The Members of FOXHOUND

LIQUID SNAKE
FOXHOUND's newly hired point man, Liquid Snake, is a royal pain in the ass who was just smart enough to scam his way into getting the job. Unbeknownst to Liquid, he is actually the twin brother of FOXHOUND's recently retired point man, Solid Snake. Unbeknownst to them, Liquid and Solid are both clones of former FOXHOUND commanding officer Big Boss, whom Solid killed several years ago. There's probably something unbeknownst to Big Boss too, but let's not push it.

REVOLVER OCELOT
A flawless marksman, Revolver Ocelot gets his name from his weapon of choice: the Colt Single-Action Army revolver, "the finest handgun ever made." He's one of the most dangerous men alive, partially due to his finesse with a pistol, partially due to the fact that he's a Goddamn lunatic who by all rights ought to be in a
white padded room with a very, very small window. Ocelot suffers from Chronic Backstabbing Disorder, a rare syndrome which compels him to double-cross anyone and everyone in a vulnerable position.

PSYCHO MANTIS
Psycho Mantis' name refers not to his mental health - although that's certainly questionable - but to his powerful mastery of psychokinesis and telepathy. Or, alternatively, telekinesis and psychopathy. Either way, really. Also, for reasons he won't discuss, he's instinctively repulsed by females. He's not gay, just... I don't know. Weird. His gasmask prevents the moment to moment thoughts of everyone in the whole damn world from popping into his head. Think about it - would you want to hear what that creepy guy next to you on the subway is thinking? Of course not.

SNIPER WOLF
The deadly, beautiful Sniper Wolf is FOXHOUND's long-range sharpshooter. According to one oft-repeated story, she once waited for two weeks in a tree while her mark hid inside a cafe. No food, no water, no movement. When the poor sucker finally poked his head out, figuring he was in the clear, he was dead within seconds. It's not entirely clear just where Wolf comes from, but damn is her accent ----. I could listen to it all day.

VULCAN RAVEN
The solemn, mysterious, and very very big Vulcan Raven hails from the Alaskan tundra. He once presided over his tribe as shaman, summoning the knowledge and wisdom of the animal spirits. Nowadays, when he's not spouting cryptic messages from the ethereal plane, he enjoys running around with a gigantic Vulcan cannon - a sort of gun you'd usually find mounted on an assault vehicle - blowing the hell out of anything that moves. Don't make the mistake of pinning this down to male insecurity, though.

Not to his face, at least.

DECOY OCTOPUS
FOXHOUND's legendary master of disguise, Decoy Octopus, can perfectly imitate anyone down to the smallest physical or behavioral detail. In order to achieve this effect, however, he has to drink copious amounts of the subject's blood. You can imagine what that does to a guy over a few decades. Octopus is always in disguise, and when not on a mission generally assumes the appearance of one of his colleagues, though recently he's opted to impersonate a dead bad guy, since there was lots of blood available. Col. Campbell bought him a hat to wear so that people would know it was him. Sometimes he "forgets" to wear it.

COL. ROY CAMPBELL
FOXHOUND's hapless commanding officer, Colonel Roy Campbell, has been with the unit since its inception, way back when, under its first CO, Big Boss. After Solid Snake bumped his old man off, the chain of command pointed to Campbell as the new leader. Unfortunately for FOXHOUND, Campbell's circuits aren't all working - maybe a few too many shellshocks - and he was never that bright to begin with. He and Liquid ought to get along just fine...

CYBORG NINJA
Also known as Grey Fox - the only FOXHOUND member ever to receive the codename "Fox" - or Frank Jaeger. He was killed in Zanzibar by Solid Snake but was revived by FOXHOUND for use in their gene therapy experiments. He escaped and is seeking a rematch with Solid Snake, and maybe Liquid too, because hell, all them Snakes look alike. He is way more badass than any of the jokers in FOXHOUND. Over time his memories of his former self have begun to fade away, partly due to the long-term effects of the reanimation process, and partly due to the short-term effects of having his head smashed against a wall several times by Liquid. He is currently dead, again.

DR. NAOMI HUNTER
A genetics researcher in FOXHOUND R&D, Naomi helped the Cyborg Ninja escape from the lab. Fox called her "Sis," which would lead you to think that they're brother and sister, but I'm going to go ahead and tell you that they're not. She resents Big Boss and his sons because of what happened to Fox.

BIG BOSS
The man known by the FOXHOUND codename "Big Boss" was dubbed the greatest soldier ever to live. He ran countless black ops during the Cold War until he lost his eye (which apparently had already been replaced several times) in a gunfight, and went into a coma. While he was a vegetable, the government started a program to clone him, yielding Solid Snake and Liquid Snake. Solid Snake eventually killed him, but his spirit has interacted with Liquid on several occasions, and even taken over his body.

