Hands-on with the Motorola RAZR MAXX and the purple RAZR for Verizon

We already covered the Droid 4, but Motorola had a couple of other interesting handsets for Verizon to show at CES – the RAZR MAXX and the purple version of the original RAZR. The MAXX is the one that had our jaws drop to the floor though, it’s a little thicker and a little heavier than a regular RAZR but it offers the amazing 21.5 hours of continuous talk time. Now go back and read that again.

The key to this nearly day-long talk time (people with insomnia will probably appreciate it) the giant battery that Motorola somehow managed to cram inside. We are talking a capacity of 3300mAh here.
That’s almost the size of a 7″ tablet battery. Big (in capacity) batteries are usually big (in physical size), but we put the MAXX next to one of the thinnest smartphones ever, its [ برای مشاهده لینک ، با نام کاربری خود وارد شوید یا ثبت نام کنید ] half-twin, and saw only minor physical changes.

Motorola RAZR MAXX next to a regular RAZR

At a micron under 9mm the Motorola RAZR MAXX isn’t the thinnest phone around, but it’s still slimmer than an iPhone 4S and its battery has more than twice the capacity. The MAXX weighs more than a regular RAZR (145g vs. 127g) but it’s not overweight by any means.
Everything else about the Motorola RAZR MAXX is virtually identical to the regular RAZR for Verizon – that means 4.3″ qHD SuperAMOLED screen with scratch resistant glass, 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and LTE connectivity. We’re happy to report that the Kevlar-coated back is still onboard too.

Motorola RAZR MAXX

The Motorola RAZR MAXX will be available soon for $299 on a two-year contract with Verizon and it will come with 32GB storage (16GB built-in + 16GB microSD). It will launch with Android 2.3.5 but 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be made available later on.
The third phone of the Verizon Droid roster is the purple version of the Motorola RAZR XT912, which will be available soon for $199 with a two-year contract with Verizon.
The purple is more of a highlight – the glass bezel all around the screen is still black, it’s just the plastic around the edge that’s purple. On the back, the grey/black Kevlar surface dominates and the glass that houses the camera, flash and loudspeaker is black too. We suppose Motorola couldn’t have painted the Kevlar, but it would have been nice if they colored the black glass at least.

Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX hands-on

!Let’s be serious here, we can’t help but reiterate that the Motorola DROID RAZR was one of the best looking smartphones released last year. For all the stellar hardware it’s hiding within its body, it’s utterly amazing to even believe for a moment that its construction and design was possible – yet, Motorola remarkably did it! However, one of the biggest complaints about the device, which is the same with all 4G LTE smartphones we’ve checked out, is that battery life is abysmally poor. In fact, most devices last just a tiny bit more than 8 hours. Well, that’s where the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX comes to mind!

To put it lightly, the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX is the Motorola DROID RAZR, but it’s packing an insanely large 3,300 mAh battery – rated for over 21 hours of talk time! Even though it utilizes the same solid design of the DROID RAZR, the DROID RAZR MAXX is expanded to a thickness of 0.35” (8.99mm). So yeah, it doesn’t retain the same thickness, but nevertheless, it’s still undeniably thin and uniform by today’s standards. Beyond that, we still adore that it employs only the best materials out there with its construction – like its Kevlar back, diamond cut aluminum accents, and stainless steel core.

Sharing the same hardware as its slimmer sibling, the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX polarizes our eyes with its always magnificent 4.3” qHD Super AMOLED display. Furthermore, some of the other commonalities include a 1.2GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor, 8-megaixel auto-focus camera, 1.3-megapixel front facing camera, and 4G LTE connectivity. However, it’s worth noting it’s been amped with a total storage capacity of 32GB – broken down to 16GB of internal storage and a 16GB microSD card.

As a whole, there isn’t much new with the handset, but we’re sure that some people are going to be relieved knowinig that it’s packing one hefty battery inside of its body – without turning it into a hefty phone. Motorola is planning to hold an event to show off the battery prowess of the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX

Not everyone might be sold on the handset’s beefy 3,300 mAh battery, which is reported to pony up an impressive 21 hours of talk time on a full charge – though, that doesn’t really say what its everyday usage is going to be like. Nevertheless, if you actually want to see for yourself the kind of numbers it’ll be able to establish, you’re in luck because it seems that Motorola will be helming an event for just that.

In fact, you might want to also circle the date of February 6th – well, that’s because Motorola is reportedly having a 24-hour marathon event for its new smartphone. Of course, we’ve heard Motorola talk the talk about the DROID RAZR MAXX and its generous battery life, but they intend to walk the walk with this upcoming event. Now what’s neat about this is that it’ll be streamed to the masses, live, so that anyone can see for themselves the actual results.

With most 4G LTE devices, battery life has been an apparent and tiring problem, but it’s nice to see that manufacturers are focusing on it now more than ever. متین جان باطری 3300 که از یک تبلت هم قویتره به نظرت سوسول بازیه !!
کم الکی نیست همچین باطریی برای یک موبایل
به جان خودم اگر سامسونگ یا اپل این کار رو کرده بودن تا حالا با تبلیغاتشون خسته مون کرده بودن

ببین الان همین مدل معمولیش هم هیچی کم نداره. قشنگ با یه استفاده متعارف دو روز رو دوام میاره.
منظورم اینه که الان به نظرم موتورولا باید یه مقداری تو سیاست هاش تغییر بده. الان همه دارن سرش غر میزنن که چرا بوت لودر این گوشی که واقعاً از هر جهت فوق العاده است رو باز نمیکنه، و موتورولا هی پشت گوشی میندازه.

الان این گوشی نیاز به این داره که توسعه دهنده ها روش کار کنند، کاستوم رام های خوب براش معرفی بشه و هزار تا کار نرم افزاری دیگه. اما به خاطر این سیاست موتورولا، گوشی آنچنان که باید و شاید توسط توسعه دهنده ها مورد توجه قرار نگرفته.
