    Another interview with Seabass here, this time from Eurogamer.de.

    In the interview, he talks about a change in approach during development, 360 control and of course, online gameplay

    “2009 was not a good year for PES Productions. On the slow search for the perfect balance for one, but surely lost the game superannuated Tokyo's progress from his eyes and had to be unanimous, according to press enter over the second thoughts out of the house once eternal EA beaten. The Canadians had simply done more for the game and was able to flay's technically especially tidy impression. For 2010 we want to restore the "normal" again, and set with PES once again the benchmark in terms of football.

    We have for you, with Shingo Takatsuka, the mastermind behind Pro Evolution Soccer to entertain. 'Seabass' about new beginnings, zone defense and realism.

    Eurogamer: You're this year in a new situation. Last year was all the world that Fifa had overtaken PES. What effect did this have on the development of PES 2010?

    Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka: We saw this a bit differently. In our opinion, FIFA was better last year than we did. They have not caught up. They were much better. Of course, our site is important, as FIFA is good or not, but that's not the point. Much more shocking for us was, however, as the PES-user thought. We have seen that they were not happy with PES 2009 and that was much more shocking for us and produced great pressure. Because of these reactions, we owe them a much better game in 2010.

    That was the feeling with which we approach the development of PES 2010.

    Eurogamer: How did the depressed in development?

    Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka: With PES 2009 ended an era. PES 2010 is also for us an entirely new PES, a game that forms the basis of a new generation. We say this because we have changed the way in which we create PES. Until 2009, we have created the game action for action and assembled into a game. That was ok until 2009. But the gameplay became too arcade, action-on.

    For PES 2010, we said to ourselves: we must change our approach. We have therefore set in from the front a number of goals: Where are we going, what players we wanted to target and how they should look the matches, and have been working on it. So we have changed the creative process.

    Secondly, in PES 2010 we wanted to improve the attack of the players yet, but would not play games, which fall into too many goals. So we have developed a new style of zone defense, which ensures that your results are more realistic.

    This type of development we have used the first time in 15 years and therefore we can say that we have with PES 2010 gameplay finally reached the next level. We also have the slider strategies and the card system to the players introduced. These features are also an example of the new approach.

    Eurogamer: The 360-degree control has indeed FIFA announced as the first. Now she makes it. How long have you studied this technique already, and what do you think she is doing for Pro Evolution Soccer?

    Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka: We actually have long experiment with the 360-degree control. We always thought a lot about when most would be the best timing for it. Only last year we thought it would have been the right time, then this year. We have always thought about the timing - and because FIFA is now also makes, of course, we thought we finally integrate them into our product. But it is not just a fight "Fifa makes it, so we have to." We have always experimented around with it and wanted to make the already quite a while.

    In terms of ball control: That you should just try yourself time to figure out how to change the game. I can tell you however that may be observed especially on the side lines is a big change. Where the time the ball went out of bounds, they can be kept in PES 2010, with only a small move, perhaps still in the game. On the other hand, if you are not careful, you can carry the ball with the 360-degree control even easier out of play. You will feel this difference, then, very clearly. Especially on the lines.

    Eurogamer: You look yourself a lot of football for research purposes? Therefore, you bring your new ideas?

    Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka: Actually I get the main input of it if I PES players may see it while playing. This gives me a different perspective than when I watch real football. I can think of many more things that I could integrate into the game. There is always something to improve. In fact, I even had ideas for the next few years.

    Eurogamer: With dribbling superstars could overcome in 2009, the defense is still too easy. How can you stop in 2010, this powerful player?

    Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka: players like Ronaldo and Messi, so these dribbler themselves in genuine Football exceptional abilities, so they have in our game. For 2010, we did not want to weaken. Messi is a brilliant player and it would not be fair to reduce its value. Instead, we have renewed the zone defense system. It is our opinion the right way.

    In real football Messi is to stop in one-on-one very difficult. But there are examples where such superstars are effectively taken out of play "because the team works together and the players to help out each other in the zone defense.