BERTHOLD
Sniper Wolf's pet wolf, Berthold, not only understands human speech but is able to "speak" to people telepathically, if he feels like it. So far only Liquid, Octopus, Eddie and Raven know Berthold's secret. He is fiercely protective of Wolf, but otherwise pretty lazy.

SOLIDUS SNAKE
The mysterious third Son of Big Boss, Solidus Snake, is known to the world as U.S. President George Sears. He was put in the White House by the influence of an all-powerful shadow organization called the Patriots that are, like, totally 1984 and shit. He recruited Ocelot to carry out his schemes behind the Patriots' back.

SCRATCH
Scratch is a cracker - a professional electronic security tester, not a honky - who used to work for the American government with his partner Eddie and Revolver Ocelot in Eastern Europe after the end of the Cold War. He and Eddie went underground after being left to take the fall when an operation went south. After their attempt to take revenge on Ocelot failed, FOXHOUND hired them, because they seem to love insubordination. Scratch is a bit flaky and is the sort of person who always wears shorts and sandals, no matter what the weather is like.

EDDIE
Eddie, Scratch's partner, is really big. Like, Raven-sized. But despite his musclehead appearance, Eddie is actually quite intelligent, and mildly telepathic to boot. While his power is nothing compared to Mantis', he is able to pick out surface thoughts and make powerful suggestions. Some people think he kind of looks like Bert from Sesame Street but on steroids.

OTACON
Hal "Otacon" Emmerich is a huge nerd. How nerdy is he? He nicknamed himself after an annual anime convention. He's not too quick on the uptake, as evidenced by his belief that the Metal Gear he's building for ArmsTech is a missile defense platform rather than a nuclear holocaust on legs. He introduced Liquid Snake to optic camoflauge when they encountered each other at his lab on Shadow Moses Island.

THE SORROW
A member of Cobra Unit, the international special ops group who won the war for the Allies. The Sorrow was a spirit medium who talked to dead soldiers to gather intel on the battlefield. Now he is himself a spirit who lingers around Tselinoyarsk, where he was assassinated by his lover and Big Boss' mentor, The Boss. Though he can make himself visible to the living, he cannot be heard, and communicates by holding ethereal signs in the air - like Wile E. Coyote, but dead. Considering he's talked to dead people his whole life, he's surprisingly well-adjusted and has no crippling character flaw.
The FOXHOUND Reserves

NANO JACKAL
A member of FOXHOUND's reserve staff (informally known as DOGPOUND), Jackal worked for ArmsTech alongside Otacon as a computer engineer. She discovered that the project they were working on, Metal Gear Rex, was intended to launch undetectable nuclear warheads and went underground to avoid being silenced. Her extensive nanotech implants allow her to perform calculations at a speed comparable to a modern personal computer and are pretty damn creepy.

DESERT VULTURE
Vulture is a survival expert with years of experience working in harsh desert conditions. He wields a World War II era sniper rifle that fires armor-piercing rounds. He claims to know Liquid from the Gulf War, does mercenary work in northern Africa when not on duty for DOGPOUND, and says stereotypically British things like "chap" and "bloody" a lot.
The Members of Dead Cell

VAMP
A knife expert with "supernatural" written all over him. He moves impossibly fast, defies gravity, drinks the blood of slain enemies, and purportedly can survive wounds that would kill a normal human. He's not really a goth (not whiny enough) but he'd fit right in at a Vampire: The Masquerade LARP.

FATMAN
Fatman is a demolitions/bomb disposal wiz. Though he's named for the atomic bomb that was dropped on Nagasaki, he is ridiculously, absurdly fat and would be practically immobile in combat if not for the roller blades he wears. He is self-centered, obnoxious and has delusions of grandeur; it's surprising FOXHOUND didn't recruit him first.

OLD BOY
Old Boy was a strategist for the Nazis during World War II. Yeah, he's that old. And he still only speaks German. He's still a cunning adversary on the battlefield, even if he's a dribbling, senile madman off of it.

THE CHINAMAN
Nothing about this guy makes sense. He's Vietnamese, in spite of his codename, and his areas of expertise are swimming and special effects. As you might expect, he's got a bit of an inferiority complex and tries way, way too hard.

COL. JACKSON
Jackson is responsible for turning the four previous nutjobs into a coordinated anti-terrorist unit, Dead Cell. It's clearly drained most of his will to live. Unlike his counterpart in FOXHOUND, however, Jackson has a good head on his shoulders and knows how to get the most out of his team
