STORYLINE

The story is based on the Three Kingdoms era and begins where Guan Yu receives the news of Liu Bei. He leaves Cao Cao escorting the wives of Liu Bei. Cao Cao’s subordinates felt that Guan Yu behaved far too rudely and arrogantly by leaving without bidding farewell and wanted to pursue and bring him back. However, Cao Cao gives Guan Yu a clear passage to travel as he is well aware that none of his generals can defeat him.

Guan Yu begins his journey to reunite with his sworn brother, Liu Bei. Along the 5 passes, he encounters 6 generals. The generals of Cao Cao refuse to clear the way for Guan Yu. Infuriated, Guan Yu kills all of them. However, he soon realizes that Liu Bei was no longer in Yuan’s territory and had left for Runan. Guan Yu and his party then make their long journey back and finally reunite with Liu Bei and Zhang Fei.

Description:

A long long time ago, an ancient chapel became haunted with ghosts, zombies, and vampires. No one knew where these demons came from nor why they were here. As nobody would go near the haunted chapel anymore, a monk was sent from the Vatican to investigate. Armed with only his faith and his weapon, the monk bravely ventured into chapel to exorcise the demons and restore peace back to the chapel. No one knew if they would ever hear from the Monk again.

Ghosts'n Zombies is an action shooting game. You play the monk from the Vatican that was sent to eliminate the demons and restore peace to an ancient chapel. You must destroy the enemies and gather the crystals they drop. The crystals represent faith and are used both for bullets and life. There are two different game modes in the game. Each game mode features many stages with unique levels and enemies to fight.

AngelRush is a top-down two-dimensional shooter, like Treasure's Ikaruga.

There are two colors of enemies and you can switch your polarity at any time to match them. Red bullets can't hurt you while you're red and likewise for blue. Instead, the player's ship absorbs the attacks which can later be unleashed in a special laser attack. In this way it becomes possible to survive even as the majority of the screen is covered in an unending stream of bullets.

Much of the challenge of AngelRush comes from careful polarity-switching. This is especially true when fighting bosses, as they often fire bullets of both colors in overlapping patterns. The game also presents navigational challenges where the player must maneuver through continual streams of weapons fire, using their shields to absorb one color while avoiding the others.

If you’ve grown up in part of the world where snow is some kind of nebulous and foreign concept, the idea of a snowmobile racing game may seem a bit far-fetched. Snowmobile? What’s a snowmobile? Having grown up in Canada though, the concept behind X Game SnoCross by 2XL Games is interesting and engaging. Even if you haven’t touched snow at all in your life, I’m confident you’ll feel the same way.



X Games SnoCross is based on the popular Winter X Games franchise televised and owned by ESPN. The game offers a rich, immersive environment. The 3D graphics are true and lifelike. You’ll really believe you’re out there on the course, cutting through the snow on your machine at full tilt. The soundtrack and in-game sound effects will take you there as well. The immersion is complete in this game and you’ll appreciate how it enhances the game. It is similar in many game elements to other iPhone off road and racing games so even if you haven’t seen a snowmobile in your life you can just think of it as a racing game on a unique racing platform. Indeed, you shouldn’t exclude yourself X Games SnoCross just because you aren’t familiar with winter sports.



Game controls are a nice combination of tilt control and virtual buttons. I’ve mentioned in previous reviews that I haven’t been a big fan tilt control games in the past. I’ve increasingly found myself won over by tilt control games though. In X Games SnoCross your snowmobile steering is controlled by the tilting action. I think the refinement in this game that made the steering action tolerable was the ability to adjust the sensitivity. I know this seems like a small thing but a lot games make you conform to their control scheme instead of letting you adjust it. I like to customize my controls so I appreciate little extras like that. Rounding out the controls is a virtual acceleration button on the lower left hand corner of the screen and three trick buttons on either side of screen. This is the X Games so tricks are a must. Use trick buttons by themselves or in combination while airborne to pull off some nice maneuvers.



X Games SnoCross offers a great selection of game play options. For the solo rider, there are Arcade and Career modes. As the name suggests, Arcade mode is for a standalone, single game. Each game played in Arcade mode is further subdivided into a Time Trial, Practice, or Race and at either an Amateur, Semi Pro, or Pro difficulty setting. Career mode is also rather self-explanatory. You start at the first race as a rookie and work your way through the ranks, unlocking races along the way. Go for glory and ultimate victory as you seek to become the next SnoCross champion! In addition to these great single play modes, SnoCross also offers either WiFi or Bluetooth multiplayer. When you find the CPU getting predictable and beatable, invite your friends along for the ride.