    Eurogamer: Even the goalkeepers were a problem in the last game, right?

    Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka: Yes, we have first improved somewhat, so that they can be not so easy this time loaded with tricks. Furthermore, we have the team we have always asked myself why it is so easy to overcome the keeper. Well, in real football, in a one-on-one situation, a completely free attacker a good chance to sink the ball.

    Again, we have a little thought differently. We wanted to cooperate, the defenders anymore. So we have the defense system adapted so that a pure one-occur less frequently on-one situations. The defenders will defend the goal always coincided with the keeper to prevent the attack is not so easily have.

    Eurogamer: What has changed in the champions league?

    Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka: The Master League has visually changed. But this is not the most important. The most important changes stuck in the end. I believe this gives the game a larger management component. But there are so many other new things.

    Eurogamer: The online was a problem in the previous game. What will be different this time?

    Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka: Online in the past was a problem for us. We have therefore revised the system. To be precise, the PES 2008-360-based version of our favor because we felt that it worked best at the end.

    There is also an online community and an online Champions League, are really great. Namely, if one line comes into the knockout stage of the tournament, it's just like in the real Champions League. This is very exciting.

    Eurogamer: The game seems to be a little slower overall. Was the basis of realism concerns?

    Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka: Yes, that is also connected with that of PES 2010 we changed our approach to development. We have set ourselves some goals at the beginning of development, have analyzed many aspects of real football, and implements this knowledge in the game. The balance of the players speed is a quantity that we have analyzed in great detail.
    The thing is this: We need zusammendampfen a game like football that is played over 90 minutes to 10 minutes. So there must be differences in the sequence. Therefore, the flow of the game may seem a little slower to give pure realistic impression of the game.

    Eurogamer: Is there a small new gameplay feature is that many people do not notice at first playing, but it is still very important?

    Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka: This is probably mainly the new zone defense: So far, most attack situations, basically a one-on-one. That has changed now, thanks to the new zone defense. If you want to stop powerful dribbler like Messi you have to slow down their attack just to attack, they may not. In this way we get more support from other midfielders or defenders. This is something that has not previously happened.
    I recommend all players as well, Straddle once more. This year, the straddle is in fact quite different. Tried it!”

    From Ali Al Habsi to Gianluigi Buffon, goalkeepers are those we have no choice but to place our trust in as the last line of defence during our team’s relegation or promotion battles, cup runs and all important derby wins. Unfortunately, no matter the keeper, they’re all prone to the occasional hair-tearingly frustrating moments of buffoonery that can end up costing the match. As a video game, PES too can be a sufferer of this problem.

    Konami, however, introduced the manual keeper in an attempt to combat this some time ago. But why is it a useful tool to have? We asked PESFan referee Keenandinho, one of the strongest advocates of the manual keeper you'll ever find, why it’s such an important feature to have.


    “Many of you will be reading this thinking, "What is Manual Keeper and why should I care?" and, frankly, you would be quite within your rights to do so, as it was something that Konami never really shouted from the rooftops about.

    It was a feature in all previous PES games (but mysteriously removed from PES2009) and could be activated at any point in the match. As the name suggests, it allowed you to take control of your keeper and position him manually when you thought you could do a better job. It's something that's been well used within the higher skilled ranks for a few years now due to the huge defensive advantage it can give.

    I have been for lack of a better word, campaigning, to have this reinstated all year (as shown here) and I can't tell you how delighted I am to hear of its inclusion in the final version of 2010.

    Two examples of why this was so badly missed on PES2009

    • The 'near post bug shot'

    If players got to certain angles they could put the ball in the near post, and the keeper would just dive and let the shot go in without even attempting to save it.

    • 1v1 – the 90 degree shot fake.

    When 1v1 vs. the keeper and up close, you could 90 degree shot fake and the keeper would just dive every time, leaving you with an empty net.

