it is good, but not based on structures.. I mean I sometimes lost the point while reading yr summary... I do recommend u to go thru some grammar books besides catching up on some articles....
but since u've never been in Eng class then I gotta say that was perfect...keep goingl

    پيش فرض Past Continuous

    Past Continuous

    FORM

    was/were + ing

it means in past you was in the middle of doing somthing

    Examples:

    • You were studying when she called.
    • Were you studying when she called?
    • You were not studying when she called.

    I / he / she / it was - was not

you / we / they were - were not

there is different between Past Continuous

    and past simple

in past simple you did Completed Action

but in Past Continuous you was in the middle of an action

    p.s

     I saw a movie yesterday.

     I didn't see a play yesterday.

 Last year, I traveled to Japan.

 Last year, I didn't travel to Korea.

    p.c

 I was listening to my iPod

 You were not listening to me when I told you to turn the oven off.

 While John was sleeping last night, someone stole his car.

We use p.s & p.c together to say that something happened in the middle of something else.

Ali phoned while we were having dinner

I WAS HAVING DINNER AT 11 PM

1st of all u know what? by that sentence I actually was thinking that u would answer the questions of other friends and me about this tenseany how
About ur 1st Q. As i got from ur post u want to remind me of the point which i didn't mention. So
honestly speeking i don't know ur answer exactly.plz inform me of that if u or anybody else knows but what i can say now is that the condition i wrote is aplicable in most of the cases but present prefect tense has many uses more than what mentioned in the lesson

And about the 2nd one, there are many differences btw present prefect and past simple but as far as their usage is concerned
    Past simple
An exact time is mentioned(yesterday, last year
It is used for older passed events
and the time period is finished now

    present prefect
The exact time is not mentioned
It is used for recent happenings
the time period has not finishes (as its name shows present prefect
Waiting for one of u to correct my mistake...

    Hello All

Could I ask you, type in complete format of words?

    I can't understand .

    like :
    "gotta ask two questions:
just two Qs...If I say 'I have watched Titanic' n imagine that 'I've forgotten the story', dun remember even a bit I just now that I've watched it....then wot's the effect now?!... l"
    sorry
    I try to follow it
    n= and
    wot= what
    dun = don't

1st of all u know what? by that sentence I actually was thinking that u would answer the questions of other friends and me about this tenseany how
sure I do... I answer the questions which I've info aboutl
About ur 1st Q. As i got from ur post u want to remind me of the point which i didn't mention. So
honestly speeking i don't know ur answer exactly.plz inform me of that if u or anybody else knows but what i can say now is that the condition i wrote is aplicable in most of the cases but present prefect tense has many uses more than what mentioned in the lesson
honestly, I don't know either... I dun know why it has been mentioned in lots of books but I see no reason! I think that is Present Perfect Continious in which we can feel the effects...
but I'd be thankful if anybody would come n explain it to usl

And about the 2nd one, there are many differences btw present prefect and past simple but as far as their usage is concerned
    Past simple
An exact time is mentioned(yesterday, last year
It is used for older passed events
and the time period is finished now

    present prefect
The exact time is not mentioned
It is used for recent happenings
the time period has not finishes (as its name shows present prefect
Waiting for one of u to correct my mistake...

I was waiting for that the time period has not finished in present perfect n that's sth which most of the students have problem with; as an example: I've eaten Pizza this week

I think Present Perfect is one of the most important parts of the English grammar, n if u all pay attention u can see that native speakers use it alot while speaking; so hope u all understand it well n try to use it more often in yr speeches... if there is any question left, don't hesitate to ask

    Good luck guysl
n thaanks to Reyhaneh for describing it in its best possible way

    Snickers Arrives

we didn't have a cat for a couple of years after one of our cats had died. and my parents didn't really want to get a pet because it was always hard for_ it was always hard for us the kids when one of the pets would die. but a lot of people used to bring in pets to where my dad would work cuz they would find them on the streets and they would need new homes. so one day... someone, one of the ladies who works for my dad, brought in a little cat. and she was little and she was pretty calm. and my dad picked her up and he took her and she just sat on his lap all day. and she was all cuddly and cute. and she was all so friendly. and she would follow him around. and my dad thought this would be the perfect pet for my kids. so he packs Snickers up in this little picnic basket and he brought her home in the car. he hadn't told any of us then. he got into the house. he just told me_ he's like "Stephanie, there's something in the car, go out and get it." so i went out into the car and pull up this picnic basket and all of a sudden this little head popped up. and i was like"it's a cat, it's a cat." and we were all so happy to have this cat. so i brought her into the house and all sudden she saw four little kid faces and eight little hands trying to reach out and grab her. and she ran and she hid in the closet. and from that very day on she hasn't been very friendly.
