Cancer
Coffee consumption and bladder, kidney and prostate cancers
Coffee and bladder cancer: inconclusive evidence
Although tobacco use and exposure to aromatic amines are the two main risk factors for bladder cancer, other lifestyle factors are also involved.
In 1990, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) considered that there was limited evidence available at that time that coffee drinking was carcinogenic to the human urinary bladder. It classified coffee in Group 2B (possibly carcinogenic to humans).
A number of studies since have reported a moderate increase in the risk of bladder cancer with coffee consumption9. However, the risk has not been associated with how much coffee has been consumed. or for how long, which suggests that any link between the two is not a straightforward one.
Recent evidence also contradicts these earlier findings: those who drink coffee are 18% less likely to develop bladder cancer than those who do not, and this figure increases to 26% in men9,11,21.
A recent, large literature review also suggests that coffee consumption could be linked to a reduced risk of bladder cancer, particularly in men5.
Therefore the evidence to date is inconclusive. A critical confounding factor is linked to the type of water used to prepare coffee, as chlorinated tap water is thought to increase the risk of bladder cancer, whereas mineral water does not appear to. Another confounder is smoking which usually goes hand in hand with both alcohol and coffee consumption21.
No association between coffee and kidney cancer
The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) identified a total of 23 studies, which all concluded there was no link between coffee consumption and kidney cancer11. A further review and another study including around 750,000 participants also found no link22,23.
Coffee consumption not linked to a higher risk of prostate cancer
In 2010, a meta-analysis of studies found no influence of coffee on the risk of developing prostate cancer24. Two further, large studies suggest that coffee drinkers are at lower risk of developing prostate cancer than non-coffee drinkers5, 25.

Does Coffee Affect Kidneys?
Coffee is a daily staple for millions of people every day. Mostly consumed because of the morning pickup it provides, coffee also provides health benefits. According to the Mayo Clinic website, when consumed in reasonable amounts, coffee may help with Parkinson's disease and type II diabetes; it also contains large amounts of antioxidants. While it has been the culprit in some famous but unfounded health myths, such as that it will stunt your growth, one accusation may be true. Coffee may have negative effects on your kidneys.
The Role of the Kidneys
Your kidneys are located in your lower back. The two fist-sized organs contain millions of tiny filters that turn waste and extra fluid into urine, which is then excreted from the body. According to the National Kidney and Urologic Diseases Information Clearinghouse, each day the kidneys remove two quarts of waste and water from the blood. The waste is a by-product of the process of breaking down nutrients from food; if the kidneys did not remove the waste, it would damage the body.
The Effect of Coffee on the Kidneys
The caffeine that occurs naturally in coffee is a diuretic, or a substance that increases urine production in the kidneys. Studies conducted by the Coffee Science Information Center have found that high coffee intake -- over six cups in a 24-hour period -- results in an increased urine output. The diuretic properties of coffee have long been associated with dehydration, but other studies have yet to confirm that consuming coffee, or other beverages with caffeine, causes the kidneys to increase fluid excretion and dehydration.
Kidney Stones Coffee may contribute to the development of kidney stones. Kidney stones are painful deposits that typically form from excess calcium or uric acid and range in size from a grain of sand to the size of a marble. Kidney stones form over the course of years, and according to the University of Maryland Medical Center, are four times more likely to occur in men than women. Coffee, or the caffeine in it, has been linked to increased calcium loss in the body, according to Walter Last, writing on his website Health-Science-Spirit.com. Since calcium is excreted in the urine, and coffee increases the amount of calcium excreted by the kidneys, it is reasonable to conclude that coffee may increase the likelihood of kidney stones. Research as to the effects of coffee on kidney stones has been inconclusive.
Coffee Recommendation Coffee has been shown to have a diuretic effect, accelerating the elimination of fluid through the kidneys. However, National Kidney and Urologic Diseases Information Clearinghouse has concluded that it is not necessary to eliminate coffee from your diet. Since coffee has also been shown to raise blood pressure, you should consume no more than four 8-oz. cups a day, according to a June 2006 article on the Good Morning America website.

شنیدم که آب جو خیلی مفیده برای کلیه
How Does Beer Prevent Kidney Stones?
Drinking beer can help prevent kidney stones because it helps prevent calcium deposits from being formed in your kidneys. Stouts, porters or other beers with lots of hops are best. Calcium deposits mix with salts and other minerals and ultimately turn into kidney stones. Indeed, researchers in Finland in the 1980s conducted a study of 27,001 male smokers between the ages of 50 and 69 and found each daily bottle of beer consumed reduced the risk of kidney stones by 40 percent.