    Using the Manual Keeper, your keeper won't dive at the first sign of a shot fake and you can cover the near post angles like a normal keeper would, saving you countless goals all because of your own skill and ability to read the play - not because the AI would decide to 'just let it in' or save it due to being on superman pills.

    Manual Keeper is something that goes back to the very roots of PES: It has to be mastered. You can’t learn it in one day; hell, you’ll be lucky to be good at it within a month. It is something of a culture shock the first few times you use it, and anyone new to it will understand exactly what I mean when the game comes out. In all likelihood you'll completely screw it up for the first weeks, but you will eventually learn to take control of the keeper; how to position him, how to out-think the striker, when to rush, how to narrow the angle, and so on. Once you've mastered these you can really show off by using it to cut out 'back post crosses' and 2 v 1 cutbacks to leave your opponent completely flabbergasted (my personal favourite).

    Having this skill forces your opponent to think a hell of a lot more. They can't just go for sweet spots if you know how to position your keeper early enough. They not only have to think about how to get past your defence, but after they get past your defence they can’t just jog past your keeper, shot fake him, go near post or just shoot across the goal without thinking about where the keeper is positioned. Even human players become robotic over time and end up doing the same old things to score - Manual Keeper is 100% guaranteed to save you from more of these goals.”

    من خودم متوجه نشدم این ورزشگاه الدترافورده کاربران انگلیسی سایت WENB این مساله رو گفتن و چقدر هم از این مساله خوشحال هستن .البته رو بردهای تبلیغاتی کنار زمین آرم باشگاه منچستر وجود داره .
    کیفیت چمن خیلی عالیه حتی خوردگی زمین و چمن هم درنظر گرفته شده !

    Dougie and I attended a private playtest of PES 2010 yesterday in London. Due to other commitments, I could only stay for an hour so I’ll publish my review of the game (as it stands) and you can wait for Dougie’s (possibly fuller) review to be published in his ‘Pes Off’ column on Thursday. It is important to point out that the code/game which we played was the 70% complete ‘press build.’ This means that a lot of details are still to be added, so don’t take this article as gospel – especially with regard to small features which I may discuss as not being in the 70% complete game we played. ‘Firsty First of the Firsters’ and a few other regulars had left a few clear questions for us which I took with me to the playtest, so the majority of these I will attempt to answer, even though I had limited time.
    I started on the Playstation 3 version of Pes 2010. What was clear from the offset was that visually, the game was stunning. The sheer graphical content and attention to detail was incredible, and this was also evident on the Xbox 360 version as the most visually compelling edition yet. Mark Lawrenson was commentating, and although I didn’t take much notice of the commentary it seemed concise and to the point.
    The menus are a lot clearer and much easier to navigate through; certainly less flashy than Pes 2009’s, and nicely stylised. The Champions League mode was not yet complete so I had a quick look at the training section. The regular ‘Free Training’, ‘Corners’ and ‘Free kicks’ sections were there as you’d expect on the training menu, and it will be interesting to see whether Konami implement customisable set pieces in Pes 2011 as they were clearly not in Pes 2010.

    I then went on to play a quick exhibition match: Italy vs. Argentina. I can honestly say that the 360° movement has led to quite a big overhaul for Pes, and – wow – what a fantastic direction the series has taken! It is slightly hard to get used to the 360° movement, but this is a good thing. Dougie commented on the fact that this will lead to people having to almost re-learn the game, and that for the last couple of years Pro Evo has got to the point where people can play a new edition to quite a high standard from the offset. This version seemed as if one will need a bit of practice to become fully competent. I must point out at this point that the D-pad on the PS3 has 16-directional movement, whereas due to hardware limitations the Xbox 360’s D-pad still only has 8 directions.
    So, the gameplay truly is great. No longer can you turn in four crazy directions within the space of a second, and one of the things I noticed was that the lofted through balls are magnificent (if executed well). Crosses into the box are now far more up to the player to direct in for the perfect ball. Once players master the art of crossing, I think there will be a plethora of fantastic headed goals coming their way! Lob shots are also much improved, and there was one point where I did a very well placed lob from outside the box, but Dougie’s goalkeeper dived backwards and pushed the ball just over the bar. The goalkeepers we didn’t really notice much difference with – we didn’t notice any silly mistakes and we saw a couple of brilliant saves, but as it was only a 70% version of the game, there’s still work to be done on the shot-stoppers! There were no handballs during the time I had with the game. We couldn’t play online as the servers aren’t up yet – although this is normal for a game which is still a good two months away from release, so don’t panic!

