Meizu MX takes us on a heavily modified Android journey, we can’t shake off the iPhone feeling [VIDEO]
One of the most unusual smartphones that you have seen just landed in our office – the Meizu MX. At its core, it’s an Android phone, but it takes a lot of design cues from the iPhone. What’s unique about it is that it’s from a Chinese company – a lot of companies have their gadgets assembled in China, but this one was also designed there.
China has all the potential to become a tech powerhouse – and the Meizu MX is probably just the first of many high-end gadgets that have an actual chance of dethroning the current top phones.
Inside the Meizu MX is an Exynos 4210 chipset, with a dual-core 1.4GHz Cortex-A9 processor and 1GB of RAM – basically, the same chipset you get with the Samsung Galaxy Note. The MX also packs an 8MP camera with FullHD video recording.
The screen is 4″ big and has 640×960 pixels resolution, which add up to a very high 288ppi pixel density. It’s not much taller and wider than an iPhone 4S despite having a tangibly bigger screen. Unfortunately, it’s not as thin as the Apple smartphone, but at 10.3mm it’s not thick by any means either.
All in all, the Meizu MX seems to have what it takes to challenge the Samsung Galaxy S II and the iPhone 4S.

A really cool bit is the capacitive soft keys – they are situation aware, meaning they change their look based on what function they serve at any given moment. They can be a back key, a menu key, a lock key – you’ll see what we are talking about in the video that’s coming up. They also rotate with the phone’s orientation (kind of like the HTC Incredible S). And those aren’t even all the cool bits about these keys, but we’ll leave the rest for the cool review.
We should note that the box you see in the video is an engineering sample and the retail box will look differently (more importantly, the charger will be inside it).

Before we show you the video though, we’d like to say a few words about the software. It’s Android 2.3.5 underneath and will run Android apps (and quite easily at that, knowing how powerful the chipset is). But the interface is almost completely redesigned.
First off, there’s no application drawer – your shortcuts, folders and widgets sit on the homescreens. It’s kind of cramped, but the Meizu MX barely has any widgets preinstalled. Then there’s the notification area – it doesn’t open all the way, only as much as it needs to show its contents.
The task switcher is new too – it’s launched by a press and hold on the right key (not the home key) and features music controls and Wi-Fi/GPS/Sync/etc. toggles. The lockscreen is new too. Actually, a lot about the Meizu MX is new if you’re coming from Android or even iOS.
If you’ve used the Flyme OS (that’s what Meizu calls their modification of Android) on a Meizu M9, it’s probably a lot more familiar, but for most people the MX will be an almost completely new experience.

Intel unveils Android-running Medfield phone and slate
Intel has just revealed its latest smartphone and tablet reference platforms based on its Medfield chipset. The chip maker is dead set on grabbing a piece of the two markets under ARM's nose and obviously won't let the few unsuccessful previous attempts stop it.
Intel seems to have learned its lesson and has implemented all of Medfield's functional elements on a single chip. That's the way that all current smartphone and tablet chipsets are and it was about time Intel stopped trying to reinvent the wheel and follow suit. The so called "systems-on-a-chip" are known for their superior power efficiency, which is crucial to mobile devices.
As for the actual hardware on display, there were a couple of Android-running devices. The smartphone was powered by Gingerbread, whereas the tablet used Honeycomb. As Technology Review reported both felt really nice to use, matching the smoothness of the current Android top-dogs and iPhones.
A particularly impressive bit about the reference designs was that they were able to capture 8 megapixel images at a rate of 15 fps.
Intel's architecture VP Stephen Smith mentioned that his company expects to see the first Medfield-based market-ready devices announced in the first half of 2012, which is just around the corner.
Some CPU architecture competition should work to everyone's benefit, so we are pretty eager to see those. Knowing the current rate of mobile chipset progress, we can only imagine what will happen once a big player like Intel enters the market properly.

Several photos have popped up in Picasaweb from a yet to be announced Sony Ericsson LT28at Android smartphone, sporting a 13MP camera. Despite being compressed in the upload process, the pictures have mind-blowing detail and dynamic range. See them below.

The smartphone in question is likely an AT&T bound, LTE beast with a spec sheet to match its massive, back-illuminated camera unit. They include a dual-core CPU, clocked at 1.5GHz, and a 4.55" Reality display with HD (720x1280 pixels) resolution.
We are likely to see the device get unveiled at CES, which kicks off next month in Las Vegas. We will be covering it live, so expect an update on the topic as soon as we hear about it.

You know a company is taking an announcement seriously when they sent the invitations three months in advance. Huawei has just sent out invitations for an event that will take place on February 26 next year, which is the day before the MWC kicks-off.
Traditionally, this day has been used by market behemoths like Samsung, Nokia and Sony Ericsson to make their announcements, prior to the start of the mobile industry's largest event. However, Huawei obviously feels really confident about its upcoming smartphone and is going to try and steal some of the spotlight.
According to the invitation Huawei will be announcing their "smartest, fastest and most high-performing smartphone yet" at the event. And yeah, we know the bar isn't set too high, but the latest crop of Huawei devices isn't half bad at all (most notably the Honor and the Vision), so we might be on for something really exciting.
We'll have to wait and see, but here's hoping that it will be worth it.

