Sony GX and SX LTE droids going to Japan, one has a 13MP camera
Sony Mobile just announced two new LTE-capable Android smartphones for Japan. The Sony Xperia GX is the more interesting part of the duo as it combines the specs of an Xperia ion with a 13MP camera. The Sony Xperia SX is no slouch either - at 95g, Sony claims it to be the lightest LTE-enabled phone.

Sony Xperia GX
The phone is modeled after the Xperia arc, but packs a 4.6" HD Reality display backed by the Mobile BRAVIA Engine, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of built-in storage and will launch in black and white, with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board. It also has an HDMI port for FullHD video out.
The Sony Xperia SX uses a smaller, 3.7" Reality display, a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 8GB of built-in storage and it will also launch in black and white with ICS out of the box. Its hook is that it weighs just 95g. The Xperia SX uses an 8MP camera, probably packing the other new sensor Sony announced at the beginning of this year.

The GX and the SX boast LTE connectivity that can go up to 72Mbps. They will also come with a Walkman app preloaded, which enables music player features like clear stereo, clear bass, VPT surround sound, manual equalizer and xLOUD.
The Sony Xperia GX and Xperia SX will be available in Japan from the summer, but Sony didn’t give a more concrete date. Also, there's nothing on whether the company plans to bring a version of these phones in other parts of the world.

Sprint LG LS970 to come with quad-core 1.5GHz Krait processor

It seems LG is working on a new flagship for Sprint – the LS970 that will probably retail as the Eclipse 4G LTE.
The rumored specs are quite impressive – a Snapdragon SoC with a quad-core 1.5GHz Krait processor and Adreno 320 graphics, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. It should pack a 4.67-inch 1280x768px LCD screen, a 13MP rear and a 1.3MP front camera alongside LTE capabilities

The Eclipse 4G LTE is supposed to be just 8.6mm thin and weigh 142 grams with its 2100mAh battery, and the SoC is supposed to outscore every ARM Cortex-A9-based quad-core chipsets (Tegra 3, Exynos) out there.
While all this sounds beyond cool, we have to hear something in the way of an official announcement before we can get too excited. LG were the first to officially announce a dual-core smartphone, so we won’t be surprised that's the case with a quad-core Krait phone as well

5.5" Galaxy Note 2 allegedly scheduled for October 2012
The new device will supposedly feature a slightly larger 5.5-inch screen (as opposed to the 5.3 on the original), which will again be of a Super AMOLED variety, and have a WSXGA+ resolution (1680 x 1050 pixels).
Also rumored is an 8MP camera with improved sensor, as well as 1.5 GB of RAM, along with a new Exynos 5250 chipset, featuring a dual-core ARM-15 processor. 4G connectivity will allegedly come standard for all international units.
All of this could change, of course, so make sure to keep an eye on our homepage, where more news on the Galaxy Note 2 will be posted the moment it surfaces.

Rumor: HTC One XXL to be like One XL, but with quad-core Krait
Android users have become power-hungry - dual-core processors no longer cut it. If you're among that crowd, this next rumor should give you a twitch of excitement - an HTC One XXL with two extra cores than the XL, better graphics and more RAM.
A couple of leaked screenshots show some of the specs of this purported beast - a 4.7" 720p screen, 8MP main and 1.8MP secondary cameras and a codename, "Closurexxl".
The chipset specs of the One XXL are more interesting though - a quad-core processor (reportedly a Snapdragon S4 with Krait cores), 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 320 GPU plus LTE connectivity.

We came across some leaked images that show the international version of the Sony LT29i, codenamed

. The images confirm a very close resemblance to the Japan-bound, LTE-capable Xperia GX, save for the lack of the FeliCa (Sony's NFC-based payment system in Japan) logo under the LED flash and the different chrome rim around the phone.

Other details further fortify the belief that we'll see the LT29i Hayabusa as an international counterpart of the Xperia GX. The Sony LT29i has passed though the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US. Information is still scarce but the LT29i will have a pentaband 3G radio with HSPA capabilities.

, but now someone at ePrice got their hands on an engineering sample and did an extensive preview of the phone, complete with 13MP camera samples. It's a bit odd, but the prototype bears the "Sony Ericsson" logo.
Anyway, the Hayabusa is 8.6mm thick - a hair thinner than the Xperia arc - and features a similar curved back. The weight is reported at 127g. Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 with a dual-core Krait processor, which will run at 1.5GHz at launch (the engineering sample is underclocked to 918MHz), 1GB of RAM and Adreno 225 GPU.

The screen is a 4.6" LCD with 720p resolution and there are no physical keys on the front. Here it's shown next to that of the HTC One X and exhibits color shifting when viewed at an angle (this is typical of Xperia phones).

The Sony Xperia LT29i Hayabusa runs a customized version of Android 4.0.4. Check out the video below, which shows the task switcher that also launches floating widgets (similar to the mini apps in Samsung's tablets). The task switcher is at 1:30, but the rest is pretty interesting too.
The star of the show is at the back - a 13MP camera with LED flash that can record FullHD video. The camera samples look really good, though there's no decent video sample (only one shot in the dark and heavily compressed by the video sharing service).

Also on the back is a noise cancelling microphone and an NFC antenna. Below the back cover is a 1700mAh battery plus SIM and microSD card slots. Unlike some Xperia devices of late, the battery is removable, which is a relief.

We don't know for certain when the Sony Xperia LT29i Hayabusa will launch - the Xperia GX (that's the Japanese version of the phone) will launch on August 9 according to rumors, but the Hayabusa may come out as late as October.

The KoreanTimes: The Galaxy Note II will use a 5.5 ultra-thin flexible AMOLED screen.
The AMOLED in question uses an unbreakable Plane (UBP) and plastic substrate helping it reduce its thickness by 0.4mm. This may not sound like much, but on a 5.5″ screen, the space saved is enough for Samsung to employ a far larger battery without making the Note 2 any thicker than its predecessor.
If everything goes right Samsung will show the Galaxy Note II at IFA 2012. Under codename GT-N7100.
The Galaxy Note II will run on Android 4.0 or 4.1. Samsung’s test software for the Galaxy Note II is still Android 4.0.4.
We of SamMobile will go to IFA in the weekend of September 1 and 2.
AMOLED is the future of the display industry highlighting its flexibility and transparency. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2, expected to be released next month, uses a 5.5 inch flexible display, a step forward to extending Samsung’s lead over its rivals.