    Time for a couple of small points which (as I mentioned) may or may not be in the final game. There are still invisible barriers for throw-ins, and the Goalkeeper still passes to the nearest defender from goal kicks no matter which direction you aim in; Paul however (who kindly set up the play test for us) said that there was a way to pass to a chosen defender from goal kicks – which brings me on to the ‘manual keeper control’. By pressing R3 (clicking in the right analogue stick), you can automatically take control of your goalkeeper for as long as you wish, at any point of the match during play, and sometimes even when the ball is out of play! Dougie selected his goalkeeper when I was about to take a goal kick, before the ball was kicked. Even if you have control of the ball in the opponent’s half, you can press the right analogue stick in and the computer will play for you, whilst your goalkeeper comes rushing up the field (well, if that’s what you chose to do!) We didn’t explore this so much whilst I was testing, but Dougie may well have had a look at the controls and so may have seen what you can do with the goalkeepers in manual control.
    Penalties (during a game) are now viewed from a side-angle (well, just from the regular camera) which I found a quite strange. From a few tries I couldn’t understand how one would direct a penalty from a side-view, and I’m still none the wiser! Dougie said that when he played a penalty shoot-out, that the penalties were viewed being taken from the regular angle, so we’ll have to wait and see how that pans out.
    We also tried out a few fouls to see how lenient or strict the referee was. There were a couple of late tackles, and unlike Pes 2009, the referee would call a few of them back as fouls. Two terrible tackles from behind (in random areas of the pitch) resulted in two straight red cards, and this leads me onto the crowd noise. The crowds didn’t seem to shout or scream any louder for fouls on home players, but they DID cheer noticeably louder when the home team scored, as opposed to when the away team did. The crowds no longer chant anymore, which sounds a lot better.
    With regards to edit mode, I’m afraid I didn’t have time to go into it. Dougie however, may have done, so watch this space!
    Some quick final thoughts for you guys. Having been in the same boat as you for the last year with regard to the development of Pro Evolution Soccer 2010, I have to admit to having held myself back from getting overly excited about another edition of Pes which could lead to unfilled promises. I read with trepidation a few reviews of this press build that have been going around recently, and although they were all positive (some incredibly so) I tried to keep from being a little optimistic.
    But I can honestly now say Pes is back on track. You guys are going to love it. I don’t get paid to write ITR - this is an honest review, and I can certainly say that this is the best Pes I’ve ever played.



