Hi dear it's done
You're quite welcome here! I don't think anybody has the right to tell who can and who can't participate here or in any other kind of thread. if you want to participate in this, then you can. just throw out your questions so they can be answered. I myself do like this thread. it's more than just getting to know someone. The answers you get and the way they answer the questions. well, I call that psychology, the study of the human mind. so, as I said, it's not really getting to know just one person. it's about getting to know more about the human mind, the reactions if you know what I mean. it can be interesting, especially if the questions were a little deeper
anyway, I don't think it's still time for the next one. is it? end
I do appreciate you dear for your complete Guiedlines
I also Welcome dear New comer
===================
I've got to say that for the recent quarrels and problem of the topic
some reactions are being done through private message

Cris_Y
dear marjan. nice to see you here!
so, my questions:
so which part of your study did you like the best? Are you asking me what my favorite subjects are? Well, I love geometry and English. But, of course not the English we get to study at school. It’s just too dull
what do you usually do with computers? I write emails, poetry, stories. I listen to my favorite songs. And I do of course spend some time online, chatting with friends, checking my emails, that sort of stuff
how often do you check you mail? Everyday or at least every two days
what do you feel about these words: Do I have to have a feeling toward them? Let’s see
just plain marjan well, it’s me. Just me, not the one others think I am
p30world I came across it one day and I’m happy I came across it. Need I say more? end
pc believe me, it’s a good thing
hot chair I like it
cris_y(:D) I do like it when people smile, you know
which part of this forum do you like the best? I only come to the English part sometimes. And it’s good
ill be back with more questions so, then see you later
have a nice time I will. Thanks Miss Cris :) Thanks
Peyman
Hello to everybody specially to you marjan
1- What was your course in high school? Physics and Math
2 - Have you taken entrance exam yet? Sure, I have. And well, it wasn’t the monster most people talk about
3 - Which kinds of music do you listen ( If you do listen music at all ) Of course I do. Well, I do not like it when a music is too fast, you know. The more peaceful ones
4 - Are you now the ideal 17-year-ld person of your childhood dreams? I never had any kind of dreams about an ideal 17-year-old. Had I? well, I have a poor memory. Anyhow, I could be better. We all can be better. But, still I’m not uncomfortable with myself. At least, I do know that I should get better
See you later guys

1 question
some girls have problem by their own . they do not want to be a girl .
because they want to be more free
are you ok that you are a girl
?
thank you .
behrooz
Dear Behrooz, I’m free. I’m going to study whatever I like. I choose my own friends. I can decide about my life, my future, my goal in life. I do not fear death. I have faith in whatever I want to have faith in. I’m a girl and I’m free. I might not be able to go out by myself and walk in the streets in the middle of the night. But neither can a guy! And besides, I do not even want to go out at that time. so, you see. I have my freedom. My freedom of mind, my freedom of heart. I am who I choose to be

Iran is in its most terrible state these days. But Iran is much better than it shows. Great things will sooner or later happen in Iran. Great things you can never imagine. Neither can I! but I’m sure of it anyhow
Diana
Hi dear marjan !
Are u ok friend !
Dear Diana
I’m quite fine :) Thank you
I have some question ?
Which sort of music do u like ?
I do love Classical music. And well, you do become interested in Jazz when your dad loves it. Don’t you? end
What do u think about communication of boys and girls !?
Well, If you’re talking about “friendship”, then I can see no problem in that. But then again, some boys and girls cross the line, if you know what I mean
What’s your idea about hot chair!?
I think I’ve already talked about this in one of my previous posts. But, since you asked, I’ll tell it once more. I think this thread is more useful than just getting to know a particular person. Here, by reading their questions and answers, I get into the mind of my countrymen and learn more about them which I think is quite important
what do you think about color of this word :
God white
Hot chair red
Friend ! Pink
Parent ! Green
football ! Green
love Pink
Freedom Blue
Iran Orange
Life Lavender
Poverty Yellow

can you kill a human with a logical justification? Actually not
what kind of animals do you like? I like horses and dogs
your favorite football club? Not interested in football
your favorite car brand? Honestly, I know nothing about cars
do you like CG(Computer Graphic) and did you never create an art effect? It does sound interesting. But, no. I’ve never done that
is your handwrite kharchang ghoorbaghe?(sorry who can translate that to EN? Not really! But, it’s not beautiful either
who is Denzel Washington? A famous actor or so I’ve heard. I’ve seen a couple of the movies he’s played in
did you never write a program with computer? No
when you are depress what do you do? Depressed? Me? Well, I dislike that word. But when I do feel a little useless, I just try to be of more use to the people around me. It works for me
can you tell us a joke? Hmm, well, I’m not good at telling jokes. But let me see if I can remember anything:…”A face can say many things. Especially the mouth part” Did you get it? end
what dose Graphmax look like? Well, let me use my sixth sense! Let me concentrate! Graphmax has a pair of eyes, a nose in the center of his face, two lips further down his nose. I can also see a pair of eyebrows. No, not there. But above his eyes. With a chin, a brow. He does look like a very confident person. How am I doing so far? :) endBest wishes

OK Petrso, let me see. can it be some poetic verses since I myself love poems? Not that nobody has heard them before. but, I've read them more than you can imagine and they're still quite new and meaningful to me. here it goes
:)
Split the atom's heart, and lo
within it thou wilt find a sun
[ Persian mystic poem]
If Khidr did wreck the vessel on the sea
Yet in this wrong there are a thousand rights
[The Mathnavi, Mawlana]
I do as bidden, and I bring the message
Whether it give thee counsel or offense
[Sa'di]
and here are a few more nice meaningful sentences by Thomas Perdue
If I say yes, then you will say no. But yet still, we may both be right
There was a man who had all the riches of the world, and then he died
Why is water wet? It does not even try to be dry

Hello again
Dear Marjan : Hi, :) good to see you here again
What would you do if you were the only one on earth?
I would just as well die and disappear. What’s the use of being the only one alive? end
What if there was a really good opportunity for you to go abroad? Would you leave Iran?
Not at the moment which is for personal reasons
What would happen if you don't pass the entrance exam?
I’ll go to Tehran nevertheless to further my studies in my most favorite subject: English literature
What kinds of movie do you watch?
Whatever that actually teaches me something. It better not be an action, nor a horror one. There’s a kid in our house and those do not have a nice influence on kids, you know
What do you think about Iran and Iranian people?
I love Iran. But I love everywhere anyway. I can live all my life in a desert and still call it a heaven

What kind of traits should Men and Women obtain in order to be complete? In Every Manner
Well, We can never be complete and We all know that. However, we’re all trying to be a better person all the time. then again, sometimes it’s all words and sometimes we never do as we say. “Let things be as they are for today. I’ll be a better person tomorrow.” A tomorrow that never comes. I think the best and the most important trait that we should have is to be understanding towards others
How’s your relationship with God
I’m happy to announce we’re getting along so well. He understands me and I understand him
Have you ever been in a situation that you wanted God to show you a sign so that you find out He hears you

