The Quick Reaction Force, or QRF, is something I have seen used successfully by several top tribes. Essentially, each player will be required to maintain, in addition to whatever defenses they require for their own use, a smaller set of troops that can be deployed at the command of the tribe leaders for defense of tribe members. The idea is that if EVERY player within a reasonable distance can contribute a relatively small amount of troops to the defense of a single player, then the combined army will be massive enough to stop any attack.
The QRF force you will be required to maintain and deploy at the discretion of tribe leaders is:
If you have..............then you contribute (
/
)
1.000-2.000 points............100/100
2.000-7.999 points............200/200
8.000-24.999 points..........500/500
25.000-49.999 points........1000/1000
50.000-99.999 points........1500/1500
Every additional 50.000 points after that adds another 500 of each troop type to the required amount. You don't need to contribute if you have less than 1000 points. Just build up your village and your troops.
All players are required to maintain the posted amount at all times, with only very rare exceptions. Exceptions will not be made for a player who is spread too thin due to recent ennobling of villages. Remember, these armies are to be kept in addition to whatever armies are necessary for your own gameplay. These troops belong to the tribe, and having them available when they are needed is not optional.
- Should you receive a command to deploy your QRF and cannot do so, you will subsequently become ineligible for future QRF assistance. In addition, our Defense General XVI9 may spit on you.
- Exceptions may be made for players who have recently lost significant troops due to an attack on their village or a village which contained their QRF. These exceptions will be decided solely by the tribe leaders after considering the circumstances.
- Should one's QRF be destroyed, the player will be allowed sufficient time to rebuild it. However, it is vital that the defensive troops be rebuilt first, before any additional offensive troops are recruited.
- The QRF will be deployed only by select QRF Officers, who will be granted the authority by tribe leaders (for now, it will be just Cheste23 and XVI9]).
- QRF Officers will generally deploy in fractions. For example, if a threat is deemed of low risk, the Officer might only deploy one fifth (1/5) of your QRF. Higher risk attacks or ennobling attempts in progress might get half or full QRF.
- The QRF will only be deployed in the event of real, not just perceived, danger. This might mean that we will require you to wait until at least one attack has landed, so that we can better gauge the danger level. DO NOT SCREAM IN EVERY SUPPORT THREAD FOR QRF SUPPORT! All you have to do is describe any incoming attacks, fill us in on any pertinent information, and follow any directions or advice we give. When it has been determined that QRF deployment is appropriate, we will tell you.
- Each player will be required to create a list of the eight players closest to him. This map will help you find the closest players. You will be required to maintain this list and to include it in any forum support requests. The QRF Officer who deploys the QRF will also use this as a mailing list to send personal messages to everyone required to assist you. Without this list, there is no QRF. You have to make the list.
I understand if you feel that this is a lot. But it's not... you just have to build the troops, and make the list. That's it. Once everyone has done that, we have a near-invincible method of helping any tribemate who is under heavy attack. Unless that player is being ennobled by a very close enemy, usually there is at least 24 hours in which to load a village with troops and block the attack. With troops available, and an active tribe who regularly check the forum, we should have no problem protecting each other from any and all attacks.
So get started on those troops, take a look at the map and start making your list. It's going to take a little practice before we get it all working, so we may have drills at some point.
I'd like to have everyone ready to go within 1 week.
