Sony Ericsson Wont Be Ready For Windows Phone 7 Launch
As many of you probably already know, Microsoft will launch their new mobile operating system, Windows Phone 7, on Monday (11th of October). Microsoft have made sure that a number of mobile manufacturers will be ready with at least one Windows Phone 7 device at the launch, but despite being one of the partners working on the new operating system, Sony Ericsson isn’t going to be presenting any Windows Phone 7 devices on Monday.
This, however, doesn’t mean that Sony Ericsson won’t be announcing any future products with Windows Phone 7. They will, don’t worry. It’ll just take a bit longer than the rest of the industry players, which sadly isn’t that big of a surprise these days. Let’s hope they manage to pull off something better than the earlier attempts, shall we? Anyway, the above information comes from a trustworthy source.
PS. I’ve had some time to spend with Windows Phone 7 and it looks killer. I’m especially fond of the fact that you can easily create applications using Visual Basic or Visual C#.
Sony Ericsson LiveView to come in November for 69 euro
We’ve got some good news for those of you waiting for the Sony Ericsson LiveView. Apparently the device will come as early as next month and will be priced at the very reasonable 69 euro (96 US dollars).
The tiny accessory that can be worn as watch was announced a couple of weeks ago but those important details weren’t mentioned at the time. Now you can rest assured that it will neither take too long to appear, nor cost an arm and a leg. There are even rumors that its price will be as low as 59 euro, which translates to 82 dollars.
We guess this is all good news for the XPERIA owners too. Since the LiveView is only compatible with handsets running Android 2.0 or later, so Sony Ericsson should have pushed the Éclair update to their Android lineup by November or customers will have to get a competitor’s phone to use it.
