Install each setup archive to required computer as it is described
below:
server.exe (it has to be installed first)
This is the main component of Network Security Protector used for
the purpose of data synchronization. It lets the clients to exchange
information. You should install this service application on a server
computer that is accessible by TCP/IP protocol from all locations
where you have the client applications of Network Security Protector
running. This service works as NT service therefore it will keep
working in the logoff mode. After you install this service
application, you will be prompted to enter the TCP/IP port number
to be used by all clients of Network Security Protector including
the administration utility of Network Security Protector. Use the
same port number on the server and in all clients. If you do not
understand what it is, leave the default port number that will be
offered while installation as it is. To change configuration, use
the icon "Network Security Protector Server" from the Start Menu.
gui.exe (it has to be installed after you install server.exe)
This is the administration utility of Network Security Protector
used for applying security restrictions to the remote clients via
Network Security Protector's server. You should install this utility
on a computer from which you will administer all your remote
computers. After you install this utility, you will be prompted to
enter the host name and the TCP/IP port number of the server to be
used by the utility to communicate with the desired server. It is
important that you use the same port number as you use on the
server.
client.exe (it has to be installed after you install server.exe and gui.exe)
This is the client part of the Network Security Protector that is
supposed to be installed on remote computers. It will actually
receive security restrictions and patches from the server and will
apply them to the remote computer automatically. You should install
this service application on all client computers that have to be
protected. This service works as NT service therefore it will keep
working in the logoff mode. After you install this service
application, you will be prompted to enter the host name and the
TCP/IP port number of the server to be used by the client to
communicate with the desired server. It is important that you use
the same port number everywhere (on the server and in all clients).
To change configuration, use the icon

Making a Backup of your Server no doubt goes without saying. But
what about the desktop PCs and Notebooks? Do they not contain vital
data and information too?
Unfortunately, the first you often hear about it is either when the
computer won't work anymore, that critical information was actually
only saved locally or when a disk actually needs to be sent to your
new York office today.
In such cases it is vital that you first made an image of the
computer using O&O DiskImage Professional Edition. You can then
simply boot the computer from the Start CD and restore the
computer's image. Within a very short space of time, the computer
is back in its previous form and with all the data available once
again.
O&O DiskImage 2 can perform either an incremental imaging or just as easily image an entire system. The imaged data can then be encrypted and also compressed to various different levels. The splitting of images onto different storage volumes can either be individually set or O&O DiskImage will automate the splitting.
Should only particular files or directories from an image be required, it is not necessary to restore the whole image. Images can be mounted as drives with O&O DiskImage enabling direct access to individual files or directories.

where you have the client applications of Network Security Protector
running. This service works as NT service therefore it will keep
working in the logoff mode. After you install this service
application, you will be prompted to enter the TCP/IP port number
to be used by all clients of Network Security Protector including
the administration utility of Network Security Protector. Use the
same port number on the server and in all clients. If you do not
understand what it is, leave the default port number that will be
offered while installation as it is. To change configuration, use
the icon "Network Security Protector Server" from the Start Menu.
gui.exe (it has to be installed after you install server.exe)
This is the administration utility of Network Security Protector
used for applying security restrictions to the remote clients via
Network Security Protector's server. You should install this utility
on a computer from which you will administer all your remote
computers. After you install this utility, you will be prompted to
enter the host name and the TCP/IP port number of the server to be
used by the utility to communicate with the desired server. It is
important that you use the same port number as you use on the
server.

Making a Backup of your Server no doubt goes without saying. But
what about the desktop PCs and Notebooks? Do they not contain vital
data and information too?
Unfortunately, the first you often hear about it is either when the
computer won't work anymore, that critical information was actually
only saved locally or when a disk actually needs to be sent to your
new York office today.
In such cases it is vital that you first made an image of the
computer using O&O DiskImage Professional Edition. You can then
simply boot the computer from the Start CD and restore the
computer's image. Within a very short space of time, the computer
is back in its previous form and with all the data available once
again.
O&O DiskImage 2 can perform either an incremental imaging or just as easily image an entire system. The imaged data can then be encrypted and also compressed to various different levels. The splitting of images onto different storage volumes can either be individually set or O&O DiskImage will automate the splitting.
Should only particular files or directories from an image be required, it is not necessary to restore the whole image. Images can be mounted as drives with O&O DiskImage enabling direct access to individual files or directories.
