ای بابا
With the first announcement from Konami Entertainment on PES 2010 coming quite early in the year, it seems as if they have it in mind to start the ball rolling and cause a bit of a stir already. As Dan mentioned soon after the release, it’s all about the PR; and even though I’m a cynic when it comes to the dynamics of Pes ‘10’s online play, I can’t help but get a little excited! I’m interested to see that they’ve mentioned the goalkeepers in the first paragraph on gameplay, and it will be nice to see how many of the points from Dougie’s list have been noticeably worked on and improved.
As I am a regular visitor to the forums, it would seem that quite a lot of people are vying towards ‘360 degree movement’ - and I have to say I’d agree with the opinion that this would be a good addition. I can’t help but feel that this year’s edition really is going to be crunch-time for Konami. A couple of years ago I would have laughed off suggestions that Fifa and Pes (or EA and Konami if you wish) would soon be battling for the top football games ‘crown’, but it looks like the 2010 editions of these franchises will be better than ever, and this is a point I believe in. And again, thanks to all of you; who make this the top Pro Evolution Soccer fansite by visiting regularly, leaving hundreds of comments even in these ‘barren months’, and suggesting improvements for the game we all share a passion for.

endorphin is the industry's first 3D animation tool based on Dynamic Motion Synthesis. With endorphin, animators can create animation data in a fraction of the time of traditional techniques such as key-framing and motion capture.
endorphin is in use at many visual effects studios (e.g. MPC, The Mill, Sony Imageworks), game studios (e.g. Sony, EA, Namco, Konami) and simulation companies (e.g. Airbus, Northrop Grumman).

Euphoria Engine in PES 2010
As a start for PES2010, and the animations to be used, I think the dev team should first focus on specific players, Ronaldo and Rooney at United, Torres and Gerrard at Liverpool, Arshavin and Fabregas at Arsenal etc - the big players from the big teams. Effort should be put into making these players look and feel that little bit different. Pushing on from the post above, the endorphin could be used to create many different animations quickly and cheaply - this could allow the devs to ensure these top players do look and feel that little bit differently, each having a set of animations unique to them that represent their style. For me, this would be enough.
Ideally in a perfect game everyone would run that little bit differently and be a representation of how they run in real life; but i don't think this is practical. I don't really care if most of the players run the same, or share a small number of styles between them, but i'd like to see a difference between Ronaldo and Carrick, for instance.
Will certainly be interesting to see what Konami announce regarding the animation, cause Adam is hinting that it is BIG, and to be honest, I thought Mo-Cap was a fairly big step forward for Konami and PES
ust bringing this thread back to the idea of advanced animation and the possibility of the Euphoria engine with PES2010.. Having listened to one of the recent podcasts, Suff and Adam hinted at some big news being revealed at some stage about animation in PES2010.
As someone mentioned earlier in this thread, the Endorphin animation engine is 'in use at Konami.'

