دوست عزیز تا اونجا که من متوجه شدم این دستگاه یک مودم یا بوستر مودمه!
البته شاید من اشتباه متوجه شده باشم اما تقریبا توی همین مایه هاست
US Robotics has made quite a name for itself in the modem market and the Sportster has quickly become one of the most popular models. The FLASH is the first modem on the market that offers an upgrade to 56.6Kbps (kilobits per second). Unfortunately, the upgrade was not available at the time of writing, so I couldn't test this facility. However, even with the update installed, the FLASH can only receive at 56.6Kbps and transmit
at 33.6Kbps. Also, a 56.6Kbps connection can only be made to a site that supports the US Robotics protocol. US Robotics do, however, promise that several Internet service providers will be supporting the protocol, including both CompuServe and Virgin.Net.
Even at lower speeds, it did prove to be the best 33.6Kbps modem we've seen to date. With most of the high speed modems that we've tested, a full 33.6Kbps connection is often difficult to achieve and we've usually had to settle for 31Kbps. However, with the FLASH I obtained a 33.6Kbps connection around 90 percent of the time. Testing against a 28.8Kbps Sportster, I saw performance improvements of around 11 percent, which may not seem like much, but when you are downloading large files it can make a vast difference.
The whole package is first-rate, with all the cables, manuals and driver disks supplied. You also have the now common facilities of FAX and Voice Mail, both of which can be useful, although you need a sound card to use the voice mail.
