Hello every body;
The teacher is more important than institute; a bad institute can have good teacher and vice versa. For years I've gone to English classes, and I had lots of teachers but I've got this point that teacher is very important.

If you want to learn TALKING English, be sure that going to the class is the best choice but if you want to learn English in order to translate sth or improve your comprehension that’s not necessary; and you can learn it with studying your self at home. You can get started with interchange books and after that with 504, but if you want to increase your education quality you should watch movies and listen to the radio, do not try to watch movies that don't have English subtitles. Try to start with cartoons, because you can understand them easier than movies.

If you want to remember words and improve your vocabulary the best way is that you use words, if you use the word you won't forget it. Going to classes lets you not to forget the words, because you always use them.

And something else I think that learning English can not be able just beat in the ocean and reach and we should use Persian language beside English too. What's your idea?

The gas , i mean the fuel of autoes. and the petrol which you mentioned is the oil in general meaning.

lets talk about gas and its price in Iran. why the price is the lowest gas price in the world do you know? .Why the Iranian cars are the worst autos which designed in the world and have the most gas consuming per kilometer.
why Iranian think that the low gas pric is their right?

Let me tell u some ways that u can do them for improving Ur English
u know I think it's better 2 start from ur books if u take English course .u can listen 2 ur tapes and try 2 write down everything u hear and then try 2 repeat it just like what u hear .l
Watching movie is also good and very helpful...I suggest u 2 start with Walt Disney’s movies. When u got a little better in English start listening to news. Within a year or two from now u’ll be able to do it. (If u study hard). I myself suggest VOA (voice of America). A bit hard but good of course .u can also find the text on the site which is really helpful.
Read whatever u find .even a sentence. i think short stories R the best ones 4 u .u know because when u study a text or article in a particular field u have 2 learn lot's of technical words of that field .
And one more thing… just speak English with everyone. DO NOT CARE WHAT THEY THINK ABOUT U.

hey all,
I have another statement about thinking in English. I believe that it's a major problem for all Iranian people, because they think in Farsi and try to translate the exact sentence into English. That's the worse thing someone can do.
Thinking in English means when you are given a lecture to write, Don't write the persian and then translate it to english. Just write the phrase in English, no need even to think in Persian.
I used to write my diary in English... It was a great help.

I haven't been here for a long time and I think it's become a really interesting topic.
If you don't mind I want to tell my idea about things like telepathy and other things that dear pegah has mentioned.

I think all of these works that seems strange to us is just related to the term of believing ourselves. I mean when you believe that you can do something , sure you will do it. It doesn't need any super powers to be able to do such things. Of course this is my opinion and sure you'll disagree but don't blame me for telling my feeling about the subject.

This subject is like discussion on the existence of god. I think because the human being have always bee in need of somebody or something that has an ultimate power, in order to be able to rely on him in cases of difficulty he has created a term called god. In my opinion if you honestly believe that something has a power that can help you , in some cases it will help you. Of course you will help yourself believing that the thing you were expecting to help you , has helped you.

anyway let me introduce myself. i'm beginer. i'm iranian. but i had not a single place to remain. so i'm just iranian. i was abroad for many years and even there i hadn't a single place. i traveled to different places and this is the cause i cant speak one single language fluently. and it's profit was that i got familiar with some more languages. i'm in iran right now and feel that nowhere is like here. i'm serious.
i studied some not- fully- related fields such as computer, physics, linguistics, and many other areas of science. later we can talk about it... sorry i'm really a chaterbox

با توجه به اینکه فرمودید در زبان انگلیسی مبتدی هستید، متن را به زبان فارسی می نویسم تا ساده تر صحبت کرده باشم:

عزیزم برای تقویت زبان انگلیسی باید اول از همه تصمیم بگیری که واقعا براش وقت بزاری، زبان انگلیسی یک مهارته و مهارت با تمرین بدست می آید نه فقط با مطالعه.

جدا از اینکه بخواهی خودت تمرین کنی، یا به کلاس های خصوصی یا عمومی بری، باید همواره دز نظر داشته باشی که مهم اینه که انگلیسی را برای رساندن منظورت به خدمت بگیری.

گفتی در یادگیری زمان ها مشکل داری، بهتره برای یادگیری زمان ها به یک مسئله مهم توجه کنی، و آن اینه که با کمک هر زمان ما قصد گفتن یک چیزی داریم، بعنوان مثال :
اگر من به خانمم بگویم I have been loving you since 5 years ago در اینجا خواستم به او بفهمانم که در تمامی 5 سال گذشته عاشقانه دوسش داشتم ( استمراری) و این موضوع هنوز هم ادامه داره.
گرامر یعنی فراپیام، شما که زبان شناسی خوندی این را راحت می گیری، سعی کن گرامر را به جای فرمول با مثال یادبگیری و همینطور سعی کن که برای یادگرفتن گرامر از مثال هایی که در فیلم ها هست استفاده کنی.

