نقل قول:
Are you mocking me ? :( l
dragging this thread off-topic. Thank you very much. I have been seeking for this expression for years!l
Never! I'm just jesting :20:
Yeah I know what you mean, some phrases are really hard to find in a foreign language!
1- I think you have learned Persian to some extent. How?l
I took a module at my last university for about 6 months. I've know the basics but I still have a LONG way to go.. For my research though I absolutely have to learn Persian. Being able to speak Persian is a bonus but I am mainly interested in being able to read it
2- It seems that your relationship with your parents is not peaceful. IF this is the case, why?l
Really? What gives you this impression? My relationship with them is fine alhamdlillah ..
3- How many brothers and sisters do you have? What do they do? What do your family think about coming to Iran? Do they agree or not or neutral?l
Five sisters and three brothers. We ALL do different things somehow. My mother is a little worried about my trip to Iran but I am trying to convince her to let me go..She will let me go I think but a little reluctantly.
4- Have you ever seen a Persian movie?l
Yes! Rang-e Khoda. A beautiful film. I hear that there are a number of good Iranian directors in the Persian film scene?
5- Do you look more like Indians or British people? Dark or white? Black hair or blond? Blue eyes or black? Do you have beard or mustache?l
Indian all the way! Black hair and occasional facial hair..
6- Do you like any Persian music? Especially THE traditional ones? Have you heard THE names of Shajarian and Nazeri?l
I haven't heard a lot of Persian music at all and I look forward to enjoying this in Iran. I just had a look at a Nazeri performance on youtube, he looks interesting..
7- Once you said THAT you have been to many countries of the world. Why?l
I LOVE traveling and exploring different areas of out beautiful planet. I prefer to spend time in a place instead of leaving immediately but this is financially difficult sometimes! My trips have mostly been for study or tourism.
8- Do you PREFER the foggy weather of London or THE clear sky of Tehran?l
I like all the different seasons but I think the winters of Britain are far too long.. I'm looking forward to the clear skies..
9- Is there any possibility to get married with an Iranian girl? Let me give you another advice here. Since we suffer from Husband Famine in Iran, maybe some girls that see you are British and bla bla bla ... want to suspend from you !!! Be careful!!l
9- Is there any possibility of you getting married to and Iranian girl? Let me give you another piece of advice here. Since we suffer from Husband Famine in Iran, some girls might see that you are British and bla bla bla ... want to suspend from you !!! Be careful!!l
'Suspend' doesn't work here. Perhaps 'kidnap' is the word you are looking for?
Haha, as I said before, I'm coming to Iran primarily to learn Persian. However, anything could happen if it is 'written' for us! (Do you use 'maktub' in Iran/Persian?) But thanks for the warning!
There is a husband famine in Iran? Really? Why? Is the problem demographical or social?
10- How often do you cry? On what matters? Who dries your tears?l
I cry when I am REALLY down or when I am leaving people. Since I travel often, I always seem to be leaving somebody! Normally there is nobody to dry my tears except a box of tissues!
11- Have you ever fallen in love?l
Yes
12- Why are you so interested in KiteS? 1 in your ID and 1 in your avatar
I'm not really that interested in them. I picked Kite for my ID because I have 'kite' in my email ad and I picked the avatar to match the name
13- Could you please listen to this music and tell what is it saying in all? I just understand this sentence: We will win or we will die. It is about Palestine and Talle Za'tar which is the name of an occupied place
13- Could you please listen to this music and tell ME what is being said? I just understand this sentence: We will win or we will die. It is about Palestine and Talle Za'tar which is the name of an occupied place
Yes it is about the Palestinian resistance to oppression. I can't transcribe the whole thing because the recording is not very clear and I can't always make out what is being said. Here is a short section from near the start:
'Home of a people driven from their own land, refugees. People from Haifa, ---Yasin and Yaffa. People from all over Palestine. Palestine's people robbed of their life-hood (?), forced to pay for Zionist crimes..
She has a nice voice
What do you think about THE Holocaust? Is it true or just a fiction
We normally say: Is it fact or fiction?
Fact.
15- Which one is more beautiful
Lol, I don't like cockroaches very much at all
We have a poet called Sohrab Sepehri who says "I don't know why no one takes Vultures in cages (instead of e.g. nightingales!). He means every creature has its own beauty. What do you think?l
I agree completely. All people and all creatures are beautiful in their own way. But I think that the cockroach is an exception to this rule...
Thanks for your interesting questions my friend. I look forward to quizzing you one day too!
