I have a pen-friend in New York who I’ve been writing to for over twenty-years. He and I still write—I got a letter from him last week. He knows all about the film, of course—he hasn’t seen it yet, and I haven’t met him yet. There could be a little bit of life imitating art—he’s got the script; he knows all about it. I don’t think he’s going to be surprised at all.
He looks very different to Max, anyway. His name’s not Max, obviously—that remains a private secret.
