detailed and works seemingly well. You don't have to follow it strictly but try to be somewhere in the vicinity of this strategy and you will do well.
Starting up
If you have just started in your new village you have 5 days of protection, you should increase your mines for at least the first 3 days and then begin working towards an army. Getting an army before then is generally a bad idea unless you have an abandoned village immediately next to you that you could plunder easily otherwise you'd need to attack further out to find villages that are no longer protected. If you have no villages near you it could be a good idea to start over in a new location. If you're unsure about your location ask!
Up to 500 points:
Focus on getting your resources, if you're not getting attacked, which you probably wont because you'll be one of the largest players around, dont build any troops yet. If you do get attacked, build a few spears and a wall.
Upgrade until you have the following, starting with resources, hq and warehouse, after that build the farm upgrade, the barracks, the wall and the market.
Village Headquarters (Level 5)
Barracks (Level 1)
Rally point (Level 1)
Market (Level 1)
Timber camp (Level 17)
Clay pit (Level 17)
Iron mine (Level 17)
Farm (Level 4)
Warehouse (Level 14)
Hiding place (Level 4)
Wall (Level 8)
500-600 points:
Slow points gain in this period, focus on building your defense. This order worked best for me:
1) upgrade barracks to lvl 5, farm to lvl 6.
2) build a smithy
3) research swords
4a) build 400 swords and 400 spears
4b) while the unit queue gets bigger and bigger, upgrade barracks to lvl 10 and do some farm upgrades.
Village Headquarters (Level 5)
Barracks (Level 10)
Smithy (Level 1)
Rally point (Level 1)
Market (Level 1)
Timber camp (Level 17)
Clay pit (Level 17)
Iron mine (Level 17)
Farm (Level 11)
Warehouse (Level 14)
Hiding place (Level 4)
Wall (Level 8)
600-1000 points:
Now its time to start farming other villages. To do so, we better have light cavalry. Build in the following order:
1) clay and wood to lvl 20
2) iron and warehouse to lvl 18
3) build more defense until you have 1.5 per point again (you should have some spare iron)
4) upgrade HQ to lvl 10, then smithy to lvl 5
5) build stables and upgrade to lvl 3
6) research scouts and light cavalry
7) build 100 scouts and start scouting the villages around you, 3 at a time max, with max 20 scouts so you leave 40 scouts at home. put the names of villages without troops or with very little troops in your notebook
8) build 35 light cavalry, start attacking the villages you wrote down with all 35 cavalry at a time.
9a) from the resources you steal, build more cavalry
9b) from the resources you generate, build your wall up to level 15.
At 1000 points your village should look like this:
Village Headquarters (Level 10)
Barracks (Level 10)
Stables (Level 3)
Smithy (Level 5)
Rally point (Level 1)
Market (Level 1)
Timber camp (Level 20)
Clay pit (Level 20)
Iron mine (Level 18)
Farm (Level 16)
Warehouse (Level 18)
Hiding place (Level 4)
Wall (Level 15)
1000-2000 points:
In this stage we are going to get ready for warfare. We'll build up our resources to a point where we have a stable income. The sequence:
1) Build HQ to lvl 20
2) Build market to lvl 10
3) wood and clay to lvl 24
4) iron to lvl 22
5) make sure you have about 1400 swords and 1400 spears at the end, best start building spears first so you can save some iron for swords
6) also make sure you have around 500 scouts
At 2000 points, your village looks like:
Village Headquarters (Level 20)
Barracks (Level 10)
Stables (Level 3)
Smithy (Level 5)
Rally point (Level 1)
Market (Level 10)
Timber camp (Level 24)
Clay pit (Level 24)
Iron mine (Level 22)
Farm (Level 22)
Warehouse (Level 18)
Hiding place (Level 4)
Wall (Level 20)
2000-3000 points:
This is the final growing stage for our first village. Most important feature is building the smithy.
1) Upgrade iron to lvl 24
2a) research axemen
2b) upgrade warehouse to lvl 20
3a) start building 500 axemen minimum
3b) upgrade smithy to lvl 20
4) make sure you have about 350 light cavalry
5) make sure you have 750 scouts
6) get up to 2000 swords and 2000 spears.
Village Headquarters (Level 20)
Barracks (Level 15)
Stables (Level 10)
Smithy (Level 20)
Rally point (Level 1)
Market (Level 12)
Timber camp (Level 24)
Clay pit (Level 24)
Iron mine (Level 24)
Farm (Level 21)
Warehouse (Level 20)
Hiding place (Level 4)
Wall (Level 20)
3000+ points:
Now its time to build a workshop, and academy, at least 100 rams, and a nobleman.
