سوني تو اين مطلب نوشته كه چقدر سخت هست كه يه آپديت براي گوشي ها آماده كرد چون الان هفته هاست كه سورس كد ics اومده بيرون ولي آپديت هاي رسمي شركت ها نه...
سوني توضيح ميده كه فريمور بايد با تك تك قطعات و سخت افزار مثل بلوتوث مودم و واي فاي هماهنگ بشه و فقط چيپ پردازنده مهم نيست در ضمن هر فريموري مربوط به يه زبان و منطقه ي خاصي هست كه آمادگي اونها طول مي كشه

When Sony Ericsson explained how hard it is to release a major software update, we got the feeling that we're in for a pretty long wait. Yet, it seems that the company's developers are progressing faster than expected as they just released an alpha preview, which can be used by devs to start working on apps for Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) right now.

The preview ROM isn't suited for a day-to-day use - major features like telephony, Wi-Fi and Google apps aren't functional just yet. Also, only the Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V and Xperia ray are getting ICS preview ROMs. The rest of the phones will still get ICS when its finalized, of course, but if you want to check out the alpha you need to use one of those three.

If you're a developer, who wants to flash their compatible phone (again, this really isn't suited for daily usage), you need to be running software with build number 4.0.2.A.0.42 (that's the latest available).

Also, you need to unlock the bootloader, but keep in mind that if you do that, some issues may arise when the proper release of the Ice Cream Sandwich starts seeding to your phone.

Anyway, there's a good deal of things that are already up and running and here goes the complete list:

New “Roboto” font
New “Holo” theme is supported (you are able to test apps written to make use of the Holo theme)
Music player control from lock screen
Updated UI in the Settings menu
Updated UI in the web browser
Updated UI and interaction with the new messaging action bar
Updated UI for improved multitasking
Swipe to dismiss notifications, tasks and browser tabs in the Notification menu

You may want to check out the following video, showcasing these new things. Much like with the leaked Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S II, the custom interface covers most of ICS but you get to see a glimpse of Android 4.0's cool new elements here and there.

مروری بر کنترلر گیمتل برای گوشی های اندرویدی:

Gametel Portable Games Controller for Android aims to bring greater feel to your mobile gaming [REVIEW]

We caught wind of Fructel’s Bluetooth games controller not long ago, designed to give any Android device a little more gaming freedom with its dedicated gaming controls.

Well, now we’ve actually had the chance to take the Gametel games controller for a spin so we can really tell you what it’s all about.
The controller itself is a mix of textured and smooth plastics with a few white graphics on the D-pad and four primary buttons. The whole thing is small enough to comfortably fit in your pocket when fully packed down and it’s light so you won’t notice it when you’re not using it.

The spring loaded clamp on the top allows you to drop in your droid of choice and you’re then ready to fire it up. The start button doubles as the on/off switch and once it’s powered up, the rest of the set up is droid-side, no rocket science here.
Fructel have already created a driver app on the Android Market, which not only allows you to choose your Gametel controller as the preferred input method for your device, an option you will have to switch to and from when you switch to something like your on-screen keyboard, but also shows a list of compatible titles (currently a shortlist of 50 and growing).
So we’ve mounted our device, connected it via Bluetooth using the Gametel app and installed a game that’s fit for purpose, now the fun can begin:
Asphalt 5 HD was our initial guinea pig and the Gametel certainly wowed with its responsiveness. There were no issues with latency or connectivity and it undoubtedly made for a more enjoyable experience than using on-screen controls. Trial Xtreme was the second title (demoed above) and again, the experience was smooth and seamless.
Being a Bluetooth peripheral, the Gametel doesn’t have to be attached to the device and in truth, the bracket won’t allow for much past perhaps a 4″ display anyway, but as such, range is safely useable up to around 10 meters, which is decent to say the least.
Depending on the game in play, you can even use four separate Gametels for local multiplayer gaming, which is a welcome feature and actually quite a powerful tool in the Gametel’s repertoire.
It won’t quite equal the likes of the Xperia PLAY in terms of usability, but it does make mobile gaming a viable option for a host more Android devices out there, that otherwise, probably wouldn’t be seeing much action past Angry Birds. Size and weight are minimal, battery life is an impressive 9 hours and it does its job well.
For those of you wanting to enhance your mobile gaming experience, without locking yourself into the Xperia PLAY or forking out the extra cash for a Nintendo 3DS or PS Vita, the Gametel offers a low cost alternative (it retails for £50 on Amazon UK) that might just be right for you, and if you get bored for the day, it’s not stuck on your device for good.

کاربران گوشی های هوشمند در سال 2011 بیش از 10 میلیارد برنامه جانبی ویژه اندروید گوگل را دانلود کرده اند اما این رقم نهایی نیست و اندروید روز به روز در حال گسترده تر شدن است، زمانی که "لری پیج" و "سرگئی برین" در سال 1998 شرکت گوگل را پایه گذاری کردند، لوگوی این شرکت بی دلیل توسط استاد طراحی دانشگاه استنفورد خلق نشده است.