I think I'm more into country and classical music. Jazz sounds nice to me as well. I'm probably a little different than people my age

Hey Hey Hey GUYS AND GALS!!!
Yup this is H from London, UK. I have been kindly invited by Amir to sit in the hot seat! I hope it doesn't get too hot for me! As some of you know, I'm hoping to come to Iran soon in order to further my study of Persian and to teach English. I'm waiting (and praying) for my visa to come through at the moment. I hope to hear from them by the end of next week. SO by the time I depart this lovely hot seat, I will Inshallah have my visa!!
PETROS: Thanks for your many many many questions! Your questions seem to start with the most important things (God, character traits) and then get less and less important (Armpits, frogs, chickens etc). Though I may be mistaken..Well I will attempt to mirror your approach by making my answers more linguistically challenging at the start, and then getting progressively easier. So if the first few don't make sense, just scroll down!
SO.. traits for a man and woman to be complete: Well this can be answered in a number of ways and it really depends on your definition of 'completeness'. For me, the 'complete man' is the 'perfect man' and the 'perfect man' I associate with what the Islamic mystics have called 'al-insan al-kamil'. Now since we are not infallible, the state of being 'perfect' is in fact a continuous process of striving towards perfection. From this point of view then, and perhaps paradoxically, the perfect person is the person who is always striving towards perfection. On a more practical level, perfection consists essentially of the Prophetic virtues. Incidentally, this definition includes both the genders and as such when a person reaches the degree of 'Rujuliyya' or 'Manliness', this should be understood as a gender neutral term
Wow! That was a long answer! Okay I will try to be more concise!
Relationship with God: This is a difficult question to answer. al-hamdlillah I am a Muslim and I strive to 'submit' my will to the will of God. At the end of the day, it is God who will judge how our relationship is with Him.
Sign from God question: Yes I remember one experience in particular when I was quite young. I won't mention the experience itself but I was very grateful after I received the sign.
Medicine/Remedy question: Well I'm not really a doctor, my elder sister is a doctor so I leave the medical stuff to her! I wouldn't want to interfere in case I make the disease worse! Old remedy: My father says that boiled ginger with honey is good for colds
Football was being played
Pastimes: I LOVE reading. It depends on how much time I have but I could read from morning to night if I have nothing else to do.
Men/Women advantages: Women like talking, men like listening. So everybody is happy!
Slang: NICE question! Okay now this is extreme slang and if the person you are talking to is not from London they probably won't understand you even if they are native speakers of English!!:
Dat was bare jokes man = It was very funny
Aaaaaight = Are you well? (This is hard to pronounce correctly!)D
I absolutely legged it = I ran away very fast
Mug = Face
N.B: Use with caution!!!
Frog/Camel armpits: Do camels have arms ???
Chicken's eyelids :I have no idea! Is this a joke?
Persian questions: Okay my Persian isn't that good at the moment. This is why I am coming to Iran!! 'Dam' has many meanings but I think 'dam kardan' can mean 'to breathe' . So 'dam kuni' is 'you breathe'. I'm wrong, aren't I???
ghir= to take
dadan = to give
be = to
kesi = person
altogether = I don't know!

Dear Huzayfa,
Hi :31:
I have some questions
1- can u tell us a bit about yrself? your age,job and etc.
2- when did you first heard of Iran?
3-what was interesting about Iran, which made you decide to come here?
4-In which countries you've lived before?
5- have you done any research about living condition in Iran?
6- where is your favourite place?
7- where do you want to visit?
8-where's your favourite place to live?
9- what's your favourite food?
10- Did amir describe what the Hotchair is?
That's All for now
Thanks for you time :11:
p.s. Petros there's nothing wrong with my sentence!!!!! you can use did or didn't!!!
I meant: آیا دیدی؟
I didn't meant : مگه ندیدی؟
Dear Huzayfa
Thanks for showing such enthusiasm in answering the Q's
I would be grateful if you answer the questions in this format:
1-How old are you?
I'm 25
2- How's your relationship with your God
None of your business :D
So that we can discriminate between Q's and A's (the color is absolutely arbitrary) And also you don't have too use such a big font size
Thank you very much
گیر دادن به کسی = Keep asking questions and nagging about someone's works
Can we use "Stick To Somebody"? Yeah
Anyway, Thanx for answering my Questions