برای اینکه خودت مطالعه کنی فکر می کنم این کتاب ها بتوانند بهت خوب کمک کنند:

کتاب New person to person که دو جلد قرمز و آبی داره و برای تقویت مکالمه روزمره و Listening خوبه
کتاب Essential grammer in Use که مرجع خوبی برای گرامره و تقریبا برای هر ساختاری مثال های خوبی زده و سه جلد از مبتدی تا پیشرفته با سه CD داره که باید جداگانه بخری، خوبی CD هاش اینه که با بازی می تونی گرامرت را تقویت کنی.
همینطور یک کتاب قدیمی هست که گرامر را در خلال داستانهای کوتاه درس می ده و من هم با بعضی از شاگردانم از روی همین کتاب گرامر را تمرین می کنم، به نام Practice Progress .
اگر این کتاب ها را خریدی خبرم کن تا جدول و راهنمای تمرین و متد مناسب را برات بگم تا هر جای دنیا که بودی، خودت بتونی کم کم انگلیسی ات را کامل کنی.

عزیزم و عزیزانی که این سوال، سوال شما نیز هست:

اول از همه پیشنهاد می کنم که مواردی را که جهت راهنمایی به مبتدیان مطرح است به زبان فارسی توضیح دهید، به این ترتیب همه عزیزان مبتدی به راحتی و بدون صرف وقت برای معنی کردن تک تک جملات، دستورالعمل را خواهند آموخت، البته خیلی ها هم باور دارند که وقتی هدف آموزش انگلیسی است، جز انگلیسی نباید گفت و نشاید گفت!

برای تقویت Speaking متدهای مختلفی وجود دارد، اما متدی که شاگردان بسیاری توانسته اند با آن تا حد نمره 6.5 به سرعت پیش روند، متدی است که به متد Function معرو ف است و متاسفانه هنوز در ایران به خوبی جا نیافتده است.

چطور و چگونه از این متد استفاده کنیم؟

اگر به صحبت های بقیه عزیزان به خوبی دقت کرده باشی، همه آنها تاکید می کردند که برای بهتر شدن زبان، نباید از فارسی به انگلیسی ترجمه کرد، این دقیقا همان رازی است که باعث شده این عزیزان بتوانند موفق شوند، اما این قضیه به معنی کنار گذاشتن کامل زبان فارسی نیست، بلکه بهترین نتیجه را وقتی خواهی گرفت که از زبان فارسی نیز برای تقویت انگلیسی استفاده کنی،

ایشان پیشنهاد می کنند که شما به انگلیسی فکر کنید و فارسی را ببوسید و بگذارید کنار، البته این روش بسیار موثر است و عملی، ولی آیا برای یک مبتدی ممکن است؟ حقیقت این است که اگر آزمون IELTS را برای گروه بندی شاگردان به عنوان یک روش استاندارد در نظر بگیریم، شاگردانی که نمره آنها حداقل 4.5 باشد، می توانند با این روش مهارت های زبانی خود را تقویت کنند، ولی آیا یک شاگرد مبتدی لغت و گرامر کافی در اختیار دارد تا انگلیسی بیاندیشد؟ اگر یک مبتدی این روش راانتخاب کرده باشد به سرعت ناامید می شود و یا اینکه تصمیم می گیرد فقط خیلی ساده و مختصر فکر کند!!

پس چطور یک مبتدی باید پیشرفت کند؟

به همان راز فکر کن:
حقیقت این است که زبان ها به یکدیگر به شکل کلمه به کلمه قابل ترجمه نیستند و ترجمه کلمه به کلمه کاری عبث و بیهوده است. بعنوان یک مثال ساده، اگر شخصی به شما بگوید خداحافظ به انگلیسی چه می شود؟ شما نمی توانید معادل GOD Protect You! را پیشنهاد کنید،
همانطور که متوجه شدید نکته در همین جاست، به جای یادگیری کلمه به کلمه، باید جمله به جمله یاد گرفت و سپس کلمات جدید را در جمله جاگذاری کرد.

به عنوان مثال :
برای یک آقایی که به خواستگاری یک دختر خانم رفته بود، تنها چیزی که مهم بود زیبایی آن دختر بود، دختر که معیارهای دیگری نیز داشت، خیلی علاقه مند بود که بداند چرا این مرد به خواستگاری او آمده، وقتی که علت را جویا شد، متوجه شد که تنها علت خواستگاری، زیبایی او بوده، تعجب کرد و با تعجب پرسید: آیا زیبایی برای تو همه چیزه؟

آیا زیبایی برای تو همه چیزه؟ Is Beauty all the matter to you?