In our review of the Meizu MX from last week, we found the smartphone to be one of the most capable dual-core offerings on the market today. It appears however, that the Chinese company behind this peculiar smartphone has grander plans for its offspring. It released its plans for a quad-core version of the MX, which will be unveiled in May next year.Rumor has it, that the quad-core Meizu MX will feature the Samsung made Exynos 4412 CPU - a logical speculation given the current CPU of the smartphone. Regardless of the silicon choice though, having a reasonably priced quad-core Android smartphone sounds like a neat idea to us.

یه شات از دوربین یه گوشی جدید سامی با کد نیم i9500 منتشر شده که به این کد نیم فقط میخوره که مال گالکسی اس 3 باشه اما این شات رزلشن 5 مگاپیکسلی داره و اطلاعات عکس هم نشون میده که توی یکی از مراکز سامسونگ تو کره گرفته شده.. اما یکم دور از ذهن به نظر میاد که gs3 یه دوربین 5 مگاپیکسلی داشته باشه چون همین الان رو gs2 دوربین 8 هست
و اینکه اطلاعات EXIF میشه خیلی راحت جعل کرد ولی اگه کسی میخواست یه سرکاری راه بندازه میتونست اطلاعات قابل باور تری بذاره...

احتمالا بین nyphon و nozomi باشه
از اونجایی که nyphon اولین گوشی با مارک سونی (به تنهایی) هست و احتمالا تا 6 ماه دیگه هم این دوتا شرکت از هم جدا نمیشن بعید میدونم nyphon باشه
پس احتمالا nozomi باشه و به عنوان قویترین گوشی جدید سونی اریکسون معرفی بشه
Sony Ericsson is going to start the New Year with an announcement. The company will be unveiling a new smartphone at CES, which starts next week in Las Vegas.
The company mentioned on its Twitter and Facebook accounts that it's going to make a major announcement in exactly seven days and urged users to guess what it will be all about. And, seeing that the attention of everyone in the teaser image is focused on that large-screened smartphone the girl in the blue shirt is holding, that's not quite so hard a challenge.

Logic dictates that it will be the Nozomi, as last year Sony Ericsson announced their Arc flagship at CES and it'll make sense for its successor to appear there, too. Plus the Nyphon is said to be the first smartphone to make do carry the Sony logo, instead of the Sony Ericsson one. And since the merger won't happen before the middle of the year, it's probably too early for this one.
In any case, we'll be there and covering the whole thing live for you, so you will know what gets unveiled as quickly as possible.

The Sony Ericsson Nozomi (or Arc HD if you will) is certainly not enjoying anonymity. The smartphone leaked so many times that we are afraid its manufacturer will have little news for us at the announcement event, which is scheduled for next week.

Sony Ericsson Nozomi (a.k.a Sony Ericsson Xperia arc HD)According to ITProPortal, the smartphone will, in fact, be named Sony Ericsson Xperia HD and will run on an MSM8660 chipset, which also powers the HTC EVO 3D. The RAM will be 1GB and there will be a 12 megapixel camera at the back of the new Sony Ericsson flagship.
Sadly, there won't be a microSD card slot so the internal storage is all you will get with the Sony Ericsson Nozomi. And you might be interested to know that the Android 2.3.7 Ginerbread-running smartphone will take microSIM cards, instead of the regular ones.

Sony Ericsson Nozomi (a.k.a Sony Ericsson Xperia arc HD)We are sure Sony Ericsson will be updating this one to Ice Cream Sandwich eventually, but it's too early to give a timeframe for that.
Now it's too early to be drawing any conclusions, as the official announcement hasn't even taken place, but it appears that Sony Ericsson is taking an interesting approach to its top end products.
You see, the Nozomi would be a fine competitor for the ultimate smartphone if it was released about six months ago, but given that it will only be announced now it will have a somewhat different mission.

Today we got the third teaser about the upcoming new Xperia phone. It will be announced on CES in Las Vegas in a few days.

این گوشی جدید سونی به نظر عالی میاد :-؟ 720p و سی پی یو هم 1.5 آرم... فکر میکنم یا OMAP 4460 باشه یا 4470... البته یه چیزایی شنیدم که این Soc خود سونی رو داره؟؟؟ درسته؟؟؟
سونی تا حالا از arm استفاده نکرده عجیبهنقل قول:
بعد از یه سالم که دوال کور زده از A7 استفاده کرده که از A9 ضعیفتره (تو بنچ مارک مشخصه) برندای دیگه دارن میرن طرف A15
احتمالاً Soc خود سونیه چون 4460 از A9 استفاده میکنه نه A7
حالا این کجاش عالی به نظر میاد ؟ :دی

آره arm v7 فرقی نداره واسه a8 و a9 هم تو کوادرانت همینو میزنه

کلا مشکل از کوادرانت :دی چون سونی کلا کوالکام استفاده می کنه وقتی که با کوادرنت میگیری می نوسه کوالکام
کوالکام هم در اصل همون ارم هست [ برای مشاهده لینک ، با نام کاربری خود وارد شوید یا ثبت نام کنید ] رو ببینید اگه اشتباه نکنم

ARM کلا قضیش با Cortex فرق داره و من نمیدونستم... همه ی این سی پی یو ها هسته ARM هستن ، حالا واسه اسنپدرگون هسته ی اسکورپین استفاده میشه و بقیه هم هسته کورتکس استفاده میکنن...
از اونجایی هم که جی پی یو Adreno هست و بهش توجه نکرده بودم 100% همون ام اس ام ــه...
خلاصه که هر چی از این اشتباها پیش اومده تقصیره اطلاعات ناقص منه ، سعیدو ور دارین بیاین یه دور سیر منو بزنین : ))
