The Samsung Galaxy S III has a curvy design, unlike its predecessor. The screen has grown to an impressive 4.8", but the thinner bezel partially makes up for that and the phone hasn't grown that much bigger. At 133g, it's pretty easy to carry, too.
The phone is a 0.1mm thicker than its predecessor, but there's no hump at the back, so the thickness is a lot more uniform. The Galaxy S III will launch in Pebble Blue (which is nearly black) and Marble White. It's made of glossy plastic created using a brand new manufacturing process that Samsung calls Hyperglaze.

The Samsung Galaxy S III in Pebble Blue and Marble White
The screen is a whopping 4.8" big - topping even the HTC Titan II. Anyway, the resolution is 720p (as expected), but Super AMOLED screen uses a PenTile Matrix, as opposed to a conventional RGB one. Still, our first impressions of the Gorilla Glass 2-coverd display are extremely positive - it's even less reflective than that of the Samsung Galaxy S II and offers outstanding image quality.
When we popped open the back, we found a huge 2,100mAh battery accompanied by a microSD and a microSIM card slots (yep, no more regular SIM). The internal storage will come in three capacities - 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.
The phone is powered by an Exynos chipset, featuring a 32nm 1.4GHz quad-core Cortex-A9 processor and 1GB of RAM. The software is Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich - no surprise here. It uses the latest TouchWiz software with a five column UI, but no - there aren't on-screen buttons, Samsung decided to rely on hardware buttons once again.

Samsung Galaxy S III runs the latest TouchWiz on top of Ice Cream Sandwich
There are several cool new usability features - most notably eye tracking and new voice commands. The eye tracking switches the display on and off, depending on whether the phone sees you looking at it (Samsung calls this Smart Stay). Samsung has also extended the voice command capabilities of the smartphone - the latest offering is called S Voice.
S Voice is obviously Samsung's answer to Siri. You activate it by saying "Hi Galaxy!". You can ask it about the weather, but you can also ask the phone to take a picture. Language support is its strongest weapon - besides English dialects, S Voice also understands Italian, German, French, Spanish and Korean.
The Galaxy S III also comes with a feature called Smart alert - when the phone detects that you have picked it up, it will vibrate if you have missed events.
The innovation doesn't stop here - Pop-up Play allows you to move the video player into a small floating window and continue watching while using another app.

The Samsung Galaxy S III features an 8MP camera with burst shot mode, which lets you take 3.3 shots per second. The phone also tracks people's faces and can automatically pick the best one of the several photos taken in quick succession.

The camera features burst mode and can automatically pick the best photo
Face zoom allows you to zoom in on peoples faces with a double tap. Face detection features continues - the software will automatically group photos, based on the people in the shot.
Much like the HTC One series, the Samsung Galaxy S III can take photos while recording 1080p video. The video camera has video stabilization, too.

720p PenTile Super AMOLED display

One of the big mysteries ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S III announcement was about its screen – will Samsung use a SuperAMOLED HD display similar to the one on the Galaxy Nexus or go the SuperAMOLED Plus route like the Galaxy Tab 7.7.


We got close enough to the S III to snap a macro shot, which quickly revealed that Samsung has chosen a PenTile matrix for its flagship droid.
The green subpixel is long and thin, while the blue subpixel is of the same length but thicker. As for the red subpixel, appears rounder, which indicates that it’s shorter than the other two subpixels.
All this points to the matrix used in the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. That one used long thin green subpixels, thicker blues and shorter reds.
We have to point out that the 720p resolution on a 4.8″ screen works out to 306ppi pixel density and the display appears tack sharp. You can see the PenTile if you look close enough, but you will have a hard time noticing it in regular usage.

Samsung Galaxy S III gets Flipboard exclusivity on Android, 50GB from Dropbox

Flipboard, a popular social-network aggregation app, is launching for Android exclusively on the S III (it will come to other devices later). The other feat is a roomy free online storage from Dropbox.

Flipboard rose to popularity as an iOS app, but S III owners will be the first droid users to enjoy the magazine-like format for social media and RSS feeds. The app competes against Google’s own Currents and Pulse (which came preinstalled on some older Galaxy models). The app also offers a widget for at a glance info.
The Dropbox deal is reminiscent to deals of other carriers and unfortunately includes the 2 year tilit (that is, it’s not a life-time thing). Anyway, with a Galaxy S III your storage will be boosted to 50GB, which is double what you get out of an HTC One phone.

خوب بالاخره شکایتها و غر زدنها و تیکه و کنایه های اپل کار خودشو کرد و سامسونگ مجبور شد به سمت یه دیزاین متفاوت بره که به نظرم اصلا خوب کار نکرده. سامسونگ خواسته یه دیزاین متفاوت و در عین حال منحصر به فرد ارائه بده که امضای خودش پای محصول باشه اما غافل از اینکه ر..ه !!! ..پشت گوشی هم که بشدت احساس چیپ بودن و جنس ارزون و بی دووم رو به ادم میده..

فعلا که اطلاعات انچنانی در مورد پرفرمنس و قابلیتهای نرم افزاری سخت افزاری این گوشی بیرون نیومده یعنی تست درست حسابی نشده (البته ظاهرا gsmarena بنچمارک رو ارائه داده اما دوربین و صفحه نمایش و چیزای دیگه بطور دقیق تست نشدن)...اما مطمئنا دوربین و باتری از GSII بهتر خواهند بود..میمونه مشکل Pentile و super amoled plus نبودن صفحه که بنظرم اینقدرها حاد نیستن...فقط باید با دیزاین گوشی کنار بیاین که خداییش کار اسونی نیست!!! یعنی من یکی که خداییش حاضر نیستم همچین چیزی رو دستم بگیرم! حتی اگه مفتی بدن ..!

پ.ن : به نظرم سامسونگ تو معرفی گلکسی 3 عجله کرد. هنوز گلکسی 2 داره خوب میفروشه ( حتی گلکسی 1 هم داره خیلی خوب میفروشه ) و تقریبا همه ی نیارهای کاربرها رو جواب میده و احتیاجی به Quad نیست. کار کمپانی ها داره به جایی میکشه که به جای برطرف کردن نیازهای مردم دنبال کل انداختن و پوز زنی تو قدرت سخت افزاری هستن! واقعا چه برنامه و بازی پیدا میشه که احتیاج به اینهمه قدرت گوشیهایی مثل one x یا همین GSIII داشته باشه؟ درسته که قابلیت های نرم افزاری زیادی به این گوشی اصافه شده اما همین قابلیتها رو میشه با سخت افزار Gs2 هم براحتی اجرا کرد.. الان خیلی ها میگن که این گوشی 6 ماه تا 1 سال دیگه از رده خارج میشه و دیگه جوابگو نخواهد بود اما این استدلال درستی نیست چونکه نرم افزاری برای استفاده از اینهمه قدرت بیرون نیومده ! همین الان با یه GS I تقریبا اکثر نیازهای افراد برطرف میشه. بازم تاکید میکنم این قضیه فقط یه جور پوز زنی بین شرکتهاس که با ارتقای سخت افزاری بتونن مشتریهای همدیگه رو بقاپن و فروش رو بالا ببرن و ملت رو سرکیسه کنن ! تا 6 ماه 1 سال دیگه هم تا بیای از همه ی قدرت Gs3 استفاده کنی بلافاصله Gs4 میاد و 3 بی استفاده میشه در حالیکه هنوز بسیاری از قابلیت های 3 دست نخورده باقی مونده و استفاده ای ازش نشده !