    Dougie و من دیروز در یک پلی تست اختصاصی از بازی PES 2010 که در لندن برگزار شد شرکت داشتیم . بعلت یکسری از مسائل مقرراتی من فقط تونستم یک ساعت اونجا بمونم . بنابراین اینجا من نظر و برداشت خودمو از بازی ارائه میدم و شما میتونید منتظر برداشت Dougie( احتمالا کامل تر ) در روز چهار شنبه باشید . مهمه که خاطر نشان کنم کدی که ما بازی کردیم کد 70 درصدی بازی بود . این بدین معناست که هنوز مقدار زیادی از جزئیات به بازی اضافه نشده .بنابراین این متن رو وحی منزل که غیر قابل تغییره در نظر نگیرید خصوصا با در نظر گرفتن این مساله که بعضی از مسائلی که من توی این متن در موردش صحبت نمیکنم به کد 70 درصدی هنوز اضافه نشده . من یک سری از سوالاتی رو که جوابش برامون مشخص نبود رو در نظر داشتم که توی پلی تست جواب هاشونو پیدا کنم بنابراین من بیشتر این ابهامات و سوالات رو جواب خواهم داد با وجود اینکه من اونجا محدودیت زمانی داشتم .من با نسخه Playstation 3 کار رو آغاز کردم .چیزی که مشخص بود , اینه که جلوه های بصری (مسائل مربوط به گرافیک و ...) بسیار عالی و شگفت انگیز بودن .جزئیات ظریف گرافیکی باور کردنی نبود و این مساله در نسخه Xbox 360 هم مشخص بود . Mark Lawrenson گزارشگر بازیه و اگر چه من زیاد به مقوله گزارشگری توجه نکردم اما بنظر میرسید مختصر و مربوط ( مرتبط با اتفاقات بازی )گزارشگری میکرد .

    منوها شفاف تر شدن و گشت زدن توی منوها خیلی راحت تر شده . مشخصا زرق و برق کمتری نسبت به نسخه 2009 دارن و اینکه با ظرافت طراحی شده اند .مود لیگ قهرمانان هنوز تکمیل نشده بود .بنابراین من سریع رفتم سراغ قسمت قسمت تمرینات .این بخش شامل این قسمتها میشه : Free Training, Corners و Free kicks . ضربات شروع مجدد که قابل تنظیم باشند(قابل تنظیم بشکل دلخواه و مورد نظر )توی این نسخه وجود نداشت که وجود اونها در نسخه 2011 جذاب و دیدنی خواهد بود .





    بعد از این قسمت من رفتم سراغ بخش quick exhibition : ایتالیا در برابر آرژانتین . من میتونم حقیقتا بگم که حرکت 360 درجه یک تغییر و تحول اساسی در بازی ایجاد کرده .عجب کنترل جهت خارق العاده ای ! مشخصا عادت کردن بهش سخته اما این نوآوری خوبیه . Dougie گفت در حقیقت این نوآوری موجب میشه که گیمرها بازیو از دوباره آموزش ببینن . بعد از دو سال اخیر Pro Evo قابلیتی رو تحصیل کرده که بواسطه اون مردم میتونن ویرایش جدیدی از بازی رو که منطبق بر استاندارد بالایی قرار داره تجربه کنن . به نظر میرسه برای کسب مهارت باید مقداری تمرین داشت .من باید این نکته رو خاطر نشان کنم که در نسخه PS3 از طریق D-pad دسته بازی میشه در 16 جهت حرکت کرد .از اونجایی که دسته Xbox 360 در این زمینه محدودیت سخت افزاری داره نمیشه با اون در 16 جهت حرکت کرد .


    درمجموع گیم پلی بازی توی این نسخه چیز فوق العاده ایه . الان شما میتونید در بین 8 جهت هم حرکت داشته باشید . یکی از چیزهایی که من متوجه اون شدم این بود که پاسها خیلی عالی طراحی و تنظیم شدن . ضربات شوت فنی لب ( چیپ ) هم بهبود پیدا کردن , یک چیزجالب اینکه من از خارج محوطه جریمه یک چیپ زیبا بسمت دروازه داشتم که دروازه بان Dougie به عقب شیرجه زد و توپو از بالای تیر افقی دروازه روانه اوت کرد .ما تغییرات عمده ای در دروازه بان ها ندیدیم همینطور هیچ اشتباه احمقانه هم از اونا مشاهده نشد و در چند مورد شاهد مهارهای زیبایی از اونا بودیم .اینو باید در نظر بگیریم که این نسخه 70 درصدیه بازیه و هنوز کارهایی لازمه که روی دروازه بانها انجام بشه . هیچ خطای هندی در طول بازی ما اتفاق نیفتاد .ما آنلاین هم نتونستیم بازی کنیم بخاطر اینکه هنوز سرورها آماده نبودن هرچند این در یک بازی در حال ساخت که دو ماهش هنوز مونده چیز معمولیه بنابراین جای نگرانی نیست !