Hey dear Huzayfa, (is this a good beginning?)
How is everything?
Hope all is well with you.
Here are my first package of questions :D I'd be grateful if you kindly mention the errors and use of inappropriate words.
1- Where are you from? What is your country of origin? (Since your name is Arabic)
2- What is your field of study? Are you a PhD student now?
3- Are you married? If not, when will you get married? Do you have any girlfriends? (If I may ask, I apologize if it's an offensive question or a private and personal one that I shouldn't ask)
4- Do you live with your parents? Any brothers and sisters?
5- You are a Muslim and I think in U.K., racism exists. Have you ever experienced a race-based bigotry, prejudice, violence, oppression, stereotyping or discrimination?
6- Which one is more beautiful? American or British accent?
7- Are you interested in music. What kind of music?
8- I think you are a devout Muslim, aren't you? Do you say your prayers regularly? Many Iranian youth of today don't care about religious tasks. What is your advice for them?
9- What is your greatest goal in your life?
10-Are you aware of Iran's shortcomings, your probable problems here, low wages, heavy traffic, nasty weather, many unrefined people, poverty, outdated and obsolete facilities and undeveloped bases, inflation and so on? I don't want to humiliate my dear country (As a poet said: If Iran is nothing more than ruins, I love these ruins) and also don't want to discourage you from coming here, but I don't want you to come here and after facing adversity, quit Iran with a bad picture in your mind.
Thank you in advance.
Please answer each asker's questions in a seperate post.
I also want to express my deepest gratitude for correction of the sentences. I'd like to ask you not to leave us alone in this forum. We really need someone with your English level in this forum. Your being here is a godsend for us :D
Best wishes
:11:
Hi people
Since I will be correcting sentences here I think I should explain my procedure first. In my classroom I would never return a student's homework with the corrections listed alone. I always give more general comments about their level and progress as well so that the student doesn't get disheartened. So let me say that for everyone who has posted so far, I have had no trouble understanding what they are trying to say.
Obviously Persian and English are very different languages and it is very difficult for a native Persian speaker to have absolutely perfect English. So don't worry too much! These minor mistakes are natural and expected.
mohammad.clergyman: Thank you for your questions. Thanks for explaining about the present too, I will have to think about it!
the hosts OVER here offer a present at the end of the period on the hot chair
? how did you notice this forum
I understand the question but it would be more natural to ask something like 'How did you come across this forum?'
I think I was searching for English language schools in Iran and I somehow stumbled upon this site.
? how did you become a muslim
My parents are Muslim too so I was born as a Muslim alhamdlillah
? what do you think of clergymen
On the whole I like them. I don't think that ALL clergymen are infallible but I think they are a very important element of society.
? are you shia or sony
I am Sunni (normal spelling in English) but I love all my Shia brothers and sisters and the Prophet's blessed family.
? if you come to iran would you let us take a photograph with you
I'm not very photogenic but for you I will make an exception. Yes!
If you wouldn't mind, I'd appreciate it if I could have your yahoo id
I use msn and I don't have a yahoo account. If you would like my msn address, send me a private message
I noticed from your profile that you are from Qum. Are you a member of the clergy? I would very much like to visit Qum when I come to Iran.
Hey dear Huzayfa, (is this a good beginning?) Terrific beginning!
How is everything?
Hope all is well with you.
Here are my first package of questions :D This is my first batch of questions
(We don't really use 'package' for questions..)
I'd be grateful if you could kindly mention the errors and use of inappropriate words
1- Where are you from? What is your country of origin? (Since your name is Arabic)
I was born and raised in Britain but my family is of Indian descent. Most British Muslims are of foreign descent but for the second and third generations, Britain is the only country we know and understand. For this reason most British Muslims prefer to define themselves primarily as British. The situation is similar for most of Europe's 50 million Muslims.
I was named after a famous companion of the Prophet (saw), called Huzayfa bin al-Yamman.
2- What is your field of study? Are you a PhD student now?
Broadly speaking, world religions but more specifically Islamic civilisation. I finished my Mphil in Theology this year and I decided to put off my doctorate for at least a year whilst I travel.
3- Are you married? If not, when will you get married? Do you have any girlfriends? (If I may ask, I apologize if it's an offensive question or a private and personal one that I shouldn't ask)
No offense taken at all. I am used to be questioned about my marital status in the Middle-East! I'm not married and I have no girlfriends. I would like to get married one day but God alone knows when. Are you married?
4- Do you live with your parents? Any brothers and sisters?
Yes and no to the first question. I have spent a long period of time away from London studying and travelling over the past seven years. When I return to London though, I stay with my family. Yes I have many brothers and sisters!
5- You are a Muslim and I think in THE U.K., racism exists. Have you ever experienced (No 'a') race-based bigotry, prejudice, violence, oppression, stereotyping or discrimination
Yes we do unfortunately have racism here. But it is not so bad and it has certainly improved immeasurably since fifty years ago. Towards Muslims in particular, things have got worse since 9/11 and 7/7 but it isn't on the whole intolerable. Some areas, of course, are much worse than others.
6- Which one is more beautiful? THE American or British accent?
British OF COURSE. We invented the language, they borrowed it.
7- Are you interested in music. What kind of music?
Yes. At the moment I am listening to mainly Syrian religious music or 'sim3a'
8- I think you are a devout Muslim, aren't you? Do you say your prayers regularly? Many Iranian youth of today don't care about religious tasks. What is your advice for them?
Well it is for God to decide how devout we are and whether he will accept are works. Yes I do pray but again I ask God to make our devotions sincere for His sake alone. It is hard for me to analyse the Iranian youth and how religious they are since I haven't been to Iran yet. On a general level, I would advise myself and others to reflect on the signs of God in the horizons and within themselves. What is your advice?
9- What is your greatest goal in your life?
To please my Creator. Sometimes goals become blurred or hard to see. Sometimes we even forget about out goal completely. But the important thing is to keep turning back to it again and again and again
10-Are you aware of Iran's shortcomings, your probable problems here, low wages, heavy traffic, nasty weather, many unrefined people, poverty, outdated and obsolete facilities and undeveloped bases, inflation and so on? I don't want to humiliate my dear country (As a poet said: If Iran is nothing more than ruins, I love these ruins) and also I don't want to discourage you from coming here, but I don't want you to come here and after facing adversity, quit Iran with a bad picture in your mind
I have read a little about modern Iran's problems so I have an idea of what to expect. I have also been to poverty stricken places before. Well I don't think I will ever quit Iran with a bad image in my mind because I know that people do not live in poverty voluntarily. I prefer to help rather than complain .
Is the weather in Iran really nasty? What's it like in Tehran?
Amir:
Oh and thanks for your kind welcome to stay here. I will try to keep in touch hopefully.
Why is your city lost?
Hey buddy (I think 'mate' is better for you :D), a bunch of thanks for your comprehensive and beautiful responses:10:l
It's an honor to have you here :40:l
Are you married?
Not yet. But I am seeking a good mate ;)l
What is your advice?
Nothing, because nobody minds :46:
Is the weather in Iran really nasty? What's it like in Tehran?
The weather in Tehran is worse than nasty, it's really disgusting. Every breath will result in a decrease of 1 hour of your life. However, we have many regions with fantastic weather like deserts (!), jungles, and etc
Why is your city lost?
It is just a poem, God alone knows (An expression I learned from your response right now, as I said your presence here is really appreciable) what its poet, Sohrab Sepehri, meant :D
Don't bother to answer the questions as soon as possible (You have answered at 5:00 o'clock which is about 1:30 in London). It is absolutely OK to reply even 1 day later. We don't have many askers here. Make yourself at forum :D
Moreover, since you are going to be active here ;) , I'd like to suggest that you choose an AVATAR. You can go to the
تنظیمات کاربر
meaning user settings menu, and then click on
ویرایش آواتار
which means editing avatar, and then upload an avatar or put its link there. It should not be bigger than 150*150 pixels and more than about 40KB
Sincerely yours

Thanks for the answers, and thanks for correcting my mistakes :31:
anyway,no one still told you what "Dam koni " means,
Dam koni is something that we use for cooking rice, we put part of a stuft on the pot, and it will help the rice to be well cooked:31:, the verb is " dam kardan" and it's just used for cooking rice.

Au revoir
Thank you for your difficult questions Asalbanoo! For all of these things, I think it is impossible to accurately describe them. The beauty of each one is something which needs to be experienced first-hand. So the attempted answers below are all incomplete:
1. A sea
Lots of water
2. Sunset
The time in the evening when the sun falls beneath the horizon.
3. A tree
A woody plant which normally has a main trunk and branches.
4. The color red
Impossible to define
5. A black horse

