    Howdy dear buddy(!),

.... just been a bit busy over the pass few days....
    pass days or past days?l

Bit by bit, it's time to pack your suitcases, leave happiness and comfort behind and begin dealing with a lot of problems. Anxious .. huh?!

Regarding my and your (!) question about the ugly girl, some people say that God has created an ugly (or even handsome) boy for her and they will find each other and fall in love and ... . I myself have seen many examlpes of spouses that the woman is ugly and the man is good (or vice versa) while they are happy and fortunate. I don't know the answer myself either. Regarding Mr. Ahmadinejad, I agree, we've better forget about himl

I cannot express how I enjoy reading your responses, with your neat and professional(!) English (compared to mine). I'd like to ask thousands of questions, but I know you are so busy these days (and you will be much busier after coming here ), hence please answer these two questions.

1- Why do you think Hollywood movies (or a big proportion of them) are rubbish?l
2- From English language point of view, what's the difference between 'it's not good ...' and 'it's no good ...'?l

    Thanks in advance.

If you finally could get the Visa, please inform us. You need some very important advices!! First of all, don't burn all your boats in London, maybe you couldn't tolerate living in Iran for 1 year (and probably this is the case).

    Good luck,
    Yours sincerely,
    Amir

And Petros means 'Officials' I guess

    Howdy Petros

A material that we apply to (Can we use Rub?) metal in order to prevent rusting? What is that material? It's red and it is used before painting the metal. I mean Zedde Zang
    'Apply' is better for metals.
I'm afraid I don't know what this material is! I do remember painting metal before, but I don't think we applied anything to prevent rusting. I will ask a painter!

    ?What's different Between Reach, Arrive
What's the difference between reach and arrive

They have similar meanings but can't be used interchangeably all the time. Do you know about transitive and intransitive verbs? Reach is transitive, arrive is not.The basic formula is reach = arrive at

Take this street, and you will [reach / arrive at] the park.
    When I arrive there
    NOT When I reach there

In addition, 'reach' has different meanings which are separate from 'arrive'. For example:

I was trying to reach you by telephone
= I was trying to contact you

Do you use the word Responsible for people who are in charge of doing country affairs? E.g
In our Country, Poverty is really obvious, Responsibles should think about that. I mean Mass'oolan

No we don't use 'responsible' in this sense. You could say, 'The people in charge of X'

Do you use the word Fit just for clothes or everything? E.g
It doesn't fit you to smoke Or It doesn't fit you to be good-tempered. I mean Behet Nemi'yad

No you can't use 'fit' here but you can use befit

It doesn't befit you to smoke

Suit can be used much more widely
It doesn't suit you to be smoking
It doesn't suit you to be good-tempered

Would you mind saying some frequently used Soccer Terms that reporter of the game says? I just know chest trap

Would you mind saying some frequently used Soccer Terms that reporters of the game use? I just know chest trap

I don't really want to talk about football tonight because my team (Liverpool) lost again so I am very upset!

:There are many terms which reporters use but a few

    Header
    attack /defence
    hand-ball
    penalty
    Offside
    Possession
    Midfield
    Substitute
    Stadium
    Pitch
    Corner
    Throw-in
    Cross
    Pass
    Shot

But commentators always speak very fast so it can be difficult understanding them!

Hehe, you are right teacher! I meant to write 'past days' Sorry, I type quite fast and I should have gone through it again since my use of English is being so closely scrutinised here!

I cannot express how MUCH I enjoy reading your responses, with your neat and professional(!) English (compared to mine). I'd like to ask thousands of questions, but I know you are so busy these days (and you will be much busier after coming here ), hence please answer these two questions.

Thank you but your written English really is at a very good level. If you would to like to improve further I recommend reading some of the better English authors. Pay attention also to the usage of idioms by English speakers. The correct usage of idioms tends to distinguish the native speaker of English from a foreign speaker.

1- Why do you think Hollywood movies (or a big proportion of them) are rubbish?l
I do like some Hollywood films but many films I find repetitious and boring. In particular, I dislike most films with Bruce Willis! But this is a matter of personal taste!

2- From AN English language point of view, what's the difference between 'it's not good ...' and 'it's no good ...'?l
'It's not good' is the correct phrase. Although you will hear many English speakers using the second, it is grammatically incorrect. But as with Persian and other languages ,we don't really obey all the grammatical rules in informal speech. This can be very confusing for foreigners coming to Britain or the US for the first time!

    Hey pal,
Thank you for your detailed responses

1- In a reading comprehension part of an English test, what strategy is better? Reading the whole passage and then answering, or, at first, reading the questions and then try to find the answers and not reading all the passage

2- Would you please say how are these formulas read in English? I mean please write how you read them

Excuse me for being so much trouble

Thanks a million for your responses in advance

In a reading comprehension part of an English test, WHICH strategy is better? Reading the whole passage and then answering, or, at first, reading the questions and then tryING to find the answers WITHOUT reading all the passage

It depends how much time you have. But generally, I think it is much smarter to read the questions first. That way you know what information you need to find when you read through it

I'm afraid I can't help you with the formula! I'm not very good at maths and I don't even know how to say the formula correctly. I advise asking a mathematician! Sorry