با این همه برین و پیچ حتی فکرش را نمی کردند که روزی بیش از هشت میلیارد برنامه جانبی موبایل ویژه سیستم عامل اندروید گوگل توسط کاربران دانلود شوند. در این سال که شاید بتوان آن را سال اندروید نامید، سیستم عامل رایگان و منبع باز گوگل چنان با تولیدکنندگان صنعت موبایل در سرتاسر جهان سازگاری پیدا کرد که در حال حاضر اکثریت تلفنهای هوشمند در جهان مجهز به این سیستم عامل هستند و برنامه های جانبی آن را استفاده می کنند.


هم اکنون تعداد کلی برنامه های دانلود شده در جهان کمی بیشتر از 10 میلیارد است. برنامه های این سیستم عامل در میان 190 کشور جهان دانلود می شوند که در این میان کره جنوبی رتبه اول بیشترین دانلودها را به خود اختصاص داده و در پی آن کشورهای تایوان، آمریکا، سنگاپور و شمال اروپا در دسته کشورهایی با بالاترین سطح نرم افزار اندرویدی قرار دارند.

یک چهارم تمامی دانلودهای انجام شده به بازی ها اختصاص دارند. به گفته گوگل دانلود اولین یک میلیارد برنامه اندرویدی از فروشگاه اندروید گوگل 20 ماه طول کشید، در حالی که دومین یک میلیارد نرم افزار در عرض پنج ماه دانلود شد اما سومین یک میلیارد نرم افزار در عرض تنها دو ماه دانلود شده است و این سرعت بسیار بالای گسترش برنامه های جانبی و سیستم عامل اندروید را در میان کاربران نشان می دهد. هم اکنون بیش از نیم میلیون تلفن اندرویدی به صورت روزانه در سرتاسر جهان فعال می شوند و این رشد با شتابی بالا رو به افزایش است.

آمارهای گوگل نشان می دهد در سال 2011 در هر هفته بیش از 100 میلیون واژه توسط نرم افزار ترجمه گوگل به زبانهای مختلف ترجمه شده اند و 12 میلیارد مایل مسافت بر روی نرم افزار نقشه های گوگل مسیریابی شده اند. همچنین محبوب ترین زمان دانلود برنامه ها یکشنبه ها ساعت 9 عصر بوده و زمانی از روز که کمترین محبوبیت را برای دانلود نرم افزار دارد دوشنبه ها ساعت 4 بامداد اعلام شده است.

بر اساس گزارش تلگراف، همچنین در سال 2011 در حدود 25.6 درصد از برنامه های دانلود شده را بازی ها، 12.2 درصد را برنامه های سرگرمی، 11.2 درصد را ابزارها، 6.5 درصد را ارتباطات، 4.7 درصد را برنامه های تولیدی، 4.5 درصد را برنامه های شخصی سازی، 4.3 درصد برنامه های ویژه موسیقی، 4.1 درصد برنامه های اجتماعی، 3.7 درصد برنامه های رسانه و ویدیویی و 3.6 درصد را برنامه های بومی و مرتبط با سفر تشکیل داده اند

سامسونگ برنامش برای آپدیت سری گالکسی رو منتشر کرد:

Samsung unveils ICS update schedule for Galaxy line

Samsung has already confirmed that certain models will be getting the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update, but now they've provided the full list along with some expected release dates.
The Samsung Galaxy S II and Samsung Galaxy Note will make the jump to ICS first, in the first quarter of 2012. The Google Nexus S by Samsung is already munching on Ice Cream Sandwich, but the Nexus line is a special case.
The other Galaxy phones that will receive the update are the Galaxy S II LTE and the Galaxy R. The new tablets will be getting it too - Tab 10.1, Tab 8.9, Tab 7.7 and Tab 7.0 Plus.
The update schedule for these models will be released later on. Samsung warns that the update might come at different times depending on your market and carrier.
The rest of the Galaxy line seems to be out of luck, at least as far as official means are concerned. You can always try a custom ROM though, we've already seen the Galaxy Ace run ICS.

اندی روبین: روزی 700,000 گوشی اندرویدی فعال می شود

Andy Rubin: 700,000 Android devices activated everyday

Back in May it was 400,000. In June it went up to 500,000 and in July it was 550,000. Now Andy Rubin, Senior Vice President of Mobile at Google, has posted on his Google+ profile that Android has reached 700,000 activations per day.

To clarify how they arrived at this figure, Rubin clarified that they only count each device once and if it connects to a wireless service provider. He didn't mention anything about devices that only connect through Wi-Fi or have been running on multiple custom ROMs.
Still, whichever way you look at it, it's still a big number and more importantly it's still growing. And although they did not managed to hit the 1 million mark that some predicted they would by October it seems it won't be long before they do.