hello
how are you hozeyfa?
what a british man think about iran? all iranian are terrorist?
i went to a short trip with a french tourist .
why a foreign man is more happy than us?
can you explain?
behrooz
i have made hot chair in persian and mohammad has copied this topic from our topic
what is your idea abiut it?
Hey Amir. I'm well thank you, just been a bit busy over the pass few days. How are things with you?
1- What do you do now? You occupation? Teaching English in England? Something is screwy here
What do you do? (there are many ways to ask this question..) Your occupation?
At the moment I'm just waiting to set out on my travels. Hopefully it will be soon!
2- What are your hobbies?
In no particular order: Football, tennis, reading, seeing friends, snooker, eating, travelling. Normal kinda stuff..
3- Would you tell us a line of Hafez poems in English?
Okay, see if you can work out the Persian from my literal translation:
Place on my hand that cup that hunts joy
And place on my hand that goblet which is like a beautiful picture
(I'm not sure about this second line..)
4- How often do you watch movies? Which genres? What was the last one?
I love movies! It depends how busy I am but on average once a week probably. I watch most genres but I'm not too fond of the standard Hollywood rubbish. The last film I saw was a Japanese film called 'Letters from Iowa Jima'.
5- Who is your example in life? (is 'example' the correct word?)
Who is your role model in life?
There are many people who I look up to but the role model par excellence has to be Muhammad ibn AbdAllah.
6- Suppose that you have a cute 5-6 year old daughter. You have gone with her to zoo. Suddenly a lion comes out of its cage and attacks your daughter. What would you do then?
Correct but just without 'then' at the end.
What a question! Well I don't have any children as you know but if I'm blessed with some, I'm sure I would gladly sacrifice myself for them.
7- Following the previous question, now suppose that she is not your daughter, but still an innocent lovely child, what would be your reaction now?
Interesting! I'm glad I answered the last question before reading this one! I'd like to think that my reaction would be the same but sadly I don't think this is the case. Millions of children around the world go to bed every night starving but I haven't committed my life to helping them. Food for thought!
8- Do you strongly believe that Islam is the most perfect religion in the world? If so, based on what proofs?(Please answer short and sweet and without bias)
In general, I am not interested in debates about the greatness of this or that religion. Certainly I love Islam the most but I don't spend time trying to convince the world of this. Most people judge a religion by its fruit, not necessarily by its doctrines.
9- What is your greatest regret in your life?
You are really making me think with these questions! Hmmm I think I have an answer but I'd rather not write it here..
10- How do you predict the future generation's tendency towards religion?
10- How do you predict the future generation's inclination towards religion to be?
I think it is very hard to predict things like this in today's world. The world is changing so rapidly that many of the things we take for granted today can no longer be assured. Despite this, I like to remain hopeful and God knows best!
12- What are your minimum requirements for your future wife?
Lol, I don't have a requirement sheet! I prefer to meet her requirements of me rather than the other way round..
13- I think the beauty of a girl is one of the most important priorities of every boy who wants to get married. Thus, what is the fault of a poor ugly girl who lacks this divine donation? What should she do?
'gift' instead of 'donation'
Very interesting question. It is something I have been thinking about for a long time and I still don't have a satisfactory answer. Incidentally in the West, perhaps more so than the East, it is a concern for both men and women. We should remember the advice of the Prophet to men: "A woman is married for four things: her wealth, her family status, her beauty and her religion. So you should marry the religious woman you will be losers.' Also we should remind ourselves of the transient nature of physical beauty. The most beautiful (physically) person in the world is not immune to the corrosion of time.
What do you think?
14- In what languages can you speak? What languages are to be learned in schools in the U.K.?
14- What languages can you speak? What languages are taught in schools in the U.K.?
When I am asked this question by a student I always say 'only English' so that they try to express themselves in English. I will give the same answer here! British people in general aren't very good with foreign languages. It is easy for us because the whole world is trying to learn our language! But with the rise of China, this may one day change! French and Spanish are the main two languages taught in schools here today.
15- Do you know Mr. Ahmadinejad? If so, what do you think about him? Please answer frankly
Frankly, I'm not very interested in political affairs. Though I do think that the Iranian President is a very unique character in world politics today! What do you/Iranians think of him?
Thank you for your questions Behrooz.
what a british man think about iran? all iranian are terrorist?
What do British people think about Iran? Do they think that all Iranians are terrorists?
Iran and the nuclear issue is of course in the news almost every day. I think there is a variety of opinions on Iran. Some people hate Iran and some love Iran but most people here don't really know too much about Iran.
why a foreign man is more happy than us?
Do you mean: Why are foreign people more happy than us?
Well, I'm not sure that all non-Iranians are happier than Iranians! I can't really answer this question till I come to Iran!
what is your idea about it?
What do you think about it?
It's a great idea! It is a good and enjoyable way to help improve your language. I'm sure it is even more fun in Persian!
it seems that your Iranian accent is Isfahanian :27::31:
:10:

So Long
Howdy dear buddy(!),
.... just been a bit busy over the pass few days....
pass days or past days?l
Bit by bit, it's time to pack your suitcases, leave happiness and comfort behind and begin dealing with a lot of problems. Anxious .. huh?!
Regarding my and your (!) question about the ugly girl, some people say that God has created an ugly (or even handsome) boy for her and they will find each other and fall in love and ... . I myself have seen many examlpes of spouses that the woman is ugly and the man is good (or vice versa) while they are happy and fortunate. I don't know the answer myself either. Regarding Mr. Ahmadinejad, I agree, we've better forget about him:2:l
I cannot express how I enjoy reading your responses, with your neat and professional(!) English (compared to mine:41:). I'd like to ask thousands of questions, but I know you are so busy these days (and you will be much busier after coming here :D), hence please answer these two questions.
1- Why do you think Hollywood movies (or a big proportion of them) are rubbish?l
2- From English language point of view, what's the difference between 'it's not good ...' and 'it's no good ...'?l
Thanks in advance.
If you finally could get the Visa, please inform us. You need some very important advices!! First of all, don't burn all your boats in London, maybe you couldn't tolerate living in Iran for 1 year (and probably this is the case:3:).
Good luck,
Yours sincerely,
Amir
:11:
And Petros means 'Officials' I guess
Howdy Petros
A material that we apply to (Can we use Rub?) metal in order to prevent rusting? What is that material? It's red and it is used before painting the metal. I mean Zedde Zang
'Apply' is better for metals.
I'm afraid I don't know what this material is! I do remember painting metal before, but I don't think we applied anything to prevent rusting. I will ask a painter!
?What's different Between Reach, Arrive
What's the difference between reach and arrive
They have similar meanings but can't be used interchangeably all the time. Do you know about transitive and intransitive verbs? Reach is transitive, arrive is not.The basic formula is reach = arrive at
Take this street, and you will [reach / arrive at] the park.
When I arrive there
NOT When I reach there
In addition, 'reach' has different meanings which are separate from 'arrive'. For example:
I was trying to reach you by telephone
= I was trying to contact you
Do you use the word Responsible for people who are in charge of doing country affairs? E.g
In our Country, Poverty is really obvious, Responsibles should think about that. I mean Mass'oolan
No we don't use 'responsible' in this sense. You could say, 'The people in charge of X'
Do you use the word Fit just for clothes or everything? E.g
It doesn't fit you to smoke Or It doesn't fit you to be good-tempered. I mean Behet Nemi'yad
No you can't use 'fit' here but you can use befit
It doesn't befit you to smoke
Suit can be used much more widely
It doesn't suit you to be smoking
It doesn't suit you to be good-tempered
Would you mind saying some frequently used Soccer Terms that reporter of the game says? I just know chest trap
Would you mind saying some frequently used Soccer Terms that reporters of the game use? I just know chest trap
I don't really want to talk about football tonight because my team (Liverpool) lost again so I am very upset!
:41:
:There are many terms which reporters use but a few
Header
attack /defence
hand-ball
penalty
Offside
Possession
Midfield
Substitute
Stadium
Pitch
Corner
Throw-in
Cross
Pass
Shot
But commentators always speak very fast so it can be difficult understanding them!