خوب این جمله را تکرار کنید و سعی کنید که آنرا حتی حفظ کنید، به ساختار گرامری او زیاد توجه نکنید و تلاش هم نکنید که آنرا به کلماتش تجزیه و ترجمه کنید،

حال بفرمایید:

آیا پول برای تو همه چیزه؟ Is money all the matter to you?
آیا خانواده ات برای تو همه چیزه؟ Is family all the matter to you?

حال بفرمایید زیبایی برای من همه چیز نیست، عشق به تو برای من همه چیزه:
Beauty is not all the matter to me, your love is all the matter.

امیدوارم با این مثال های اندک توانسته باشم، راه را به شما نشان بدهم، برای تقویت زبان انگلیسی جملات انگلیسی را از آسان به سخت جمع آوری کرده و هر بار با تغییر دادن جمله و جایگزین کردن کلمه مناسب، جمله جدیدی تولید کنید.

در این روش:

شما می توانید جملات فارسی را بدون ترس به انگلیسی برگردانید، چون کلمه به کلمه ترجمه نمی کنید، بلکه Function به Function ( جمله به جمله ) بر می گردانید.
همینطور می توانید مطمئن باشید که آنچه می گویید کاملا درست است، چون جملات از صحبت های انگلیسی زبانان بومی انتخاب شده است.
همینطور در این روش مکث بین کلمات از بین می رود، چون کلمات بارها و بارها استفاده می شوند و تنها کلمات متغیر آنها تغییر می کنند.

متاسفانه این روش در شروع نیاز به یک مربی خوب دارد، ولی مطمئن هستم با همین سر نخ از این به بعد بهتر کار خواهی کرد و به جملات زیبایی که به زبان انگلیسی می شنوی، حساس خواهی شد.

راستی از این Function استفاده کن:

I will get used to it in no time.: من به زودی بهش عادت خواهم کرد.

حال بگو: من به زودی به این متد عادت خواهم کرد،

لذت بخش است.... اینطور نیست؟

2- How do you describe your English Skill? beginer, intermediate, advanced

5-Which one is easier for you? ( Speaking, listening, reading, writting)

For example we cant say "to do suicide" or "to make crime" and the correct form is "to commit suicide" and "to commit a crime".
But in the case of using "mistake" I admit that we should use "make" and I wasn't certain about using "commit".
So I appreciate you for teaching me something new.

I think the best method which can help you to improve your English is using this technique.

You said your reading skills is the most improved one, you should use it to improve your speaking skill,

Prepare OXFORD dictionary for students.

in this dictionary there are many words which are marked for you with a little star.

choose one of them and read the first example, then try to say the example in another way.

Just like this:

word: abandon
example in dictionary:
The bank robbers abandoned the car outside the city.

or you can say:

The bank robbers changed the car outside the city.
( you can change the whole sentence but not the meaning.)

after reading the sentence you should try to communicate the same meaning but with other sentence , just like this

The bank robbers left the car, outside the city

try not to write the sentences, but to say them orally. try to use your mind as your paper.
you should do this practice for about 40 words per week, in this way you will improve your speaking (fluency , accuracy and complexity at the same time)
.

do this and tell me your idea, then I will tell you about improving your listening skills

it is hard at begging, but be positive.

Yeah you're right. "Any" can be use with both countable and uncountable nouns. But when you are using any with a countable noun like "problem" , it should be in plural form , not singular.
For example :

Uncountable : I don't need any money.(Grammatically correct)
Singular Countable : I don't have any problem.(This is grammatically wrong)
Plural Countable : I don't have any problems.(Grammatically correct)

Yeah that can be right but tell me, how many persons do you know which are not connected to Internet?
Nowadays almost everyone ( Specially the young ones ) are connected to Internet.

But I agree that the Internet users are not everybody.
And one other point is that the users of internet are not introverts. An introvert person is someone who likes to be alone and feels uncomfortable when he/she is among other people.
But the Internet users ( almost all of them, ) use it to find friends via chat and other ways. So I think they can not be called introvert because they are always among other people virtually.

ريشه شناسي يا اتيمولوژي به معناي شناسايي و رديابي تاريخچه و منشا يك كلمه است . اين كار يا با ارائه خواستگاه كلمه و يا با تجزيه كلمه به ريشه پيش وند و پس وند آن صورت مي گيرد .

The word etymology is derived from the Greek etumos which means real or true. The ending ology suggests the study/science of something, as in biology or geology. And that is the etymology of etymology. It is the study of the origins of words; how they evolved. Confused?

I myself think english class is really important because I think FORCE works. when you go to class you have to study.

practice progress

I don't recommend using new interchange, it is not helpful without a teacher.

BUt if you provide above books, I will email you the method you should use.

