Intonation and accent are different! I don't know whether you meant intonation itself or accent.d
Any way, I'll explain the manner of improvement for both of them.s
First of all accent is related to listening and your sources for listening. If you wanna speak as a British does, you have to listen to British accent sources as if BBC or SKY News and a lot of audio tracks available on the internet. But if you wanna speak like an American, sources are VOA Special English, VOA News itself, and internet podcast radios available on the internet. Unfortunately sources for Australian accent are very limited, the only one that I know is ABC News podcast, which each audio file is about 12 MB (About 60 minutes everyday), which is very hard to download for dial-up connection users.s

About intonation, that the definition is the way your voice rises and falls when you are speaking, for instance when you ask a question, your voice has to rise till the end of the sentence. Sources for intonation are American or British movies. News programs are not suitable for improving intonation, because news programs are very formal and the intonation rules are not observed there.s