pass days or past days?l
Hehe, you are right teacher! I meant to write 'past days' Sorry, I type quite fast and I should have gone through it again since my use of English is being so closely scrutinised here!
I cannot express how MUCH I enjoy reading your responses, with your neat and professional(!) English (compared to mine[ برای مشاهده لینک ، لطفا با نام کاربری خود وارد شوید یا ثبت نام کنید ]). I'd like to ask thousands of questions, but I know you are so busy these days (and you will be much busier after coming here :D), hence please answer these two questions.
Thank you but your written English really is at a very good level. If you would to like to improve further I recommend reading some of the better English authors. Pay attention also to the usage of idioms by English speakers. The correct usage of idioms tends to distinguish the native speaker of English from a foreign speaker.
1- Why do you think Hollywood movies (or a big proportion of them) are rubbish?l
I do like some Hollywood films but many films I find repetitious and boring. In particular, I dislike most films with Bruce Willis! But this is a matter of personal taste!
2- From AN English language point of view, what's the difference between 'it's not good ...' and 'it's no good ...'?l
'It's not good' is the correct phrase. Although you will hear many English speakers using the second, it is grammatically incorrect. But as with Persian and other languages ,we don't really obey all the grammatical rules in informal speech. This can be very confusing for foreigners coming to Britain or the US for the first time!

hi dear
are u ok ?
what is your idea about war between iran and iraq
what sort of music do u like best ?
are u single ?
so long
In a reading comprehension part of an English test, WHICH strategy is better? Reading the whole passage and then answering, or, at first, reading the questions and then tryING to find the answers WITHOUT reading all the passage
It depends how much time you have. But generally, I think it is much smarter to read the questions first. That way you know what information you need to find when you read through it
I'm afraid I can't help you with the formula! I'm not very good at maths and I don't even know how to say the formula correctly. I advise asking a mathematician! Sorry
Hi Asalbanoo.
No problem about the difficult questions. I like having to think about them!
When do like to die
When would you like to die
When my Iman is complete.
2.Which place do you like to visit before death
2.Which place would you like to visit before death
I haven't yet performed the Hajj so I will say Mecca.
Who do you like to see before your death
Who would you like to see before your death
I'm not sure...
where do you like be buried?
where would you like be buried
Mecca/Medina
6.what do you like to be written on your tombstone
6.what would you like to be written on your tombstone
La ilaha illa Allah
which color do you prefer for your tombstone
which color would you prefer your tombstone to be
Grey
what do you say to your beloved just before death?
what would you say to your beloved just before death
Forgive me
which color and flavor do you choose to illustrate death
which color and flavor would you choose to illustrate death
Colour: Green
Flavour: Bitter sweet
what do you do during last hours of your life
what would you do during the last hours of your life
Hopefully I will testify to the oneness of God.
Thank you very much for your questions Asalbanoo, it is very beneficial to consider death. It helps to refocus our lives.
.
Hi Diana!
I'm fine thank you, how are you?
what is your idea about war between iran and iraq
what do you think about war between Iran and Iraq
Do you mean a future war between them or the last war? In any case, I think it is very sad when Muslims fight against each other
what sort of music do u like THE best
Old stuff mainly. For English/Western I like rock from the 60s/70s
are u single ?
Yes I am unfortunately.

However I haven't had the time to ask you any questions but I have been reading some of your answers. They were interesting :20:

I wish you all the best in your future challenging ( :46: ) life in Iran :11: l

When are you going to come here?
Where are you going to reside?
How much money are you going to bring?
Do you have any one here?
My advices:
1- Since you should take all your money with yourself, I should recommend you to put it in a safe place. For instance, put your money in a pouch and suspend it from your neck and inside your shirt.
2- Suppose every Iranian a charlatan (!!!) unless otherwise in proved
3- Bargain as much as you can, because if they figure out you are a foreigner, they would double the price
4- Don't ever quarrel or struggle. Just escape! Nowadays, even some 15 year-old boys (or even girls) have knife in their pockets
5- Deposit your money in a bank as soon as possible, unless you will suddenly find out that it is not where it should be
6- Prepare yourself for wasting a lot of time in heavy traffics
10- Prepare yourself to fight against American or British(!) troops.
That's enough for this session
Good luck

Dear Petros and love-to-learn
we're a bit exaggerating but it's better to be safe than sorry,
Its safe for us, because we know the country , we know the people, we know how to act, I have several experiences about this.
My dad works with foreigners, and he told me that there are some men who are specialized in rubbery with non-irannian residents.
once one of his colleagues was on the way from hotel to work, some one stopped him, introduced himself as a cop and wanted to see the passport and how much money he had.
then he told the man to come to one of the police stations to take back the passport and the money...and he was never found:41:
There was 2 other cases with the same style, unfortunately these things exists,I just suggested to keep his money and passport in a very safe place, like safe box or banks
, and petros it's not selling, it's precaution.
you can find the exact situation in Paris (one of the best European cities), they always told you about rubberies, and to take a good care of the money you have, most of them warn you of the possibility of kidnapping children. So are they selling theire country and the city? these are all precautions as I told you.
My dear friends Love-to-learn, Amir, Archi-girl and Petros,
Thank you very much for all your kind advice. I think that all large cities in the world can be dangerous for the foreigner. In a British paper yesterday, for example, it was revealed that there is a stabbing or knife-point robbery in Britain every 24 minutes!
برای مشاهده محتوا ، لطفا وارد شوید یا ثبت نام کنید
Of course foreigners are more venerable to being attacked/robbed because they don't know anything about the place they are going to. Therefore I really appreciate the advice I'm receiving.
When are you going to come here?
I haven't yet booked the flight but hopefully within 1-2 weeks. I just have a few things to sort out at home before leaving.
Where are you going to reside?
I'm not sure as of yet. I have been advised about a few places in the 'Questions Questions Questions' thread. I will be flying to Tehran.
How much money are you going to bring?
I'm not sure. With all the sanctions and frozen bank accounts, it seems I have chosen the worst possible time for coming to Iran. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for you guys living there under sanctions and everything.
Do you have any one here?
Unfortunately I don't personally know any Iranians in Iran! However, I've met some very nice people at this forum and Aidin from the 'Questions, questions, questions' thread has very kindly offered to help me settle in when I arrive.
I Thank you all again for your kind welcome, support and advice.

