First off, with this frigging low speed connection I just can browse this forum, nothing more
Anyway, talking about old school bands, what do you think of "Se.x Pistols"? I rate them above The Beatles. They were no bland by any means. They were rebellious and pioneers. Not to mention that they had attitude: Undermine the rules and never get caught alive!! Sadly, the band had a very short life

It is a matter of tasteIt's just what kind of a sound you prefer. I prefer the popish sound of the Beatles and I LOVE AND LOVE AND LOVE their vocal harmonies. I believe they captured the spirit of the 60s at its best and no need to say that 60s is my favorite decade.
As for --- Pistols it's no question that they were pioneers in developing the sound of Punk music but although I respect them very much I'm not a fan of their music. Different strokes for different folks.
I am also a fan of Beatles, I just compared the attitudes of two grand bands. BTW, I have 26 songs from them and I love them all from kiddie songs like "yellow submarine" to more serious stuff like "Let it be" (Their best song, imo)
Blessed Be

good choice ... Cryin' is awesome too
P.S: checked Twist and Shout recently... loved it! ...
I always loved The Clash better ... (as an English Punk band)
pardon my sayin so but evanescence is such a pain in the ass.
try listening to black label society or ozzy osbourne or disturbed or some Hardrock stuff it's gonna change ur mind like nobody's business.
I also feel some morbid feeling when I listen to Amy's voice

Any of you guys know "The 69 eyes"? I totally dig their songs and all. Their genre is Gothic/Glam rock and their music is heavily influenced by the bands such as "The doors" and "The sister of mercy" and so on. Give them a listening, you may like them too. l
For the start check this song: Never say die
One thing that I like about this band is their religious lyrics, in their lyrics you can clearly see the struggles within a Christian. From one hand he longs for breaking some religious borders but from other hand he feels regret..though this is my interpretation and I could be wrong. In addition, They have some good horror story songs
A part of their lyrics: l
Well well well, what can I tell
I've been out three more days but I'm still doing swell
I fall in love everyday but I never give my heart away
'Cause I still got some respect for you in the end
...
Only you can save me, Lord
Mmm
Don't you come any closer to the world you don't

Hey! Cool to know you like some of their songs. Have you heard Helter Skelter? (by the Beatles of course). Supposedly it's the song that drove Charles Manson to the edge of madness (although I believe it was just an excuse for him to go nuts with his evil intentions)the whole White Album actually. But it's their hardest hitting song and from my impression you seem to like the louder types of Rock so I highly recommend you to check it out.

Yeah I like Cryin' too!
Twist and shout is one of those covers that I like better than the original. It's just sooooo good that it surpasses the original by miles. I know you all probably know by now that I'm a beatles nuts) but seriously they recorded this album (Please please me) in one day and Lennon's voice was giving out by the time they got to this track (it's the last track) and he still sounds so great and rocking!
