Cruyff Questions Barcelona Injury Crisis

Former Barcelona coach Johan Cruyff offered his opinion on the recent injury situation at Camp Nou...

In his weekly column in El Periódico de Catalunya, the Dutch master reflectedon the recent crisis that has seen players such as Yaya Toure, Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi and Deco laid up with knocks.

He said, "I'm not a doctor, nor am I involved with the Barça squad, but I'm surprised that at this stage of the season, at such a decisive moment, they needed three lads from the reserves to comprise a list."

He added, mysteriously, "In the end I'd like to see it that physical discomfort was not an unsurmountable obstacle to combining efforts."

In this sense, he praised Toure Yaya, who has previously played through the pain barrier.

"His decision should be an example to all," added Cruyff.

"It should be borne in mind for all those who are healthy and who apparently have a knock."

Deco Out For Two Weeks

Barcelona midfielder Deco is set to be out for up to two weeks after it was announced by the Blaugrana medical staff.

The Portuguese play maker had to pull out of the game against Celtic just minutes before kick off when he picked up a muscular injury during the warm up.
According to the medical reports the player strained a muscle in his right leg and so he will be out for at least a fortnight. The last time Deco featured for the Catalan club was against Valencia on February 27. The club informed the media that Deco pulled out of the Celtic clash as a precautionary measure.
It seems as if Barcelona are working hard to ensure the midfielder is fit and available for Frank Rijkaard when his side take on Schalke in the quarter finals of the Champions League in April.
The Blaugrana are currently trailing league leaders Real Madrid by a massive seven points and Rijkaard’s men drew 2-2 on the weekend away to Almeria to add to their recent problems in La Liga.
They have not won in three games and no doubt fans at Camp Nou will be hoping their side can get back to winning ways against Valladolid on Sunday afternoon.

Henry: Barca Like The Beatles

Thierry Henry says he is enjoying being at Barcelona, but admitted life at Camp Nou does get a little chaotic at times. Nevertheless, he's glad he made the move from Arsenal

The 30-year-old striker quit Arsenal for the Catalan giants last summer and has hit 13 goals for his new club this season.

He's often been played out of position on the left wing, but the French international insists he's still enjoying being at the club - it's just the chaos around the club that gets a little too much.

Quite The Experience

“It has been a fantastic experience," Henry told The Sun. "I am enjoying it. When you play with Barca away from home, it is chaos. When you travel with Barca, it’s like The Beatles are in town.

No Regrets

I don’t have any regrets (about leaving Arsenal)," he added. "Not at all. I’ve only been on the bench three times and one of those was for a rest. I have seven goals in the league, three in the Champions League and three in the cup. And I have eight assists. For a winger, that is not bad! I love London, don’t get me wrong. But I also love Barcelona. The weather here is amazing and the food.

Messi Wary Of Ronaldo, Torres And Drogba

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi admits he is wary of the threat posed in the Champions League by the English contingent of Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.

The Catalan club are generally seen as the only side left in the competition that are capable of ensuring the European Cup isn’t lifted by an English team, but Messi emphasised how daunting the task is by pointing out the number of world-class players the four Premiership boast in their ranks.

Describing the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Fernando Torres as “special”, Messi indicated that even if Barca were to get past Schalke and into the semi-finals the opposition sure to await them would take some overhauling.
"Manchester United are very good and Cristiano Ronaldo is a great player who I watch a lot," said Messi.
"The other top English teams - Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool - are capable of success too, because they have special players like Cesc Fabregas, Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres.
"The best Premier League clubs also have the experience of doing well in the Champions League."

Ronaldinho Doubtful For Valencia

Ronaldinho was only able to train for six minutes on Monday as he continues to suffer from a muscle injury in his right leg, despite questions over his absence from the team at the weekend.

The Brazilian was not included in the squad for the game against Almería and the media were sceptical over the reasons that he was left out.

Catalan daily El Periodico claimed that he was being punished for partying last Wednesday that meant he was unable to train the following day.

That was flatly denied by the club and the day after the draw in Almería, Ronaldinho appeared on the pitch in front of La Masia to try and run, but his session was brief.

As he returned to the gymnasium inside Camp Nou, it appeared that the former PSG star would not be ready in time to play against Valencia on Thursday.

Rafael Márquez, Touré Yaya and Giovani Dos Santos were not present at all as they all bid to recover from respective injuries that kept out at the weekend.

Márquez is on the verge of being given the green light after overcoming a blow to his right foot, while Giovani has a knock on his left ankle that could require surgery.

Touré is still out after picking up a slipped disc that may or may not need an operation to repair between now and the end of the season

روزنامه‌هاي عصر دوشنبه مونيخ ازعلاقمندي "لوسيو" بازيكن برزيلي خط دفاعي از بايرن مونيخ براي پيوستن به بارسلونا خبر دادند.
به گزارش ايسنا، سرگروه تيم ملي برزيل با وجود قراردادي كه تا سال2010 با تيم مونيخي دارد خواستار ترك اين تيم در تابستان آينده است.
گفته مي شود اين بازيكن خط دفاعي سران بايرن را از تصميم خود آگاه كرده است. بارسلونا قراردادي چهارساله به اين بازيكن ارائه كرده است. مبلغ اين جدايي 15 تا 20 ميليون يورو برآورد مي‌شود.
اين بازيكن خط دفاعي تابستان گذشته هم از ترك بايرن صحبت كرده بود او اين بار سرماي هواي آلمان را علت تصميمش خوانده است.
لوسيو گفت:‌ پس از زمستان هفت ماه در آلمان از سرماي هوا خسته هستم در سرماي هوا تمرين و بازي كردن برايم بسيار سخت است.
او در گفت‌وگو با پايگاه اينترنتي خود درباره اخبار پيوستنش به بارسلونا ابراز كرد: بارسلونا شهر بسيار زيبايي است و شهر بسيار امني است كه فرهنگ آنجا من را به ياد برزيل مي اندازد.