Anyway, I hope that you will enjoy your stay in Iran :11:l

For Tehran, everyone says that North Tehran is the nicest but also the most expensive! I'm not sure, where do you recommend? Are there any green areas in Tehran like parks or gardens?
Yes, a cell-phone is necessary. Is there any particular service provider you recommend?
Thanks again my friends.......
Comrade, How is everything going?l
I have shown some points in Tehran map below: ILI branches, Kish branches, @mir, Archi-girl, Petros (unfortunately I couldn't find love-to-learn's address)l
[ برای مشاهده لینک ، لطفا با نام کاربری خود وارد شوید یا ثبت نام کنید ]
As it can be seen, most of the branches of English language institutes are located in north of Tehran, thus you've better find somewhere near them in ordr for you to don't be tied up in heavy and deadly(!) traffics of Tehran. l
But, as you said, rents are really high in the marked areas. For instance, each m² costs more than 2000000 Tomans (1£ = 1950 Tomans today) hence a 70m² house will be more than 72000 pounds and its rent is about 350 pounds per month (approximately) I don't know if it is high or low or whatever for you. (Excuse me for my scandalous(!) English here, because I don't know the exact terms of real estates)l
By the way, the green regions on the map are parks and gardens and, I don't know, maybe jungles!!l
Here are some pictures from Tehran

Wow, Topic Got Reverse
:31: Dear Kite102, We Must Ask Questions From You

It Was Just My Opinion, It Depends On You

I think we would better change this topic's name. Don't you all think we would better continue in "Questions Questions Questions" topic? Maybe our dear EFL moderator can move the posts if necessary and of course if he shows up by any chance
Dear Kite,
I also recommend North Tehran but it depends how much you are prepared to pay. You know.
Yes we do have green areas here as it is shown in the map above, however, Tehran is not as green as London (a while ago I was reading somewhere that over 60% of London's area is green space or water and it's the home to about 1500 species of flowering plants and many types of birds.
About the SIM card, there are different service providers here. They offer prepaid ones with no bills; you will get a local phone number and benefit from local rates that are almost always free for incoming calls (I think it's more convenient than the international SIM cards). They also offer other SIM cards which you will have to pay the bills every other month.
If this is just a short visit to evaluate everything I suggest getting a prepaid SIM card which is rechargeable so that you can stay in touch with friends and family but if later you plan to stay here longer I would suggest the other ones as their network covers a larger area and the call quality is better.
By the way, how long are you staying this time?
Good luck and have fun:11:
PS. Amir, I think you have made a mistake about Kish language school branches, you have marked some 13 but at the moment they have 23 branches in Tehran and they have newly opened some branches down town.

1-what is the most hateful food?
2-what is your favorite car?
3-can you drawing good?
4-which is the biggest likeness between Cofё and tea?
5-do you know where is Tajikistan and with wich language they spoken?
6- Do you like to become an actor?
7-What does Graphmax look like?
8-as your opinion my question was cold or hot?
and at last please correct my mistakes cause i cant speak english so good
nonce bye
Amir: Thanks so much for the map, pics and information. I especially like the picture of the lake surrounded by mountains. But this must surely be outside of Tehran?
Wow! Rent prices in Tehran are quite expensive! It is similar to British prices (outside London). How on earth do people afford such high rent prices in Tehran? I am surprised to see also that Kish and ILI have so many language institutes. It sounds like Iranians are very interested in learning foreign languages.
I'm happy to see so many green places in Tehran too. Big cities can be suffocating sometimes without greenery.
PS: Your English for properties, rent etc is perfect. Have you considered work as an estate agent?!
Petros: Thanks for the info. yes I think I will come down to South Tehran as well to get an idea. I see from Amir's map that you live near a park too!
Love-to-learn:thanks again for the reply and mobile information. As I wrote earlier, I would ideally like to spend a year or more in Iran but it really depends on how everything goes and especially if I can get a visa extension/work visa.
Yes we are fortunate to have a number of green areas in London which are a welcome relief from all the grey concrete! Here are a few picture if you are interested:

Thanks for your questions Graphmax
1-what is the most hateful food
What food do you hate the most
I like most kinds of food apart from certain desserts like custard
2-what is your favorite car
I'm not a big fan of motor vehicles but if I had to pick one it would probably be one of the new electrical cars because they don't pollute as much.
3-can you drawing good
Can you draw well
No no and no!
which is the biggest likeness between Cofё and tea?
Do you prefer coffee or tea
Tea
do you know where is Tajikistan and with wich language they spoken
do you know where is Tajikistan is and which language is spoken there
Yes! It borders Afghanistan and China (and Uzbekistan I think, I need to check my map!). Tajik is spoken in Tajikistan which is similar to Farsi and Dari. Some people say that all three languages are basically the same. What do you think?
6- Do you like to become an actor?
Would you like to become and actor
Sometimes but I don't think I would be a very good actor
7-What does Graphmax look like?
Graphmax is extremely beautiful.
as your opinion my question was cold or hot?
In your opinion, were my questions hot or cold?
Warm
Your English is not bad. I understand what you are trying to say but you just need some work on improving your grammar.
Good luck my friend!
PS. Amir, I think you have made a mistake about Kish language school branches, you have marked some 13 but at the moment they have 23 branches in Tehran and they have newly opened some branches down town.
Hey Narges Khanoom
How is it going?l You forgot to say where you live
You're right, but some of the branches are so close to each other that when you want to mark them on the map, they coincide. Do you teach in Kish institute yourself?l
By the way, why don'y you want to sit on the hot chair. You are a fantastic option. Where is AminTNT? Why has he left us. You were close to each other I suspect

Hi
It's an honor to help you. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions (If any) Yes, that lake is outside Tehran, in the country I guess, I haven't seen it yet myself
Many people send their children to language institutes for university entrance exams. And of course knowing English nowadays is vital

7- Once you said you have been to many countries of the world. Why?l
8- Do you like the foggy weather of London or clear sky of Tehran?l
9- Is there any possibility to get married with an Iranian girl? Let me give you another advice here. Since we suffer from Husband Famine in Iran, maybe some girls that see you are British and bla bla bla ... want to suspend from you !!! Be careful!!l

11- Have you ever fallen in love?l

Good job @mir for the map:46: , Another thing I recommend for Dear Hufayze is buying a map of tehran, You always get lots in tehran:5:, I do have one for myself(just bought a newer version a few days ago), I always check the map for the places Im not familiar with.
Anyway, about the rent price, yes you're right it's so expensive in north, I suggest you rent in a quarter where is near in central parts of tehran so you can reach everywhere easily.
most of green areas are situated in north or suburbs of Tehran.
and questions :31::
1- what 's your definition of love?
2- Whats yr definition of luck? do u believe in that?
3- what's the first thing that come to your mind:
Black