    ممکنه این دو ماه باقی مونده زمان کافی برای برطرف کردن مشکلات کوچیک بازی باشه امکان داره که اینطور هم نباشه .هنوز دیواره های نامرئی در زمان پرتاب اوت وجودداشت و دروازه بانها هنوز به نزدیک ترین مدافع پاس میدن . بهر حال Paul ( کسی که با خوش برخوردی بازی رو برای پلی تست ما آماده کرد ) گفت راهی برای پاس دادن به مدافعی که مدنظر گیمره وجود داره که اینکار از طریق وضعیت کنترل دروازه بان دستی امکان پذیر میشه . با فشار دادن دکمه R3 ( آنالوگ سمت راست ) بطور اتوماتیک در هر لحظه ای از بازی ( حتی زمانیکه توپ به اوت رفته ) کنترل دروازه بان در اختیار شما قرار میگیره . من زیاد روی کنترل دستی دروازه بان وقت نذاشتم اما Dougie با توجه به وقتیکه روی این کنترل صرف کرد احتمالا قابلیتهای این کنترل رو بخوبی تجربه کرده .

    پنالتیها ( درحین بازی ) از زاویه کناری هم قابل مشاهده هستن که به نظر من خیلی عجیب بود .من نمیتونم بفهمم کسی که میخواد پنالتی بزنه در زمان پنالتی زدن چطوریه میتونه از این زاویه جهت شوتشو تنظیم کنه . Dougie وقتی پنالتی زد شوتش به اوت رفت ما باید صبر کنیم و منتظر بمونیم تا ببینیم از چه طریقی اونا سیستم پنالتی روبهینه از کار درمیارن .

    ما همچنین عمدا چند تا خطا هم کردیم تا ببینیم نحوه برخورد داور چطوره . چند تا تکل روی بازیکن حریف داشتیم که انیمیشن تعدادی از اونا شبیه تکلهای نسخه 2009 نبود .داور تعدادی از این تکلها رو خطا گرفت . دو تا تکل وحشتناک از پشت هم داشتیم ( در نقاط مختلف زمین ) که در هر دومورد داور کارت قرمز مستقیم داد که این مساله منجر به اعتراض تماشاگران بازی شد . بنظر نمیرسید تماشاگران درمورد خطاهایی که بازیکن تیمشون انجام میده هیچ سروصدا و اعتراضی بکنن. ودر زمانیکه تیمشون گل میزد حسابی خوشحالی میکردن و تیمشون رو تشویق میکردن . تماشاگران الان بیشتر توی ورزشگاه چنتهای دسته جمعی میخونن که به نظر میرسه این قسمت نسبت به نسخه قبلی پیشرفت داشته .
    درمورد مود ادیت شرمندم راستش به دلیل کمبود وقت نتونستم وارد این قسمت بشم . ممکنه Dougie واردش شده باشه .

    نظر کلی من : باتوجه به وضعیتی که این بازی پارسال داشت و با در نظر گرفتن پیشرفتهایی که در این نسخه صورت گرفته باید اقرار کنم که جلوی خودمو گرفتم که دچار هیجان تعصبی نشم . من با ترس و احتیاط ریویووهایی که اخیرا از بازی منتشر شده رو میخوندم و اگرچه اونا همگیشون نسبت به این بازی خوش بین بودند ( بعضیا خیلی زیاد) من سعی کردم زیادخوش بین نباشم .اما من الان میتونم صادقانه بگم pes به مسیر اصلی خودش برگشته .دوستان شما عاشقش خواهید شد .این متنی که خوندید یک مقاله رادیویی نیست این دیدگاه صادقانه من بود . و من میتونم بصورت قاطع بگم این بهترین بازی از سری بازیهای pes بود که تا الان بازی کرده بودم .
