How can we obstruct depressing in life?
As we all know life is the combination of happiness and sadness, successes and defeats. In my point of view they complete the meaning of life together. It is a natural rule and we can't change it. We should learn how to face with defeat and sadness in life. We can try to think positive about the matters. In other hand a depressed person should find the causes of his depression which are varies for each person and then he will be able to fight with it and solve his problem. As a religious person we should have trust on Allah Almighty who is always helpful for us. Depression can make you feel hopeless and helpless, the best way to feel better is to visit a psychologist and he can help you for treatment.

During the past hundred years, the railway, the motor-car, the gramophone, the radio, the cinema and now television, have produced very great changes in the amusements with which people fill their free time.
A hundred years ago, people were in the habit of making heir own amusements. Both sexes read and wrote far more than their descendants do now: very long book, in several parts, were the faction, and many people specially ladies, kept diaries, in which they wrote long descriptions of their doings and feelings. Ladies did a lot of needlework, or went for long walks, and gentleman went riding or shooting.
When a group of people were gathered together, they talked, played cards or other games, read aloud to each other, or went out riding, shooting or walking together.
Most people could sing a little, or play some musical instrument reasonably well; so at a party the guest amused each other. Above all, conversation was an art: amusing conversation could keep people happy for hours.
As for games such as football and cricket, people were in the habit of playing them themselves, on the village green or in the local park. Most of them did not play very well, but they managed to amuse themselves and their friends.
Nowadays, we are amused by professional. Why listen to your friends singing when you can hear the great singers of the world on the radio? Why read even a detective story if you can see one at the cinema? And why play football with players who are not very good when you can go, by train or car, to see some of the best players in your country playing an important match; or, if you have a television set, just sit comfortable at home and watch the game without the trouble of going outside?
The art of conversation and the habit of reading and writing are dying: people are becoming more and more lookers and listeners, and less and less doers and talkers.

This is about some amusement things in many years ago. Each gender had their own amusement to do, for example men went riding or shooting and women kept diaries and did needle works. But nowadays because of progress of communication means we more prefer to listen or look instead of being more active to have amusement.

My summery of the reading
This reading is a comparison between the type of amusements of human beings in the past and present time. The writer says that many decades ago entertainment activities were more practical and active than the ones done now a day's. People also were more social in past as they used to enjoy together in groups by playing cards, football or cricket but now they usually amuse alone at home with devices like TV and computers. We can say this way of passive lifestyle is a common thing of our life in 21st century!

MY SUMMERY:
There is a grate difference between amusements of people in the past century and now For example in the past ladies wrote their long diaries, did a lot of needlework, or went for long walks. And gentleman went for riding or shooting. In the gathering they talked and played games like football, read aloud to each other and had an amusing conversation.
But nowadays people fill their free time with listening to radio, sit on sofa and watching T.V, go to cinema and stadium by car etc.
As a whole the writer says unfortunately now due to development of the world, people are becoming more lookers and listeners, and less doers and talkers.