Green
white

dragging this thread off-topic. Thank you very much. I have been seeking for this expression for years!l
Never! I'm just jesting :20:
Yeah I know what you mean, some phrases are really hard to find in a foreign language!
1- I think you have learned Persian to some extent. How?l
I took a module at my last university for about 6 months. I've know the basics but I still have a LONG way to go.. For my research though I absolutely have to learn Persian. Being able to speak Persian is a bonus but I am mainly interested in being able to read it
2- It seems that your relationship with your parents is not peaceful. IF this is the case, why?l
Really? What gives you this impression? My relationship with them is fine alhamdlillah ..
3- How many brothers and sisters do you have? What do they do? What do your family think about coming to Iran? Do they agree or not or neutral?l
Five sisters and three brothers. We ALL do different things somehow. My mother is a little worried about my trip to Iran but I am trying to convince her to let me go..She will let me go I think but a little reluctantly.
4- Have you ever seen a Persian movie?l
Yes! Rang-e Khoda. A beautiful film. I hear that there are a number of good Iranian directors in the Persian film scene?
5- Do you look more like Indians or British people? Dark or white? Black hair or blond? Blue eyes or black? Do you have beard or mustache?l
Indian all the way! Black hair and occasional facial hair..
6- Do you like any Persian music? Especially THE traditional ones? Have you heard THE names of Shajarian and Nazeri?l
I haven't heard a lot of Persian music at all and I look forward to enjoying this in Iran. I just had a look at a Nazeri performance on youtube, he looks interesting..
7- Once you said THAT you have been to many countries of the world. Why?l
I LOVE traveling and exploring different areas of out beautiful planet. I prefer to spend time in a place instead of leaving immediately but this is financially difficult sometimes! My trips have mostly been for study or tourism.
8- Do you PREFER the foggy weather of London or THE clear sky of Tehran?l
I like all the different seasons but I think the winters of Britain are far too long.. I'm looking forward to the clear skies..
9- Is there any possibility to get married with an Iranian girl? Let me give you another advice here. Since we suffer from Husband Famine in Iran, maybe some girls that see you are British and bla bla bla ... want to suspend from you !!! Be careful!!l
9- Is there any possibility of you getting married to and Iranian girl? Let me give you another piece of advice here. Since we suffer from Husband Famine in Iran, some girls might see that you are British and bla bla bla ... want to suspend from you !!! Be careful!!l
'Suspend' doesn't work here. Perhaps 'kidnap' is the word you are looking for?
Haha, as I said before, I'm coming to Iran primarily to learn Persian. However, anything could happen if it is 'written' for us! (Do you use 'maktub' in Iran/Persian?) But thanks for the warning!
There is a husband famine in Iran? Really? Why? Is the problem demographical or social?
10- How often do you cry? On what matters? Who dries your tears?l
I cry when I am REALLY down or when I am leaving people. Since I travel often, I always seem to be leaving somebody! Normally there is nobody to dry my tears except a box of tissues!
11- Have you ever fallen in love?l
Yes
12- Why are you so interested in KiteS? 1 in your ID and 1 in your avatar
I'm not really that interested in them. I picked Kite for my ID because I have 'kite' in my email ad and I picked the avatar to match the name
13- Could you please listen to this music and tell what is it saying in all? I just understand this sentence: We will win or we will die. It is about Palestine and Talle Za'tar which is the name of an occupied place
13- Could you please listen to this music and tell ME what is being said? I just understand this sentence: We will win or we will die. It is about Palestine and Talle Za'tar which is the name of an occupied place
Yes it is about the Palestinian resistance to oppression. I can't transcribe the whole thing because the recording is not very clear and I can't always make out what is being said. Here is a short section from near the start:
'Home of a people driven from their own land, refugees. People from Haifa, ---Yasin and Yaffa. People from all over Palestine. Palestine's people robbed of their life-hood (?), forced to pay for Zionist crimes..
She has a nice voice
What do you think about THE Holocaust? Is it true or just a fiction
We normally say: Is it fact or fiction?
Fact.
15- Which one is more beautiful
Lol, I don't like cockroaches very much at all
We have a poet called Sohrab Sepehri who says "I don't know why no one takes Vultures in cages (instead of e.g. nightingales!). He means every creature has its own beauty. What do you think?l
I agree completely. All people and all creatures are beautiful in their own way. But I think that the cockroach is an exception to this rule...
Thanks for your interesting questions my friend. I look forward to quizzing you one day too!
Hozy
tanx dear Kite
pardon me but in this question :
which is the biggest likeness between Cofё and tea?

Ah I see. Sorry, I misunderstood. in this case you should ask something like:
What is the main similarity between coffee and tea?
Hmmmm... I'm not sure. You need to use hot water to make both?
Thanks for your questions Archi-girl. Yes a map is essential in a massive place like Tehran! Thanks too for your suggested location. So far people have suggested the north, south and central area. I guess I will stay away from the East and West!
1- what 's your definition of love?
Hmmm, I'm sure the ahl-e ishq can give a much better definition than me but I would say love is when you . prefer the desire of your beloved over your own desires. It is something which must be experienced and 'tasted' rather than objectively defined.
What's your definition of it?
2- Whats yr definition of luck? do u believe in that
We have a saying in Britain:
You make your own luck
I suppose I do believe in luck to a certain extent but I don't have a clear definition of it. Sorry!
3- what's the first thing that comeS to your mind
Black: The computer in front of me is black!
blue: Sky
Green: Grass
white: a perfectly white room with nothing in it. Like this line..
red: Rose
pink: A pink rose !Is this font pink? i am a little colour blind..

Hey Narges Khanoom
How is it going?l You forgot to say where you live
Hi Amir Khan (what a name I made for you:31:)
Everything is fine, thank you babe. I didn't forget, I just didn't know that I should say where I live:31:I'm living somewhere downwards Tehran at the moment.
By the way, who said that I'm called Narges?
You're right, but some of the branches are so close to each other that when you want to mark them on the map, they coincide. Do you teach in Kish institute yourself?l
Yes I do teach at Kish language school but it's just a second job for me.
By the way, why don'y you want to sit on the hot chair. You are a fantastic option.
Thank you for your compliments, I'm flattered:8:but I regret not being able to accept your kind invitation as I'm not sure if I can manage it; sometimes I'm just too busy to have any time for the cyber world.
Where is AminTNT? Why has he left us. You were close to each other I suspect
Well, it's a long time I haven't heard of Amin, he must be busy with his studies at school and most probably that's why he isn't visiting the forum very often
Let's not drag the thread off topic. Amir, if you have any more questions, you can send me a private message.
Enjoy the rest of your day everybody :11:l

Mad World
Gary Jules (cover of Tears for Fears)
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad World
Mad world
Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
And I feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad World
Mad World
Enlarging your world
Mad World
Thanks again for all your questions and I hope we can stay in touch.

Hi dear sise
hi dear Mohammad
: my questions are as following
? why do you listen to music
Listening to music has two main goals:
1- Listening for entertainment: when you feel boring you can recharge yourself with music, you can inject more excite to your body by listening to music when you are doing sport, or holding parties.
2- Listening for pleasurable thought: these forms of music can raise spiritual proportion. They make deep pleasure that is very different from first form.
According to my spiritual mood, my goal for listening to music differs. But my main goal is to gain real pleasure by listening to the second form.
? if you don't listen to music for a long while then what would you feel
sometimes, I think, listening to nothing is necessary. It makes you choose your favorite music better.
If so, I feel that I have need to listen to our national music. This form is only form that I can gain real relaxation with deep pleasure.
[/COLOR]
? do you also listen to taboo music songs
What you mean by taboo music songs? I believe we don’t have taboo music, we have punk and worth music. Others are arranged between these two confines. Listening to worthless music can hurts ones musical ear and lower mental proportion while listening to eminent music can raise it.
what's music advantages and disadvantages
I believe dreamy music that pump sentimentalism feelings can make mental diseases. These mosaics raise fancy emotions that act like narcotic materials.
But other forms can give relaxation and pleasure to a person.
do you listen to English songs
Sometimes. I listen to Classical music too.
what's the best english song you've listened to
I like Pink Floyd works.
thanks
Thank you for your interesting questions.

