Bub and Bob have escaped from Bubble Bobble and been transformed back to children. But now they're stuck on Rainbow Islands and surrounded by evil creatures.

Bub and Bob can run and leap from platform to platform, avoiding creatures and collecting useful bonuses, and their new magic allows them to shoot rainbows. Rainbows can be walked on to get higher, fired at enemies or jumped on to send them crashing down.

Time is limited, though, because the water level is rising, so the children need to move fast and climb high to reach their goal.