But I think there is no need to have just one instructor. All of use can teach whatever we know and we can also learn from others. For example there are some parts that I'm good enough and I can help my friends here. But in the other hand there are some parts that I myself have problems and I wanna solve them. So dun wait for any special teacher. Ask your questions and if any of us know the answer we will help you.

Dear friend

As Peyman mentioned you can watch English movies with english subtitle. but if you are not fond of
watching movies you can listen to english songs. 1st listen to them and see how much percent you can get after that find the lyrics on net and see your problems. It is useful. But I can assure you english movies are much better than english songs.
And one thing, There is no need to pay attention to words very much just spend sometime on hearing an english lanquage which can be news,a song, a movie, whatever. How did you learn persin?! By hearing, English is also like that, hear hear and hear but sometimes when you are in a good mood try to listen and pay attention to words and stress of words and also stress of a sentence. If you do it after 4 or 5 month you can see your progress.
By the way I recommand you some programs on T.V which are really easy ans also intersting.Better than new, Bcuz I myslef hate listenin to news.

Watch Oprah program on MBC 4. From Sat-wed at 9:30 P.M

Watch America's got talent on MBC 4. Tursdays at 9:30 P.M

And also SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, I dun remember the time but It's also one of MBC 4 programs.
By the way, Watch MBC 2, MBC 3 And MBC 4. These 3 channels really helped me.

Mean is Verb! So after "my" you can not have a Verb.

If you wanna say
منظورم اینه
"you should use "I mean

After my we can have a noun; My problem, My book

I meant: منظورم این بود
By the way if you still have a problem let us know, And one more thing make a sentence with "mean" and make another sentence with "my":D

به نظر من اگه وقت داري بهتره از آموزشگاه هاي زبان استفاده كني
چون اونجا معمولا همه با هم انگليسي صحبت مي كنن و اين خودش تو پيشرفت زبان تاثير خيلي عالي داره
اگه هم كه وقت كلاس رفتن نداري ميتوني با همون اطالاعات خودت انگليسي صحبت كني (مثلا با اون دوستات كه انگليسيشون خوبه) و به اين ترتيب كم كم پيشرفت مي كني
و بازم مي گم سعي كن زياد انگليسي صحبت كني من خودم همين جوري ياد گرفتم

سلام
بنده به شدت به مقالات انگليسي در زمينه كامپيوتر وحتي خود help‌نرم افزار ها نياز دارم ولي انگليسيم خوب نيست. اما به شدت به ترجمه كردنشون نياز دارم
حالا فهميدم دواش ياد گرفتن زبانه و هيچ راه ديگه اي نيست واسه همين كمك كنيد
1) واسه ترجمه كردن متون كامپيوتري خود انگليسي را ياد بگيرم ( كلاس زبان و..) يا كار ديگه اي كرد (بگيد)
2) كتاب زبان عمومي و زبان تخصصي رشته خود كامپيوتر را گير بيارم وكلماتش را حفظ كنم و ترجمه متونش را گير بيارم خوبه؟
3)كسي اگه منبع آموزشي پيرامون يادگيري زبان تخصصي ويژه كامپيوتر داره معرفي كنه

لطفا شيوه را هم ياد بديد مثلا اگه مي گيد متن گير بيار و شروع به ترجمشون كن بگيد چه راههايي بهتره
روزي چند ساعت؟ روزي چند لغت ؟ چه جوري لغت حفكنم بهتره و.........
خلاصه هرچي مي تونيد بگيد

راستش من خودم از روش دوم استفاده میکنم و معمولا هم به نتیجه میرسم.
مثلا یه دیکشنری اختصاصی و یک دیکشنری عمومی میزارم کنار دستم.
بعدش دونه دونه کلماتی رو که میبینم بلد نیستم از دیکشنری در میارم و روی کاغذ مینویسم(بدون ترجمه)
بعد از اینکه هر صفحه تموم شد سعی میکنم کلماتی رو که حفظ کردم معنیش رو جلوش بنویسم.
اگر تونستم که هیچی اما اگر نه یه بار دیگه معنیش رو یه کاغذ دیگه مینویسم تا به لیست کلماتی که نمیدونم اضافه بشه.
این کار رو برای هر کلمه تا وقتی که بتونم معنیش رو به یاد بیارم ادامه میدم.
یا حق...

but with deferent use. But deferace of between this topic and other topics
is that this topic creat for beginners, nee elementary words becuas
i'm a beginner.Of course people can ask their questions about

We use from (avenue) only about streets that have in their both sides tree

or have in their both sides ore one side building. And (avenue) is wide

their simpledt difference, so please clarify where is your problem with these words??

Baby = is a kid the age of 0-6
children=The plural of child which means -I think kids under 12 are children and after that their are teenagers