X Games SnoCross is a solid game. It even offers a local achievement system in addition to access to the 2XL Live global high score and achievement system. Test your high scores and achievements against other players for another avenue of competition.

If you like racing games then X Games SnoCross should definitely be in your repertoire. Its fast, edge of your seat fun that will keep you coming back for more.

Have you missed the Peggle revolution up to now? If so, here's the rundown: it's like pachinko, but better. You control a cannon loaded up with 10 silver balls. Below it is a field of pegs and bricks. To complete the stage, you must hit every orange peg or brick. The orange pegs, however, are surrounded by a sea of blue pegs that are worth points but send your ball careening off into another direction. If you have a good eye for physics and geometry, you can pretty much plan the trajectory of the ball as it rockets and ricochets around the screen. Although, from time to time, chance does rear up and take control.

There's more. A bucket slides across the bottom of the screen. If you drop the ball in the bucket, you get to reuse it. There are special purple pegs worth extra points, but the real prizes are the green pegs. These activate the special powers of the Peggle heroes, such as fireballs, being able to see the long trajectory of the ball on-screen in advance of your shot, and multi-ball.



Up to this point, Peggle is awesome. However, when you close in on the final orange peg, Peggle goes thermal. The action slows down. The camera gets real close to the peg. When you hit it, the game bursts into a rapturous rendition of "Ode to Joy." Now, the ball flies off and any pegs it hits are worth mucho extra points. The bottom of the screen is replaced by a series of pits, each worth different amount of points. This moment of the game, with rainbows, fireworks, and classical music blaring is still one of my favorite experiences in gaming. It's one of those rare things I wish I could experience for the first time again. But even though I have played hundreds of games of Peggle, it still never ceases to entertain.



There are two ways to control Peggle on the iPhone. There is a wheel on the right side of the screen that guarantees precise shots. Directly above it is the fire button. You can also use your finger on the field of pegs to direct the cannon, but I certainly recommend using the wheel. I am grateful PopCap did not try to use tilt or shake in any way. You can also zoom in on spots by double-tapping the screen. This lets you make surgical strikes on the field. By far, this is one of my favorite features on this iPhone port because if used just right, you can really nail those bonus-filled long shots.



Peggle on the iPhone features additional challenge stages you can play once you have finished the 55 stages in main story mode. There are 40 challenge stages that are extremely, well, challenging to complete -- but you will definitely want to do so. PopCap also included a two-player duel mode that lets you wither play versus the computer or another friend. This is not online multiplayer. This is on the same device. However, it's still a lot of fun to attack the pegs with another player.



Use the wheel for surgically precise controls.

PopCap added a new trophy room with iPhone-exclusive achievements. That's very cool. But it does not make up for what I think is a curious and unfortunate missing feature: leaderboards. This is the kind of game that makes you want to brag and what better way to do so than some sort of global leaderboard. I hope something like this shows up in an update.

There are two game modes in Trenches--Campiagn and Skirmish. In order to beat a level, your troops must reach the enemy's spawning point.

I found one feature somewhat irksome during my time with this game. In order to move left and right along the battlefield, you must drag your finger back and forth. This is typical amongst side-scrolling shooting/defense games, but it was difficult keeping track of my units during battle. I had to do a little digging before finding 'Move Map On Tilt' in the Options menu. I think this functionality should serve as default (as it does in Coast Defense - Reloaded, a similar game), mainly because it's more impressive when a game creator utilizes the iPhone's accelerometer in a productive way.



You have to wait until the spawn timer is full before you can deploy more troops, so managing your enthusiastic warriors is key to beating each level. Riflemen receive promotions by meeting kill goals, which increase their fighting ability. Another way to boost your soliders' performance is to place a commander close to them.



The award for most effective type of attack goes to Artillery. Simply drag the artillery option to the target, sit back, and watch the body parts fly.

Overall Trenches is an amusing game. You can post your high scores on the online leaderboards and keep track of in-game achievements via OpenFeint, a feature that many games are endorsing.

Domino pop is the game that you need to place bombs on the block to pop those blocks subsequently like Domino.

In Domino pop, once you click time-bomb, it pops immediately.
The pop range of this bomb is 8-surrounded blocks.
All bombs must be placed in the pop range.

You need to place time-bomb first and all other bombs in order like Domino.