ly, say to us a new Short joke
Joe grew up in a small town, then moved away to attend college and law school. He decided to come back to the small town because he could be a big man in this small town. He really wanted to impress everyone. He opened his new law office, but business was very slow at first. One day, he saw a man coming up the sidewalk. He decided to make a big impression on this new client when he arrived.
As the man came to the door, Joe picked up the phone. He motioned the man in, all the while talking...
"No. Absolutely not. You tell those clowns in New York that I won't settle this case for less than one million..."
"Yes. The Appeals Court has agreed to hear that case next week. I'll be handling the primary argument and the other members of my team will provide support..."
"Okay. Tell the DA that I'll meet with him next week to discuss the details..."
This sort of thing went on for almost 5 minutes. All the while the man sat patiently as Joe rattled instructions. Finally, Joe put down the phone and turned to the man. "I'm sorry for the delay, but as you can see, I'm very busy.
What can I do for you?"
The man replied "I'm from the phone company...I came to hook up your phone."

Do you watch a lot of movies?
Do you like Jackie Chan?
Do you like Bruce Lee Movies?
Would you steal from the rich to give to the poor?
Do you feel like you are struggling between the angel and devil inside you?
Do you like math teachers?
Do you wish you could forget your past?
Are you overweight and wear too much makeup to hide your fattiness?

Dear sepid12ir
You are welcome if you want to be the host of HOT CHAIR
Here, someone is the host and others ask him/her questions about everything, however, some friends consider the questions and the whole thread childish, but many others think of that as an informative and friendly thread in which you can both improve your English language skills and find more intimate friends.
If you accept to be the host, please inform us.

8- How many hours in a day do you surf internet? Which websites besides this forum?

I dun see any message from Azadeh! Anyway sorry if I didn't!
1- How old are you?
20 years old
2- Where do you live (city)?
I live in Tehran
3- What is your marital status?
Wow, I'm still a child and It's too early for me to get married so I'm single
4- What was/is/will be(!) your field of study?
I'm studying English Litretature in Azad university in Tehran(Central Branch)
5- How many bros and sisters do you have?
I have one brother and two sisters
6- What are your hobbies?
1st watching movies(English movies), Surfing the net, Listening to music
7- How much are you religious? (Give a percentage from 0 to 100 please)
A hard question. I mean I dun know exactly, I do believe in God. But I'm not religous. Maybe 5 percent!
8- How many hours in a day do you surf internet? Which websites besides this forum?
Useually 2 hours a day but sometimes I even dun have time to turn my computer on!
Beside this forum I visit some english weblogs and sites and also my own weblog and some sites which are for downloading music
9- Do you chat? How often? How much? If not, why?
Hardly ever, Maybe 5 times in a year. About 6 or 7 years ago I was addicted to chat but now I prefer to send mails to my friends instead of chatting for 1 or 2 hours. I think it's just wasting time and now if I chat I just chat for 10 or 20 minutes.
10- How often do you watch movies? What genres more? With or without subtitles? How do you gain access to them (I mean CD, DVD, satellite, TV or what?)l
Wow,What a lovely question. Usually at least I watch a movie in a day, Sometimes if I have more free time I watch more movies. Actually I watch all kinda movies but I prefer Drama,Romance and comedy. I prefer DVD bcuz of Eng/Fa subtitle,I watch a movie several times in order to improve my english and 1st time I watch it with Fa subtitle but second and third time with english subtitle and then with no sbtitle.
You can ask whatever you want, Be free.

Sure I will answer, No problem. Yeah I have. But actually we've decided to be best friends for ever not getting married and I think it can be really good and also very dangreous, It's good bcuz you can become familiare with the personality of an opposite --- and it can be really useful for your future life and in the other hand it can be really dangreous if you forget that it's just a simple relationship like our relationship with our same --- with just some differences
5-Are u good with politics ? what's your opinion about current situation of Iran?
I'm not politics at all, I've no idea 'bout it

Wow
Am I allowed to post here?
I think I had one post on first pages of this topic but I always have read the answers to know my P30 friends.
Now that a special person is on the chair I think I need to ask some questions .
Congratulations dear Sepideh. Hope you don't get burnt on the hot chair:D
Our friends have asked all of questions so it's really hard to find questions but because I've tried a lot I was able to find some questions:
1- Do you like to be an adult or to return to your childhood?
2- How would you feel if you saw a girl in your age selling umbrella at the sidewalk in a cold night?
3- Why did you choose English literature? Why not translation?
4- Are you satisfied with your current lifestyle?
5- How high is your self confidence?
6- Do you like asking questions or being questioned?

Yeah, I dun know what happened to my "O" and "N". Actually she is the only famous person that I really love, She is a rich, famous, popular, amazing, successful woman who was born in a very poor family but she decieded to make a good life for herself and she could, and now she is a very popular woman who can even change the idea of people, I really love her and when I see her I believe in this sentence that "When there is a will, there is a way". Although I love watchin movies, there is no actor or actress that I really love them even in Iran I dun like any special celebrity, But I love Oprah, Allnights I watch her program and I really enjoy:20:
Good luck:11:

ohhh. R. Etemadi, . he signed my book for me:27::27::27: (I think about 2-3 years ago)
I like the way he writes his books, but the problem is that the two love birds never reach to each other in his stories. It really annoys me:13::13:, I asked him why, he told me that true lovers never reach each other (I'm totally disagree). I can't read stories with bad ending. That's why I stopped reading his books. Yeah, I have buddy. I have read both of them. One of which is written before the Islamic revolution, however, I don't remember which one. I really don't remember the stories. I just remember one name 'Makan, Sammakan, or something. Well ... yes, they were so interesting for me that I read the whole book in 2-3 days.
But, you know, some people consider these books CHEAP, I mean the novels by authors such as R. Etemadi, M. Mo'addab Pour, Farideh Shoja'ee, Fahime Rahimi and so on. They call them popular
عامهپسند
which means they only fascinate some illiterate people (the masses), however I totally...l

Really, That's great
about his books, Actually I love books with bad and sad endings, Usually after reading books with bad endings I think a lot but books with happy endings I dun think about them at all I just become happy and since I love thinking I love novels with bad endings, and maybe bcuz of that Varese Azab Eshgh is my favorite book.:40:
About his idea, I somehow agree but I can not explain it, I think it can be true for some people who are madly in love which rarely happens. Even in persian I dun know how I can explain it, I hope you get what I mean:31::46:

What a question,
I think knowin them is not bad, bcuz if we wanna understand them well we have to know them for example when we watch English movies, they use these idioms and expressions a lot
But better not to use them, even in our language "Farsi" we have some expressions which are really impolite and a personable person never uses them but we all know the meanin. But I think there is no need and also it's not good to have a special Topic for these kinda expressions be sure that people who are not even good at english know these things well, unfortunately.:41:
