whats the difference between sentence and clause?

Clause به یکی از قسمت های جمله مرکب گفته میشه که فعل داشته باشه (مگر noun clause). درسته Clause گاهی اوقات به تنهایی یه جمله کامله ولی در جمله مرکب به یه بخش از جمله می گن Clause.
اما جمله همیشه ساختار کاملی است که میتونه چند Clause داشته باشه(مرکب). مثال:

If you leave me, I'll die

در عبارت فوق If you leave me یک Clause است.
در عبارت فوق I'll die یک Clause است.
کل عبارت یعنی If you leave me, I'll die یک جمله است.

اگه منظورت برنامه‌نویسیه string reading...

اگه منظورتون خواندن رشته‌ی دانشگاهیه Studying ---- major یا field...

دوستان خوبم
چند روز پیش یه کتاب گرامر دیدم که به زبون خیلی ساده و به طور کامل گرامر رو درس داده understanding and using grammar by Betty S Azar واقعا کتاب خوبی هست ( انتشارات لانگمن). توصیه میکنم حتما مطالعه کنید این کتاب رو

این کتابی که معرفی کردی از سری کتابهای grammar in use بهتره ؟

به نظر من که خیلی بهتر و کامل تر از grammar in use هست. به زبون خیلی خیلی ساده که به راحتی میتونید اصل مطلب رو بفهمید و کاملا مفهومی درس داده به همراه تمرینهای زیاد.

Because my friend when the word "Cold" is being used as a noun the plural form is "Colds" but as an adjective it's ridiculous to add "s" at the end of it...i think because the reference of cold ( people ) is plural it was desirable to use the "Cold" in plural form as well
