it's a good idea...but there are some problems
one of them is them is the posts without any idiom , it makes you seperate them
and the other one is the repetitive idioms...it makes you care about it
and it make the work a little difficult
and after that you should search for Reza1969 ( founder of this topic ) and ask
!!! him to put the pdf file in the first post

Definition:
A social outcast or misfit; a strange person

Example:
1) Stephan has no friends and spends all his time in the basement. What a freak !
2) The protest rally was filled with hippies and freaks.

Etymology: In the 1700s, 'freaked' meant 'covered with spots or colors'. By 1900, 'freak' meant 'irregular' or 'not normal', perhaps in reference to spots of color as imperfections in a manufacturing process. Today, 'freak' has a surprising number of meanings, all coming from the sense of 'irregular', including: an hippie, a drug addict, crazy behavior ( as in 'He freaked when I told him I wrecked his car'), a sexually promiscuous person, an unusually beautiful woman.

Synonyms: weirdo

Definition:To be in a delicate situation; to be on the edge of danger or ruin

Example:
1)Ever since I smashed their car, I've been walking on eggshells with my parents.

2)We're walking on eggshells with our landlord -- she told us that if we have one more loud party, she's going to kick us out of our apartment.

Etymology: An 'eggshell' is the thin, white outer coating of an egg. The shell is very thin and breaks easily. So if you are 'walking on eggshells' you are in a situation where you could break something ( or get in trouble or ruin everything ) very easily.

Synonyms: walking on thin ice

Definition: An animal that has been run over and killed by a car; any disgusting substance that is on the ground.

Example:
1) Maura's pet turtle escaped last week and I'm afraid it's probably street pizza by now.

2) That poor little dog -- now he's just street pizza.

Etymology: 'Pizza' is a popular food that is flat and has lots of red tomato sauce, and 'street' means road or highway. This phrase is a comical reference to unpleasant organic materials that are found on roads and sidewalks.

Synonyms: road kill

Halcyon Days

used about a pleasant time of happiness or success without problems or worries, especially a time in the past that was better than the present

The late 1980s were halycon days for investors, when it seemed that stock prices would stay high forever

Origin

The word "halcyon" comes from a Greek word for a bird called a kingfisher. In ancient times, it was believed that the kingfisher sat on its eggs on the surface of the ocean for 14 days in the middle of winter, during which time the ocean was always calm

Don't/never look a gift horse in the mouth

used to say that someone should accept a present, or something that is free, even if it is not exactly what they want

The shoes my sister gave me were a little too tight, but I never look a gift horse in the mouth

Origin

This idiom comes from the fact that you can tell how healthy a horse is by looking at its teeth. If someone gave you a horse as a gift, it would be foolish to worry about its health

A (adenine): In genetics, A stands for adenine, one member of the A-T (adenine-thymine) base pair in DNA. The other base pair in DNA is G-C (guanine-cytosine).
Each base pair forms a "rung of the DNA ladder." A DNA nucleotide is made of a molecule of sugar, a molecule of phosphoric acid, and a molecule called a base. The bases are the "letters" that spell out the genetic code. In DNA, the code letters are A, T, G, and C, which stand for the chemicals adenine, thymine, guanine, and cytosine, respectively. In DNA base pairing, adenine always pairs with thymine, and guanine always pairs with cytosine.
Adenine is also one of the bases in RNA. There it always pairs with uracil (U). The base pairs in RNA are therefore A-U and G-C.

A-: Prefix very much employed in medicine and all of the health sciences, indicating "not, without, -less" as, for example, in alexia (not read), aphaqia (not eat),aphania (not voice, voiceless).
The "a-" usually becomes "an-" before a vowel as, for example, in (without blood), anophthalmia (no eye), anotia (no ear), anoxia (no oxygen).
The prefix "a-" comes from the Greek meaning "not."

Ataxia-telangiectasia: A progressive neurodegenerative genetic disease characterized by cerebellar ataxia (incoordination and lack of balance), ocular telangiectasia ("red eyes" due to widening of small blood vessels in the conjunctiva), immune defects, and a predisposition to malignancy. Chromosomal breakage is a feature. Ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T) cells are abnormally sensitive to killing by ionizing radiation.

