What a good idea
it sure will be hopeful to improve the pronunciations and intonations of the EFL members
but I have a piece of suggestion
I think it's better to rename the topic to Pronunciation and intonation workshop
in case , otherwise it might be confused with reading comprehension
or you may extend the aim of topic to cover the reading comprehension as well
and something else, I think you should yourself provide the text which must be read by users, since it must be within the most users English Level
and it must be whatever you prefer
wish you the best Dear AABB:11:

well I mostly focus on pronounciation and intonation. and for the name of the topic, think it would be good if we stick in sort of pronouciation workshope or whatever. any way I'm giong to put an article and wait for you guys to upload your reading files to check'em out.tnx
Article 001:
Iraq is demanding an explanation from the U.S. military about the death of a relative of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
Authorities Sunday said the relative was shot dead Friday in a raid by U.S. soldiers in Hindiya, east of the holy city of Karbala.
The U.S. is investigating the incident, which comes as Washington is trying to negotiate a long-term security agreement with Iraq. That deal would permit U.S. forces to stay in Iraq beyond December 31, when their United Nations mandate expires. Concerns about Iraqi sovereignty have slowed the talks.
In central Iraq today, police said a car bomb killed at least seven policemen and wounded two others in the north-central town of Dhuluiya.
Iraqi police also said the intelligence chief of the southern port city of Basra was killed Saturday in a drive-by shooting in eastern Baghdad. The official, Brigadier General Jabar Musaid, was killed while visiting relatives in a neighborhood

any way..... here is the second reading session:
Senator McCain toured a Colombian port by boat to get a first hand look at the country's efforts to cut down on drug trafficking.
McCain will also stop in Mexico on his way back to the United States.
Obama, meanwhile, was in Colorado Wednesday speaking about the importance of volunteerism and national service.
Obama has proposed expanding government funded national service programs like Americorps inside the United States, as well as a plan to employ military veterans in the rapidly expanding field of renewable energy.
Obama also spoke about how his service programs would have an impact overseas.
Political analysts say Obama has been moving steadily toward the middle of the political spectrum in recent weeks as he tries to counter Republican critics who say he is too liberal.
