Just for the sake of discussing, what are your fav movie genre? Mine is adventure-fantasy
Today I watched The brothers Grimm, a film of this genre and that was swell. One of the best movies I have ever seen

I'd like to see it again and again, I would like to live in that era, at that village at that forest

hard to pick one, but if forced , probably Crime (specially urban crime movies) , Literature-based Drama

also sub genres like western cowboy and low-budget SciFi

I loooooooooove 30s 40s screwball comedies! Also I love movies that deal with day to day life of ordinary people. Don't know what to call it. drama maybe? but Capra is my favorite director and he's famous for romanticizing the middle class and basically that's what I love in a movie. Extraordinary or interesting things happening to ordinary people. I like to see characters that I can relate to in a movie, I don't like watching movies about artsy people who always drink coffee or have read possibly every book written by the human kind! nor do I like movies about people who live in the bum side. Just keep it in the middle and I'll be pretty happy!

Gee! I am an old comedy obsessor! I googled up 40s screwball comedies and came up with It happened one night! I guess it must be a good movie. I hope I can download it, here is the link

I adore that movie it's just soooooo good! and Clark Gable is good to look at also try "Philadelphia story" and "Holiday" (1938 movie with Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant). They're one of my favorite on-screen couples.

Just for the sake of discussing, what are your fav movie genre?

For me, It depends on the story and the actors/actresses and some other details about the movie that make a film important for me. for example I hate science fiction movies but as you see in one of my last posts in this topic I rated the District 9 a high number and it means that District is one my favorite films. by the way my favorite movie genres are:
1st: Drama
2nd: comedy
3 rd: Action
4th: Romance
5th: fantasy
actually the best movies I've ever seen are Drama and the worst movies that I've ever seen are also Drama

actually Capra is like a Genre for himself ... they call it capraesque ... I adore his movies (at least 4-5 that I've seen from him) but unfortunately I'm a bit more pessimistic myself and not a fan of his view of the world and how it works

i just love inspirational movies, movies that inspire you, motivate you, and get your blood going, including it's a wonderful life, Forrest Gump and field of dreams.
the biggest challenge with the movie industry today is that many inspirational, spiritual-oriented movies never make it to your local theater or video store, and they are difficult to find.

Maybe one reason for it is the fact the mostly sophisticated people of west don't buy the stories of spiritual-oriented movies, that's just my opinion
