Studying grammar is the greatest mistake EFL learners do. They are somehow brainwashed by the system. Not just language institutes but the books, published by very renowned publishers which only seek to propagate such entrenched view: that in order to learn a language (and basically everything in life not just a language) you need to study it in an academic way instead of simply practicing.
Practice is the key and fluency and accuracy will come afterwards
naturally, intuitively and subconsciously. Let linguists engage
themselves with the knowledge of language not you.
However, the interesting part is that this fact has been discovered and put into practice by EFL experts for years, meaning the CLT method, but it is not implemented worldwide and specially in the third world countries like ours. And do not
ask me about the reasons which are obvious...