From the company FAQ:
Endorphin and euphoria are both based on Dynamic Motion Synthesis (DMS). This means they are capable of synthesising animation data in real-time. but endorphin uses DMS to create canned (or baked) animation data (but much faster than key-framing or mocap).
So Endorphin is not real time animation created on the fly in game, but animation created at the studio. However it can produce large numbers of very realistic animations for use in games very quickly and cheaply. (I imagine rather like 'Speedtree' can produce large numbers of unique and realistic trees for use in games etc.)
And now some speculation from me about what this means for PES2010.. well, we might hope to see vastly improved animations, with really natural motion (no more 'Baywatch runs'), Although animation will not be rendered on the fly (like with euphoria), we would see_vastly_increased numbers of canned animations, including perhaps different running styles for different player weights, heights and strengths etc, as well as different shooting, collision/tackle animations based upon all these factors too. There may be enough animations created with Endorphin that you never have the feeling of seeing the same one too often..
In short, with realistic animations and greatly increased numbers of animations, it may truly feel like a whole new PES...fingers crossed. Again I stress this is purely my own speculation...and hope(!)
But what do you think, Adam?
This would be huge news, because PES animation has been stuck in the dark ages IMO. I am not even sure much of it is motion-captured, looking at the quality of it.
Konami Communication
I think now they have finally got to grips with the PS3. They have said they have had trouble with it and it was the key factor in 2008 being so poor. Being a 360 gamer myself i have nothing but resentment for the PS3 as in my eyes its been holding Pes back. Lots of developers are saying the same thing about the PS3 being difficult to work with but now i rekon Seabass has got it worked out right. 2008 was rubbish because they didnt have enough time to work on it due to the PS3 delay, 2009 was ok and was there to stabilize the fear among pes fans and now 2010 will be the year where they have worked out how to get it programed right and fully working.
Im just pretending that 2008 and 2009 never happend. They may be cack versions of a great series but their demise wasnt in the ability of seabass and his team but the complicated technology they were working with. They had great ideas etc but they couldnt implement them. I am seing this version as being arguably the best version yet and am not afraid to say it. Pes 4,5 and 6 imo are imense but i am feeling like 2010 will be returning to the good old days and will be a step up from the PS2 glory days and will finally be a true next gen title with next gen gameplay. I dont see it being a step up from 2008 or 2009, i see it being a step up from pes 6 on the ps2.
This may have already been covered properly, and I know I have mentioned it myself before, but thought I would start a thread on it. (sorry if there already is one)
Basically, I am wondering how people think Konami should be communicating with the fanbase this time round.
With the early release of the press release, and the mass of information it contained, I feel Konami are learning, and really are making an effort to improve this year. Last year we had a lot of talk about how they were going to wow us early and often, but it never really happened, and it was something commented on more and more by Adam and Suff the closer we got to October 2008. So while there are promises again this year, whether we trust them is another matter entirely.
Personally I would like to see Konami really show us what they have got early, and update us regularly, and I would like to see them branch out in how they communicate.
I would like to see them really intigrate the likes of WENB and PESfan and use them as a real channel to the community, get the guys like Adam and Suff involved and allow them to share.
I would like to see them get a few of the developers on blogging sites, and twitter, giving us regular updates on how the development process is going, like Cliffy B (I think) did with Gears of War 2.
They should also get the official PES2010 site up early, and use it a lot - put all the info they release on it, as soon as it is released; and release a lot of information to it. Video diaries, blogs, images, animation video's, 'Ask the Dev' sections etc could be published on it. Also, they could use it as a count down to new info being released, with some clues to further drive the community hype.
Anyone have any other ideas on how Konami should be including the community this time round

میگه این ایده آله که نوع دویدن هر بازیکن با بقیه فرق کنه اما من تا این حد هم راضیم که این اختلاف حداقل در بازیکنان بزرگ وجود داشته باشه .The Endorphin animation engine is made by the same company as Euphoria. If we assume that PES2010 is going to take advantage of the Endorphin animation engine, what does it mean for us? And how is Endorphin animation engine different from Euphoria?

PES 2010
First Blog Entry from the PES Team
Hi everyone.
Welcome to the start of our PES blogs. Let me introduce myself. I'm Naoya Hatsumi, PES Producer and I'll be bringing you regular behind the scenes info on how we're getting on with PES2010.
It's a bit manic at our Tokyo HQ at the moment. We've got short and long term plans for PES and Winning Eleven and for several months we've been reorganising
internally to make sure our baby really grows. We've got different teams working on different aspects not only for 2010, but well beyond. We've got ideas how this needs to happen and thanks to feedback from Europe we know what is important to you. It's a great start but we have to keep the process going.
So our first announcement is out. We've tried to give a good general overview to the development without giving everything away at once. We'll be adding more details and explaining improvements in greater depth in the coming months.
Since the beginning of April, Tokyo has been enjoying cherry blossoms. If they had missed sunshine, rains and the chill of the Winter, they would not have come into flower. We've got the inputs for PES we need, which will take PES2010 into bloom this Autumn!

PES Kick off
We've just finished the first PES2010 announcement, which I'm really pleased with, especially being able to mention so much so early. Plenty to talk about and plenty more to come!
Before I get going with my first blog entry, just a brief intro. I've been at Konami for over 10 years. Life-long PES fan and for the past couple of years I've been PES Team Leader for Europe.
Our focus from now on is to put the fans at the heart of everything. The process started before PES2009 even launched and I've been collecting feedback since from some really valuable sources. Huge thanks to the fan sites and journalists who've been providing excellent feedback. Understandably some of the comments I've
fed back to WEP have been negative and many users have questioned Konami's listening skills. My job this year and looking further into the future will be make sure the voices of our fans heard and push for their feedback to really impact on development.
It won't happen over night, but I have to say that honestly I've been impressed with the way the team are listening.
