Quadrant has earned a special place in every Android geek's heart, as it was one of the first to allow easy comparison of performances among CPUs, I/O and GPUs. With a plethora of silicon-makers wiggling their way under the hood of our handsets and tablets, it is important to benchmark and brag or fizzle out.
Well, now the popular benchmarking application has finally been brought to version 2.0 and in line with the times to account for multicore processing power, plus it adds support for the up and coming Android Ice Cream Sandwich handsets and tablets.
Let the games begin, we'd say - visually Quadrant has been polished a bit more as well, to make results more organized, and it seems to involve more thorough benchmarking. Overclockers of the world, rejoice!

The Transparent Screen app just appeared yesterday on Android Market, and it does exactly that - sets a degree of transparency to whatever you are doing on your phone's screen, with the live background being whatever is in your camera lens field of view.
The idea is to, of course, avoid tripping, crashing into lamp posts, or falling off a cliff while using your smartphone, unless it's bumping into a cute girl on purpose to make conversation. "Oh, so sorry, my Transparent Screen app force closed!" is as good a convo kickstarter as any when it comes to first contact.

There are apps that do the same while typing text messages, for example, like Walk and Text, but Transparent Screen takes things to a whole new level, and works everywhere, without the requirement that your phone be rooted, for example. The downsides are that some users report lagginess, especially on weaker devices.
You can try and set lower camera stream res to avoid that, and also decrease the transparency ratio. For Transparent Screen to start with an app of your choosing, or to stop when the screen goes off, you'd have to go PRO for a buck.

Motorola updated its master “Android Software Upgrade News” chart today, and the news is…mixed. The good news is that they added several phones to the list of guarantied ICS updates. Owners of the Motorola Photon 4G, Atrix 4G, Atrix 2, and the Electrify will all be getting a helping of Ice Cream Sandwich deliver as an OTA update some time…this year.
And that brings us to the not so good news. Indeed, phones getting the update in Q3 may be just in time to see the next version of Android get released. Android 5.0 Jelly Bean to arrive in Q2 with Chrome OS dual-boot
Ice Cream Sandwich only has a single percent of market share, but Google seems to be on the verge of releasing its successor. Latest rumors have it that Android's next release - 5.0 Jelly Bean - will be unveiled in the second quarter of this year.
According to the often reliable DigiTimes, who quote Taiwan-based supply chain makers, Android 5.0 Jelly Bean will bring further optimizations for larger screen devices - tablets and netbook computers.
One of the key features of the upcoming Android release will be its ability to dual-boot Chrome OS. The cloud-based platform still struggles to make an impact and Google is obviously planning on using the wildly popular Android to change that.
Dual-booting will also make Android 5.0 Jelly Bean much easier to market with computer makers. Given the popularity of the Asus Transformer Prime, we guess there might be a niche for ultra-portable computers with super long battery life and good performance, even if they don't run a regular desktop OS.
We'll have to wait and see about that. For now we are circling June 27 on our calendars - it's the day when the Google I/O developer event begins and if an Android 5.0 Jelly Bean announcement is to happen in Q2 - that will certainly be the place.

الآن مثلا یه گوشی بدرد نخور با سیستم عامل اندروید بگیرم میتونم هر ورژن جدید از این سیستم عامل اومد آپگرید کنم ؟ بعدش آپدیت کنیم چیا اضافه میشه ؟

اگه یه گوشی به درد نخور بگیری شاید برای یک یا دو بار آپدیت بشه
ولی اگه میخوای الان گوشی بخری که آپدیت Jelly Bean براش بیاد باید یه flag ship از شرکت های مختلف بگیری
یعنی بهترین گوشی از لحاظ سخت افزاری
آندروید یه سیستم عامل open source هست و از زمین تا آسمون با symbian فرق داره
از مدیر این انجمن عاجزانه تقاضا دارم برای بلند شدن صدای این دادخواست کمک کنید تا بتونیم از سرویس های گوگل استفاده کنیم
گوگل ماموریت خود را "سازمان دهی اطلاعات جهان و مفید و دردسترس قرار دادن آنها بصورت عمومی می داند" اما ما هم بخشی از این جهان هستیم و بدون ما ماموریت گوگل انجام نشده خواهد بود. بسیاری از ایرانیان ابزارهای مبتنی بر سیستم عامل اندروید خریداری می کنند اما دسترسی آنها به مارکت نرم افزارهای اندروید بسته شده است. ما ایرانی ها برای خرید ابزارهای اندرویدی هزینه کرده ایم و به همین دلیل مستحق استفاده از مارکت برنامه های اندروید هستیم.
اما ایرانی ها برای دسترسی به نرم افزارهای مورد نیاز خود مجبور به استفاده از مارکت های غیر رسمی و بعضا غیرامن و خطرناک هستند.
