this one is a slang and it is used by rude American people
It beats me = I don't know
(منظورم اینه که این slang توسط قشر لات و پات آمریکایی به کار میره و به جای i don't know اینو میگن)

I never saw it as a rude one ... back to our little discussion while ago : it's informal but not impolite ...

example :