A-T becomes evident in early childhood, usually in the first decade of life. The hallmarks of A-T are lack of balance and slurred speech (due to the ataxia) and telangiectasias (tiny red "spider" veins), which appear in the whites of the eyes or on the surface of the ears and cheeks.

People with A-T are predisposed to leukemia and lymphoma. They are also extremely sensitive to radiation exposure. Most people with A-T have a defective immune system, making them susceptible to recurrent sinus and respiratory infections. Other features of the disease may include diabetes mellitus, premature graying of the hair, difficulty swallowing (which causes choking and drooling), and slowed growth. Children with A-T usually have and maintain normal or above normal intelligence.

There is no cure for A-T and, currently, there is no known therapy to slow the progression of the disease. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive. Physical and occupational therapy may help maintain flexibility. Speech therapy may also be useful. Intravenous immune globulin (IVIG) injections may help supplement the defective immune system. High-dose vitamin regimes have been tried. The prognosis (outlook) for people with A-T is poor. Those with the disease usually die in their teens or early 20s.

A-T is inherited as an autosomal recessive trait with both parents contributing a gene for A-T to the affected child. The gene is on chromosome 11. It is called ATM (which stands for ataxia-telangiectasia mutated). ATM encodes a protein that is predominantly confined to the nucleus of cells and that remains constant throughout all stages of the cell cycle. A disorder called the Nijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS1) is similar to A-T. The ATM and NBS1 genes appear to be in a common signaling pathway that choreographs the cell's responses to genomic damage.

.Acinetobacter: (Pronounced AH-sin-neto-bacter). A group of bacteria found in soil, water, and hospitals where they can cause serious infections in immunocompromised people and are often resistant to antibiotics.

Acinetobacter can be isolated from many sources including drinking and surface water, soil, sewage and different types of foods. At least a quarter of healthy people carry Acinetobacter harmlessly on their skin. But in hospitals some strains, particularly Acinetobacter baumannii, can cause infections including pneumonia and bacteremia (bloodstream infection).

In technical terms, the Acinetobacter genus belongs to the gamma subdivision of Proteobacteria, and to the Moraxellaceae family.

A1C: A test that measures how much glucose has been sticking during the past 3-4 months to hemoglobin, the substance in the red blood cells that carries oxygen to the cells of the body. The A1C test is important in diabetes as a long-term measure of control over blood glucose. Even outside of diabetes, an elevated A1C level may be a cardiovascular risk factor

Definition of Hemoglobin A1C

Hemoglobin A1C: The main fraction of glycosylated hemoglobin (glycohemoglobin) which is hemoglobin to which glucose is bound. Hemoglobin A1C is tested to monitor the long-term control of diabetes mellitus.

The level of hemoglobin A1C is increased in the red blood cells of persons with poorly controlled diabetes mellitus. Since the glucose stays attached to hemoglobin for the life of the red blood cell (normally about 120 days), the level of hemoglobin A1C reflects the average blood glucose level over the past 4 months.

The normal level for hemoglobin A1C is less than 7%. Diabetics rarely achieve such levels, but tight control aims to come close to it. Levels above 9% show poor control, and levels above 12% show very poor control. It is commonly recommended that hemoglobin A1C be measured every 3 to 6 months in diabetes.

The Diabetes Control and Complications Trial (DCCT) showed that diabetics who keep their hemoglobin A1C levels close to 7% have a much better chance of delaying or preventing diabetes complications that affect the eyes, kidneys, and nerves than people with levels 8% or higher. A change in treatment is almost always needed if the level is over 8%. Lowering the level of hemoglobin A1C by any amount improves a person's chances of staying healthy

bdominal aortic aneurysm: A ballooning or widening of the main artery (the aorta) as it courses down through the abdomen. At the point of the aneurysm, the aneurysm usually measures 3 cm or more in diameter. The aneurysm weakens the wall of the aorta and can end in the aorta rupturing with catastrophic consequences. As the diameter of the aorta increases, the chances of an abdominal aortic aneurysm rupturing rise. A measurement of 5 cm is often used to recommend surgery. Persons with AAA tend to be 60 or over. Men are 5 times more likely than women to have an AAA.
