Negredo Dreaming Of Madrid Return
The 23-year-old Almería striker goes up on Sunday against the club where he spent two years and thinks that he would show the Bernabéu outfit that they were wrong to let him go.
After moving to Madrid from Rayo Vallecano, Negredo moved on to Almería in 2007 with a buy-back clause included in the deal but that has not been used despite his impressive performances.
Both Soldado and Portillo returned to Madrid after spending a season out on loan, but neither were given much chance and have now left on permanent deals.
"Madrid spoke to my agent in the summer, but since the start they told me that they would not exercise the buy-back option. But I am very happy to stay here," he told AS.
"I really do not know, but I have ambitions in my career and one of them is to play for Madrid. But that is not the be all and end all.
"Everyone has dreams and I think that I could play there and be a success. I hope to be given the chance."
Instead of thinking about scoring for Madrid on Sunday, Negredo hopes to repeat his exploits from last season and net past Iker Casillas once again in the Estadio del Mediterráneo.
"I would hand over a fortune to score again against Casillas. We want to put the heavy defeat by Barcelona behind us," he continued.
"But he can win games on his own. At times they have almost thrown matches away, but he has saved them."
Negredo was then asked about the refereeing controversy surrounding Madrid and he admitted that he has not been impressed by the club's outbursts.
"We do not worry about the referees and Madrid should do see even less. If we did, we could argue that we should have had three penalties against Getafe that were not given," he added.
